look when your'e like 9 or 10 you play laser tag (im talking bout the good outdoor combat not crappy indoor) to not get scared when your shot. then when your like 14 or 15 you play some paintball while not being nooby and staying in the corner silently. (because laser tag overcomed the fear of shots) only difference is its unaccurate at long range and more painful. Plus you are probably going to get more people running in laser tag because they feel no pain when shot.

True, game strategy between PB and LT is a bit different.. Also with LT you can have 1 hit (or many more) before you are out... Some gear allows for modified taggers (like slower tagging / longer reloads, etc.) -- so it really is based on the game variables which is cool because you can play the same field different ways.. it isn't really a pain issue, it's (in part) cost and time in location and so forth. LT can be played more places 'cause there are no projectiles or spent ammo laying around

There's a lot more going against paintball than just the pain. It costs a fortune. It's messy. The range and accuracy is crap compared to good Laser Tag. Cheating is next to impossible in good Laser Tag. There is more variation in weapon types in laser tag. There are a lot more assholes playing paintball than laser tag. And in case you didn't know, the military does not train with paintball or airsoft, they train with LASER TAG. You gonna call a Marine he's a pussy? I'd like to see that.

Wrong, the military uses both modular rifle lasers and paintball. Paintball is good for close quarter urban enviroments while lasers can be used for longer ranges. Lasers are not good to train with due to the fact that it is perfectly accurate and will travel faster and farther than a bullet. A decent paintball gun is effective out to 180 feet, and is fairly accurate. I doubt there are more lazer guns out there than paintball guns and from what I can see there are a lot of lazer tag assholes.

With today's technology this is not a problem at all. You can simulate all the effects of real world with software and that is not possible with paintball. Variable accuracy, projectile velocity, wind, etc - all can be modeled with software. It all depends on how much you want to spend, or how good you are at coming up with inexpensive alternatives, but the good thing is - once you build it you won't be paying for ammo.

Well, in paintball and airsoft, paintballs and pellets can get caught in wind and go in another direction. Lazers do not. That as well as you can't play futuristic paintball, or futuristic airsoft.

Don't leave dumb comments. It indicates you are a bigot! PB is a decent sport. LT is a (smaller fan base) but also fun sport as well (must use quality gear -- I keep reminding people). I've introduced LT to PB guys (friends so they where actually OPEN to played LT, not complete strangers) -- guess what, they now respect the sport! Like I respect honest PB players (seen too many cheaters wiping)... Problem is with PB, it's almost expected to see what you can get away with!! (sad really)

Want an incredibly lame response! It's outdoor laser tag (OLT, or LT for short). It's different and is NOT paintball (PB) it is not played exactly the same and has different options (gear, game variable, etc.) and a lot less cheating. If you are tagged out, your tagger turns off (with quality gear, Laser Challenge is crap -- do not use). Laser Tag Team Ops or Stereadian Tech are two quality product lines. (Stereadian is pro stuff)

It's a different sport (similar in some ways). I have friends that play PB and I respect them because they play honestly -- most players cheat at some point which is why the PB sport requires an honor code... And for those shrinking number of PB players that are honest, my hat is off to them (what there are like 10 people left in the world that play PB honestly?) w/ quality laser tag gear, it's really hard to cheat! My growing dislike for PB is purely because of how the PB crowd *IS* these days!
