Thought Reading Demonstration

Professor Noam Chomsky talked about something related, that there has to be an internal language in the brain and that human language are just an external version of this underlying language of the brain. It is a pretty dangerous technology of course, but there are also amazing positive applications. It would tear down the language barrier if you really could decode this language of the brain because based on that you could literally translate your thoughts into words.

I'm Tom Mitchell also! this is interesting stuff.I had been telling my Dad for years, eventually there will be computers that can record all your memories and dreams.Possibly the the gateway to immortality. as we age our memories will all be stored in hard drives and who knows, consciosness may occur after a certain amount of info has been stored.as long as a search engine is able to differ what emotion is connected to what memory.until you are truly unplugged you will live on in machines.

This works as long as people think what they suppose to think. As soon one of the participants doesn´t follow the instruction and start to think of something completely different like a "Red Ball" instead of an "Truck" the computer has no idea what the person is thinking.

They ought to discover that people from different countries with different languages and mental dissorders will not match the database. There has been a sensor joystick device available for some time now that manages left, right, forward, backward, shoot...(I think around 20 different commands) but it has to be trained first.

15 years ago we didnt have the brain imaging technology or the machine learning technology Science Fiction world moves forward. So, when will this research impact public education and truly change the way children are taught? When will this technology replace the LNCB accountability testing that is killing the creative, innovation, thinking minds of the future? When will, as Jeannette Wing from CM says, will computational thinking be a fundamental skill?
