  • I really wanted James Franco to play Jeff Buckely, and if he couldn't, Robert Pattinson wouldn't be a bad reserve coz he can sing, but i fucking draw the line at Penn Badgley!

  • I think Kelly Blatz would make a wonderful Jeff Buckley

  • stop talking shit about rob...

yes i agreed that franco should be the star, hes like TWIN of jeff!

...but pattinson can sing and james franco cant (check is songs like let me sing, i was broken, i'll be your lover too)

    ...

whatever just dont choose that other dude from those tv series, PLEASE DONT!

  • @Migas128

Pattinson is a bad singer, but can improve. Everyone can learn to sing, and i assure you Franco can sing, you can't be an actor an not be able to sing or willing to learn.

  • @oliverandm no he's not.

  • fuck the mississipi river...

  • Reeve Carney; look him up guys, he's playing Jeff in the new movie.

  • people are forgetting the voice that rob has though, so soulful like Jeff. his performance in remember me was very gripping as well! i vote rob. very, very close though.

  • Val Kilmer would also be a good actor for jeff imo

  • @AchiilezTheOne

He really would - if he was 25 years younger :P

  • Just a thought, but did Jeff Buckley believe in reincarnation?

  • @Talulah6 i am jeff buckly :) i was born a year after he died :D

  • I wish Jeff's mum would just let him rest in peace for Christ's sake. She'll sell anything with Jeff's image or name on it, but Jeff himself would have given a total stranger the shirt off his back. And now a movie? Jeff didn't want to be a martyr, he just wanted to share his love and his music with the world. If you read Jeff's biography, he was often estranged from his mother because of her desire to steer his career towards making more money and away from what Jeff really was about, passion!

  • @luv4allmusik you don't understand, i would watch the movie regardless.

  • @luv4allmusik Thank you, I agree 100%.

  • Beautiful song by STEVE KATZ!!! in the video responses!!!! Just beautiful

  • Jeff Buckley was a unique man with great artistic and genius abilities. I jut Met Reeves Carney and was taken back!! It was so arie, he reminded me of Jeff so much. He should play the role!!

  • He must've been such a sweet young man, just his aura bleeds grace, a gentleman and mannerisms.....Gosh if only he were still here.

  • Is like watching a video of a family member who died ... can't not stop crying..

  • EDWARD CULLEN = NO.

    NO.

  • @dano555666 actually he is a great singer, check it out...but yes, james franco looks like his twin somehow

  • @CrimsonComedian19 Dream Brother off the Grace CD.

  • This may seem a bit random...but hear me out..Jeff Buckley really reminds me of ANDY MURRAY the tennis player.

  • James Franco if you read this....please don't play Jeff Buckley...let the man live on in our hearts...Nobody needs a fucking oscar that bad!!!

  • penn badgley has already taken the role... bummerrrrrrr

  • ZEPPELIN!!!

  • "my main music influences?...hmmmm...

love, anger, depression, join and dreams...and zeppelin, tottaly!"

    ...

he's the best...and yes he loves zeppelin, according to wikipedia he dissapeared swimming while singin "whole lotta love" from led zeppelin...

    ...

    jeff is the best

  • @Migas128 joy*

  • goddamn why aren't people who post these fantastic videos of legendary artists smart enough to disable comments so all the lameass headcases can't post their negative comments about musicians that they could only ever hope to be like! there should be a clause here that makes them post their music for all of us to critique! oh yeah that's right most of them don't make music! jerkoffs!

  • does anyone know how he died? i dont actually know?

  • @GrowTheCaine It was ruled an accidental drowning; he went swimming (fully clothed including boots) and he was caught in a passing tugboat's wake. The family issued a statement saying they had the police report and autopsy results which indicated no drugs, fowl play or suicide, but there are people that think there's more to it.

  • @tyronehuff that sucks dude.....how does this always seems to happen to talented people?....

  • It would have been good if Jeff had a son.

  • People speak of how his father was similiar musically, but I don't think it's even to be compared Jeff was so much more talented in every way.

  • He says "and Zeppelin, totally"

  • Can someone please tell me what he says at 1:15? After 'dreams?' I really can't figure it out but I want to know since he smiles after he say it. ^^ Anyone?

  • @skyeswe95 zeppelin, you know?

  • @AppleFaction thank you! ^^

  • Edward Cullen cant represent Jeff Buckley and James Franco looks a lot like him and is a better actor in my opinion for the reputation and he is more underground like Jeff ;D.

  • @DJZyvan I agree James Franco looks more like him,but Robert Pattinson sings and he's not too bad. Either one would be fine, but either way it will be one hell of a movie. OSCARS!

  • @DJZyvan oh yeah, james franco - underground superstar! Ceaser will attest to that...

  • come on guys - do we really want rob pat playing jeff? eughhh, thats the dude from twighlight remember - the one all the little girls wet their pants over. as for franco, i like him, he is a good actor but he's too big now. what we need is a relatively unknown, like sam riley playing ian curtis in Control...

  • love him so much

  • nothing like his father

  • JAMES FRANCO, IF YOU CAN READ THIS, THIS ROLE WOULD BE YOUR OSCAR AWARD!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @MrSevenkurgan I totally agree. Franco looks more like this guy than penn badgley

  • @MrSevenkurgan agreed JAMES FRANCO FOR THE ROLE!

    :D

    ...

p.s: let's make a group on facebook: "james franco for the role of jeff buckley in the film greeting from tim buckley"

    ...

and he will have the role :D

  • I've just got into Buckley and I'm 36... you know he is absolutely superb!!! I should of listened to him years ago.

  • @uli386 keep listening buddy...listen hallelujah, forget her, so real, grace, everybody here wants you...

AND IS BEST: yard of blond girls, nightmares by the sea, witches rave, opened once

  • @uli386 hey, there's no shame in finding him late... as long as you found him.

  • @MrSevenkurgan you're right !!! he would be perfect for playing jeff.. but they cast someone else in one of the two films about jeff ..

  • @MrSevenkurgan oh lord. I know!!! I know!! I always thought this! but they gave it to that gossip girl dude.

  • @MaricheEzk No, in the biopic being made by Jeff's mother & Co, Reeve Carney is playing the lead. There are several biopics in the make, do not get them confused, the one with Penn Badgley is another one.The one with Reeve Carney is the "official" one, Reeve's got access to all of Jeff's music, writings etc...If I agree with all of this, does not matter, the film is being made anyway. At least they picked a real musician, he's got charisma but still ...big shoes to fill so good luck to Reeve :)

  • @MojoPinGirl thank you!! this is great. :)

  • I have never even thought about a biographical movie of Jeff's life, but I think it would go over well and grow a slow but huge outpouring of a cult following; washing in a new and long overdue wave of Jeff Buckley fans. James Franco would definitely have my vote out of anyone I could think of present day, to play him.

  • NIce answer on the musical influence thing.

  • 2 people can go suck an egg

  • hahaha zeppelin! God, we've lost a great musician and person.

  • I think we may say: Jeff lives eternal

  • Jeff said once that he was 'captured' by music.

Well Jeff you 'capture' us with your music & spirit.

Thank you for giving yourself to us...........

  • always with us Jeff, ALWAYS

  • What talent this young lad possessed. RIP Jeff..

  • I wanna watch it sooo bad. It was on channel on tv but I couldn't see it because of I didn't get the channel. It sucks.

I love his voice, speaking and singing. And those eyes as they stare into the camera when he is listing his musical influences, does anyone else feel like he can see into there soul in that part? I do.

  • jeff buckley biopic

    starring james franco :))))))))))

  • why! Why oh why has he left us one of the best talents ever!

  • cheese it up 4 fuck sake

  • Love,

    Anger

    Depression

    Joy &

    Dreams.. & Zeppelin

  • I VE NEVER EVER HEARD ANY ONE IN TH WHOLE WORLD SINGING WITH THIS KIND OF UNDERWATER, BEYOND PASION LIKE THIS GUY..........

AMAZING , I ALMOST CAN FEEL WAHT HE FEELS.

THATS THE MEANING OF BEING AN ARTIST.........

HE IS LIFE AND DEATH TOGETHER , AS THEY ALWAYS HAS BEING "TOGETHER".......

  • I just want to say that Jeff buckley is the epitome of what the true quality of music really is, the quailty to transcend numerous emotional and mentally fused perspectives, the ability to feel acute internal sensations that reveal the truth of our existence. Amazing music and he put his soul into that, every song is directly from his soul. I have had experiences and revelations of immense magnitude whilst listening to Jeff.

  • jeff was a guest on weekly radio segment with Richard Kingsmill on JJJ 105.7FM ABC studios when he was ere in Sydney on tour, and the segment was called "high 5" - top 5 songs that changed your life, and i still have that interview recorded on audio cassette, so wen i work out how to transfer it on 2 cd or stick i can share the "lost" interview.. but for now........

  • A GIFT to fellow fans

the top 5 songs that changed jeff's life -

How Soon is Now? - The Smiths

Yeh jo halka halka - Nusrat Fateh Ali khan

Gorecki symphony no 3 "sorrowfull songs" lento e largo

Aint no mountain high enough - Diana Ross and the Supremes - the same version posted by alljacksons (egypt picture)

the 5th was a mystery. he wasnt straight talkin, he was trying not to reveal so much so he got away with it. i think the 5th song is i never asked to be your mountain

  • jeff loved kurt cobain and had a poster of him above his bed in his tour bus. jeff also loved the Smiths 80's english romantic punk band... just listen to the song " i know its over" a song he used to cover in the early days, the smith's were notoriously known as "music to commit suicide to" lol but seriously a brilliant band, and would give you a lot of insight into jeff.. or one aspect .. the second album was so painfull, how was he suposed to exercise more when he was keeping so many secrets

  • i cant send you a pic ive had heapsa requests for songs n pics n stuff but im still learning how this all works.. yeah i know.. but hey, i didnt cum up rich,, my dad was a roadie, not an investment banker i aint never had a computer around the house so excuse my total lack of uploading skills..lol. but i do compute.. lol. page 179 in david brownes book 'dream brother - the lives and music of tim n jeff is where you find it or try google last photo of jeff and tour manager gene bowen.

  • Everyone heard the music.. No one saw the pain.. people that wer apparently close to him claim it was an accident...anyone who says this.. never really listened to the lyrics or the interviews, never really 'knew' him at all. my mother is a bigtime Tim fan, i grew up on buckley, i was 17 in '97 when jeff died. tim's music was about reading between the lines and i think jeff inherited being cryptic from his father, as he inherited so much else of his father, it was trajic but not an accident..

  • it does not matter if he seemed happy before he died. Sometimes you are calmest when you have made your decision as to what you are going to do. I believe there are those out there that see the world "through deeper eyes" than the rest of us, and because of that, they cannot stay here long. It's overwhelming. They are often referred to as "intense" or "brooding" by those who do not understand. And to "denush16", those instincts you speak of only kick in if your intention is to live.

  • @EmmaIsabelBB i just wanna say while im talking too much its because im thinking too much. i thought YOU really hit the nail on the head, and it was your comment that inspired me and spurred me on to speak up, what you said was spiritual and backed up my facts and intensity nicely.. the world needs more "tapped in" people like you who can tell it like it really really really is....... x o x good on ya mate keep ya head up dont take no shit from no one..

  • an artist like this, its loss... its so devastating to music. buckley, hendrix, morrison, joplin, cobain, jones , and you can't forget of course, the great robert johnson. the father of it all. R.I.P

  • Jeff Buckley has the eyes of a wolf

  • @ouiebeib sorry but i find that a bizarre comment, jeff drowned in the wolf river mississippi and close friends said hed do inpersonations and turn himself into a cartoon wolf, theres even a caricture drawing of him with a wolfs head !!

  • @LoveforGia I didn't know all that. There are some people that remind me of animals, because of specific part of their bodies, like Jeff Buckley and his eyes. I have a friend that seems like a turtle because of her tongue, so I think that whole wolf thing is a strange coincidence :)

  • @LoveforGia woow, I'm reading you're comments, you're like an expert on Jeff Buckley!

  • @ouiebeib haha wot a compliment. hard to accept while still showing grace tho..lol. yes my connection is spiritual and deep. but i would know nuthing, if it wasnt for my parents, because of my mother, she loved, basically was in love with Tim. Tim soothed her pain. She would play Tim n lay me in a bassinette infront of the speakers as a baby, it was special. i knew every word to every Tim song by age 5 thats what probably sets me n my opinions apart, intensive childhood listening of Tim's work.

  • the only one who sounds anything like Jeff Buckley is his father Tim Buckley. Sadly, like Jeff, Tim died tragically at a very young age.

  • Not only his voice and music is good, he is hot and sexy too.

  • If I were Jeff, I would be very proud of his mother, how she keeps his music close to her heart and everyone else. My son is a musician and if anything ever happened to him I would be devestated but at the same time thankful for the time we had. Thanks for the memories.

  • @makerme1 Mary could learn alot from Afeni Shakur if she hasnt already, in some way thru someone already.

  • i look like this guy.........no wonder that one girl always told me she thought jeff buckley was hot..... i always thought.....(" why the fuck do i care") doh!!!! now i know why.... too late

  • Johnny Depp looks like him, also, somewhat...

  • Glad to be here in this moment, with this music pouring into my soul. Thank you Jeff. I'll see you around. : )

  • what's the very first word he says? i just can't hear it.

  • @Zarrinkoub Grace is what matters in anything...

  • @Zarrinkoub Grace is what matters in anything, especially life, especially growth, tragedy, pain...

  • Rest in peace and his music will forever be apart of us all.

  • HE sounds just like Michael Cera!

  • ALWAYS in our ears, minds, hearts. Your ART lives-on *Forever!!!*

  • People recount Jeff Buckley's death was an accident. Please, people, don't think of me as a douche for saying this, but MAYBE he killed himself. It's NOT a probability, it's a possibility. He was a perfect swimmer, and he just finished some great recordings. He had a long, unrelenting life and work. He had periods of depression, and while singing a lovely Led Zeppelin song, drifted into the river. Maybe he just wanted to finally be at peace. It happens... "No Surprises" by Radiohead.

  • @jeremymccovery bullshit you douche, he loved singing and making music and wanted to keep doing it. Jeff Buckley foolishly went into the river and drownd. Period!

  • @nat00ben06 Very, very wrong.

  • @Huberns I'm wrong? Prove it, show me some evidence.

  • @nat00ben06 You calling Jeff Buckley a fool, you wanking lil fuck??

  • @jeremymccovery I agree with you. No artists could make troubled songs like this without a serious dark side. Listen to this interview. Grace helps you not reach for the gun to fast. In other interivew's he said he would do anything to be reunited with his father also, and he was a very religious man. I would put my money on that he killed himself.

  • @Huberns you're wrong jeff 's mother said she talked to him right before he died and he was happier than ever, he was writing a lot of songs ans was going back to the studio to re-record "my sweetheart the drunk" the day he died; jeff wasn't alone that day, he was with another band member and the authopsy revealed there was no substances or alcohol on jeff's body...and how can you commit suicide drowning, your insticts will make you swim to survive, is that enough evidence???

  • @denush16 mary was in denial about a lot of things. period. thats why he sounded 'happier than ever' or wotever that means, he wasnt happy with any of the stuff he'd been recording and was o.c about re-re-re recording the new material. he was a perfectionist and they're rarely happy. the last photo taken of him with gene bowen hours before he went into the river, is clearly a disturbed, hollow, lost portrait of jeff. he had no substances in his system as a clue, he did it with clear intent.

  • @LoveforGia I know Jeff was a perfectionist, thats why he wouldnt leave his material 2 b unfinished, yeah he didnt know his mom would release it after his death but I think Jeff wouldnt take that chance

he once said " I dont care 2 b remembered, I hope the music is" and Jeff being so perfectionist wouldn't b happy with an unfinished album on his legacy

Could u send me the pic so I can c what u're saying?

Maybe Jeff did wanted 2 kill himself but Im sure he'd wait n finish My sweetheart the drunk

  • @denush16 sometimes its not about having the right answer, so much as asking the right question.Grace was jeff's masterpiece,he had that shit welling inside his whole life, and i think you would agree, that it was perfection- all he wanted and needed to get out to release the pain in his soul.. im not saying that was all he had in him.far from it..but creativly if your runnin ova the same ground, not happy. Grace was a fit and proud contribution to art..you could leave it with a 'satisfied mind'

  • @LoveforGia you're right, grace was perfection and it kills me that jeff doesn't get the attention he deserves, he was a genius and had the most amazing voice ever!! We can argue for hours saying if he died by an accident or if he killed himself but we'll never know what really happened or what was going through Jeff's mind that day.... We can only pray for him to rest in peace forever.

  • @denush16 o.k Now you r right .lol.I've felt the intensity of what ive said all day (im in australia), whoa, if thats just a fraction of the intensity he felt, than damn, it wasnt easy being jeff, irregardless of the whys n hows of that fatefull evening, Anyways sum things just have ta be said and nutted out.. the more buzz, the more discussion, the more it helps 2 educate and keep jeff's name alive. in hindsight if i love him and you love him too, than he'd say wer both right just ta be cheeky

  • @denush16 I'd only be too happy ta join you in a prayer for Jeff, sending our love for and to him.. its a nice olive branch and sentiment.. but should i expect anything less from a true fan of jeff's?.. ! haha lol... with his wicked sence of humour, im sure he'd be lovin that we got really heated and into it ! only to now be like sharing in prayer !! Are jeff buckley fans the sincerest funniest proudest loudest maybe nicest people in the music community.. lol.. i'd like to think so......

  • @LoveforGia same thing happened 2 me, I spent my whole day thinking about him after that little discussion, I just want ppl 2 know more about this music genius and like you, I'm sure he'd b so happy for his fans being so passionate about him and his music, and yeah we're the best fans in the music community because we're not bashing him or having the typical fights you see on every YouTube video, we are always praising him, but it's also because Jeff was so amazing, a true legend...

  • WHO DOESNT LIKE THIS VIDEO SUCKS!

  • OK, this guy is a Scorpio, NO????? He's gotta be!

  • @HeidiIvy another weird comment.. yes jeff was a scorpio..

  • @LoveforGia weird comments are good and rather insightful at times, no? I like your passion ( in your comments)... keep digging for Truth! Happy New Year!

  • has a james dean and bob dylan look. last goodbye is an immortal song

  • Dream brother ,should have come over .

Saw your photo on Jools' piano.

    How'd you get there?

    How did you get there?

Shot through as straight as an arrow.

Has this world no use for a dead chanteuse.

Did you cut us loose on your way? too cliche, and obtuse.

    Rock on Jeff!!

  • Siento alegría por haber conocido a Jeff hace solamente dos días, y tristeza cuando he sabido que se murió a los treinta años. Choque de emociones. Era muy hermoso.

  • jeff is hot

  • de blir en sommar i sverige med dig lool

  • he seems like a really cool person!

  • LOVE YOU Jeff you're an angel

  • how did he die? i dont much about him but his music is awe striking. i wish i new more =/

  • @spader4 he drowned in a river.

  • @spader4 He drowned tragically in mississippi after a festival, his body was found a week later over 100 miles down river from where he originally drowned, what a loss to the music industry,by far the best solo artist of all time!!!

  • The Classical Greeks venerated the legendary figure of Orpheus as chief among poets and musicians, the perfecter of the lyre invented by Hermes. Poets like Simonides said that, with his music and singing, he could charm birds, fish and wild beasts, coax the trees and rocks into dance, and even divert the course of rivers. He was one of the handful of Greek heroes to visit the Underworld and return; even to Hades his song and lyre did not lose their power (Wikipedia)

    He's Orpheus made in flesh.

  • @celticharp1985 his timbre is very similar, but who is this man?, I can not find anything online about it

  • i hate his mom! she's taking adventage of his amazing work! every year she publishes a new edition of 1 or 2 songs and makes money of it! Jeff wasn't working for money, he was working for making music..

  • @sharon879

That's mean! She lost more from his death than anyone else, even us fans.

Can't you believe maybe she does for love not money?

  • what an incredible talent he was. I bet when people stood beside him they just froze, wanting to talk to them but they couldn't even breathe.

  • good mum! :)

  • shame what happened to this man..pure talent. thats all i have, R.I.P jeff buckley <3

  • may God rest ur soul in peace

  • Fuck, I didn't know who Jeff Buckley was and I've been listening to his music for a couple of months. i generally listen to 'Hallelujah'. I didn't know he'd passed away 10 years ago. That has really pissed me off and put me on a downer.

  • Jeff Buckley was so hot. Sigh.

  • i know its impossible to even come close but i think this album sounds like him:

cdbaby.com/cd/branthooks, theres a full song clip on my channel also

  • you might be gone but you'll live forever in all our hearts through your music... we miss your beautiful voice and soul but specially the love and passion you felt for music....

    RIP jeff

  • no wonder he can hit those beautiful high notes so effortlessly, he has an exceptionally high speaking voice, i don't know why i always thought of him having a deep one.

  • @spanishprisoner

I was thinking the same thing. James Franco did a good job as James Dean, and he'd do a good job as Jeff.

  • What a hypnotic talent! Am always captivated by his music. His appeal is eternal (no pun). Love you, Jeff!

  • @ecald12 True! He is a real talent in every sense of the word!

  • Beautiful soul would so much wanted to see what he would have produced and given to the world in his future ...

  • He's really full of himself, lighten up Jeff, you are dead afterall - why so serious? :)

  • Jeff Buckley looks totally like Saul Silver.

  • He has such a sweet and beautiful voice... I could listen to him just talking!

  • grace (grs)

    2. A characteristic or quality pleasing for its charm or refinement.

    3.

    a. A disposition to be generous or helpful; goodwill. <(as Jeff Buckley was, I believe to be.)

    b. Mercy; clemency.

  • rip jeff this day never exists

  • RIP Jeff. Te amo!

  • Jeff, i love you. *thinking on you

  • that lady perturbs me somehow..;?

  • I still love you Jeff

  • seeing this makes me so sad, but it kind of reminds me what matters in life and what makes life. thank you Jeff for keeping me sane.

  • a true angel..I adore and love evermore!

  • DEAR JEFF, IT'S NEVER OVER.

  • HE's a tear that hangs inside my soul forever...

  • "I guess I wanted to dash myself on the rocks..."

Losing an artist like this, even though over a decade ago, is still a bit devastating.

  • @BlueAngelFlyer Dont be too hard on yourself. We all do things we wish we could take back. I think its awfully big of you to admit your mistake and not just delete your comment.

    Peace,

    K.

  • you're sick. i watched her suffer and she does this to keep herself sane so he lives on. she's a single parent who would give ANY amount of money or her own life for her beloved boy.spew your hate elswhere

  • I'm glad to have ANYTHING of Jeff's work..and I LOVE the "Grace around the world" package. People might have different opinions about how Jeff's legacy should be handled..but one thing I think is easy to agree about; is that all the stuff his mother has put out, has been very well put together, and a gift for people everywhere who love Jeff Buckley's music. RIP.

  • what a bitch. thats a mother?

  • dit is geweldig, blijf zo doorgaan1

  • Me encanta..

  • the mother of Jeff prosecuted a dutch film student who made a documentary about him. She was claiming the rights on all her son's material and by doing so, not allowing the love of her son's fans manifest into a hommage to the inspiration he generated in many lifes. Even the band members turned away from her commercial grasping. sad, as it constipates natural flow and surely does not suit Jeff's spirit. Bless you Jeff...

  • I understand Jeff would probably hate this movie but I am SO thankful it's happening. People need to learn about him. SO many people I know do not know who Jeff is and it's killing me! I need to get a shirt with his name on it.

  • rare gems!

    Thank you!

  • there's just one and only!

  • Nobody looks like has buckley jeff ;D he is unique! Fortunately xD

  • They could do a movie on him, james franco looks exactly like him

  • oh my god you're right.. I mean no hollywood star can replace Jeff but yeah, they do look alike
