This is helpfull for beginners, but I'm not sure if learning this is truely nessecary.
Because after you play for a while, some things, like pivots, become obvious to you. So I'm not sure if you have to learn this on your first lesson. That's just my oppinion.
Any tips for those chord progressions when these techniques don't apply? For instance G,D,C and Am. Those chords are used together a lot,and the ony two that have any comonality are C and Am.
@unwinsis If you'll finger your G chord 320033 then you have a pivot on the B string for your change to D as well. Keep in mind that chords have several voices/fingerings and with a little ingenuity you can apply this technique to most progressions.
@Guitarpixx Thx for the tip. It works well when an alternate voicing won't be too noticeable. I've also been practising an alternate G chord fingering, holding the E string down with the fourth finger instead of 3rd, so the 3rd finger is ready to come down on the B string to start the D chord. Thanks again.
I've been searching everywhere for some good videos that aren't too intimidating or complicated and Peter pulls it off beautifully. I've watched two videos from him so far and I'm very impressed with the simplicity and effectiveness of his teaching.
IM NOT KIDDING!!! this is THE BEST video i've watched!!! i learned so fast with the chord switches and the whole lesson i was so happy cause now i know how to keep up with a good sound and not have to pause every second... THANKS keep it up
I've played guitar for a little while (about a year) and think I'm decent although still a beginner. Anyways, this video series is actually very helpful, I'm learning some techniques to try and break bad habits that I have already developed. Very instructional and helpful.
WOW !!! that's what I would call REAL teaching, I mean your methods are really useful and seem professional.... THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS for that proper teaching, i'm sure it will help me on later even tough im only starting
You do a great job with these videos Peter. Luckily, I've made it past this point already, but your well paced, clear instructions are perfect for the guitar beginner.
I have just started learning the guitar and this lesson has helped so much! You have answered my question which was how to you get more fluid chord changes. Brilliant! Now going to have a look and see what other lessons you have put up! More please!!!
you're sooo gonna go 2 heaven 4 this :)

I unsuccessfully tried that progression for a week, with this video I got it in 3 minutes! Thanks for pointing out the obvious.
