  • 1:50 Best Music Bridge ever, I have to say ^^

  • 1:18 - 2:25

    Eargasmic...

  • Did you guys know the story for this movie was written by Joss Whedon? (creator of buffy/angel)

Unfortunately, for some reason, he wasn't credited for his work.

  • @bottledupinside1 Joss is such a brilliant writer!!!

  • @bottledupinside1 Where did you get that? the script writer was Graham Yost. I got the dvd with movie audio commentary with him and the producer,Mark Gordon

  • @MissHelloMara I'll try to make this simple for you:

    - Graham Yost wrote the script.

    - Joss Whedon wrote the story.

I suggest you research the difference between a script writer and a story writer, before making such silly comments.

  • @bottledupinside1 I Know The Difference,but I didn't express myself very well.You don't have to be rude right away.Seriously....dude.

About your previous comment: i didn't hear that anywhere,so i was just curious.from the audio commentary Graham Yost made it sound as if the whole thing(the story,as you say)was His Idea From The Start. At least to me it sounded that way...

  • @MissHelloMara You wouldn't hear that anywhere on the audio commentary, Joss wasn't credited for his work, plain and simple.

I agree; you didn't express yourself very well.

  • @bottledupinside1 Well,I guess I proved that my English is not as perfect as i thought XD Oh well.no hard feelings from my side.

  • @MissHelloMara I didn't realize you experience difficulties with English?

If I had known that, I wouldn't have dismissed your comments as being of lower intelligence.

Sorry for being hard on you about it.

  • @bottledupinside1 Haha,it’s OK.And on topic-Speed soundtrack is cool.

  • What a Metal Gear Rip off!

  • @JapaneseModernist this was released before metal gear... -_-

  • this is the best action movie ever

  • The best action movie hands down besides Long Kiss Goodnight

  • A memorable score by Mark Mancina for one of the best action movies of the 90s.

  • rip dennis hopper best villian ever

  • "I'm gonna rip your fucking spine out, I swear to God"

  • i used this theme on my mp3 player on the bus once it was epic!

  • Pop Quiz Hot shot!

  • I told you Jack!!!!

  • Efteling

  • Is anyone else reminded of the Metal Gear Solid soundtrack ( PSX) when listening to this?

  • @svenstoffels

I actually came here just to post the same thing!

  • @svenstoffels Everytime!!!

  • @svenstoffels OMG The first time I seen Metal Gear Solid All I could think about was Speed.

  • @svenstoffels It's because the main composer of the Metal Gear Soundtracks has said that the music of this film was highly influential for him in his works..

  • @svenstoffels LOL ya

  • das lied hat keinen namen oder?

    also die melodie?

  • finely i have found this song after all this time i have found it THANK YOU!!!

  • 17 people got their head chopped off on top of a subway instead of the bad guy doing so

  • @ninendowii2000 WHATEVER ...

  • The MGS composer swiped from this soundtrack, that's pretty obvious, I would like to say that he took his inspiration from this, but I'm not convinced of that.

  • 17 people can't jump with a bus over a not yet finished bridge

  • Correction of my old account: 17 people went below 50 MPH.

  • heared this on a figure skating champion ship and it was SO incredible

  • They don't make them like this any more

  • Pop quiz asshole. You have a hair trigger aimed at your head. What do you do? What do you do?

I'm gonna rip your fucking spine out, I swear to God.

    He lost his head.

    Fuck me!

  • Pop quiz, hotshot!

  • That Reminds Me of the "The Geist"

  • Traven: FUCK ME.

Frye from Ferris Bueller: Oh Darn.

  • this reminds me of MGS

  • @mepizzasmangled I've always thought so as well, so I put together a mash-up. You can search "Speed and Metal Gear Solid soundtracks mash-up" or check my channel.

  • This movie ROCKED like no other...great story and great actors! GO SPEED WHOOO HOOO!!!!

  • haha i play this song when i'm late for work. haha

  • Haha this music is so nostalgic to me...'Speed' was one of my favorite childhood movies (yeah I know weird especially for a girl some might say) but I watched it over and over again. xD

  • @XIIBlinxify I feel ya. I watched this all the time. I'm a guy tho lol

  • this reminds me abit of the metal gear solid theme tune

  • @sicksingh I knew it sounded familiar!

  • Harry, there's enough C-4 on this thing to put a hole in the world!

  • The Allies played this song when they landed on the beaches of Normandy on June 6th 1944; Then, the Germans promptly sh*t themselves and retreated.

  • The Speed theme just quite frankly owns

  • Just a bit different from the mgs music but just as epic! :-D

  • Sounds like Metal Gear Solid music.

  • Comment removed

  • @MLFreese well, actually metal gear solid music sounds like speed soundtrack, this one is older. But yes they sound similar

  • @MLFreese indeed!

  • This movie is about a runaway bus rigged to explode if going under 50mph. I bet when the movie came out, at least ONE PERSON somewhere in America, went to see this movie because they thought it was about the drug, speed.

  • reminds me of metal gear solid music

  • I suppose technically, this is elevator music.

Best damn elevator music I ever heard, though.

  • @ChaztheWeasel Haha so true! :P Funny that you mention elevator music since the very first scene takes place with an elevator! :P

  • *in a really deep voice*

I NEED EVERYBODY ON THIS SIDE OF THE BUS!

  • 14 people have got blinders on to the world!

  • This music made me care if that bus went below 50 mph.

  • I love how this song goes haha. Its got a weird kind of epicness for a movie about public transportation amirite?

  • You could use the whole soundtrack for any one of the metal gear solids, and it'd fit.

Especially snake eater and sons of the patriots. Maybe even the tanker level from the seccond one.

  • This was a kickass movie

  • 1:26 - 2:11

  • where's the metal gear sounding speed song?

    The "doot-doot-doo-da-doot!" sounding one?

  • 14 people went below 50 MPH.

  • @ReverseReverse404 they thought "if u go over 50 mph this bus will explode"

  • @ReverseReverse404 make that 17.

  • SNAAAAKKE!

  • if you haven't seen Keanu Reeves' first film, i highly recommend it. "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventures" hilarious!

  • @Sony18241 That wasn't his FIRST film.. but that was his most recognizable and film that gave him extreme notice

  • @Sony18241 Dangerous Liasons was before Bill and Ted's, and he did a bunch of drama's before Bill and Ted.. He had several great films before his comedy that were dramas and good ones, one called River's Edge and his FIRST film Letting Go

  • @JonIsFrench ok, breathe. its only a movie. the point is i like keanu reeves. he's a dang good actor! thanks for setting me straight on his carreer.

  • @Sony18241 My bad i didn't mean to sound mean or anything, and yes he is very underrated because of his typecast as an airhead from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.. :P

  • I love this movie! It was really popular when i was a kid. CLASSIC too bad dennis hopper's dead now though. FANTASTIC actor!!!

  • Sandy and Keanu should do a Speed 3!

  • Godzilla (1998) ripped off the theme at 1:25

  • This sounds like the theme from Forrest Gump.

  • @CapsuleTree yeah maybe when forest in running at speed

  • @CapsuleTree totally

  • The music definitely reminds me of Metal Gear Solid. It carries that heavy "This is some badass stuff going on right now" timbre which MGS had with most of its soundtrack.

I'm not saying that Speed stole from MGS or vice versa. I'm just saying they both definitely carry a similar attitude.

  • also this sounds nothng like metal gear solid..like not even remotely close.

  • Speed and Rumble in the Bronx are both epic action flims in tha 90s.

  • very unique...i knew once i heard this blaring while we were going down an elevator shaft that this was gonna be a hell of a ride!

  • modern classic

  • Actually i think it sounds more like Time Crisis

  • Composer Mark Mancina wrote te score for Speed and few years later - fo Twister. If you listen carefully, you won't be able to tell (not knowing), from which film the score is. Some writers have their own style, like James Horner - you can always recognize those Celtic bagpipes he's using often. But Mark Mancina is one of my favorite composers, along with Trevor Rabin (score for Armageddon).

  • @TerraZet but this movie came out before Metal Gear Solid, so technically MGS copied this but who cares it sounds good that's the main thing :)

  • @TerraZet That's like saying you gave birth to your dad....genius

  • @TerraZet what the fuck are you talking about the film was out before metal gear solid so fuck off, i love both this film and MGS so stop being a total dick, anyway why would japan rip off a a film they probably havent seen.

Both are still good so STFU.

  • @moultage i doubt japan didn't see 'speed'..it's a pretty well known film.

  • @WeskerLogan yes i know im trying to back up both sides of his arguement, but i dont think there just going to copy off a film.

  • excellent theme.

  • epic theme

  • sweeeeeet (:

  • Have search for this soundtrack in ages.

  • My first thought when I got in on MGS was "... Speed?" Regardless, both scores are masterful, and it is in no way shameful to draw inspiration from something. Speed was one of my first action films and MGS is my favorite series, and I love the both of them.

  • OMG! The theme that starts at 1:25 looks similar (sounds exactly the same to me) as track #9 you'll find on the Shattered Steel soundtrack (a 1996 PC video game from Bioware). You may find it at gh.ffshrine.org/song/5853/8

Don't ask how figured this, I was cleaning my bookshelves and stumbled upon the CD and wanted to give it a try (it's a MS-DOS game, it failed to load on Win7) and while I skipped from tracks to tracks, I noticed the similarity.

  • @jpleveille I uploaded it at watch?v=daxCGurFhS4

  • I don't give a fuck, MGS sounds just like this. This sounds just like MGS, I like both Sound Tracks.

  • Everyone who keeps talking about stealing, stop crying each version has it's interpretation and both of the versions originated from:

Georgy sviridov - The Snowstorm (1974)

    Thank me later!

  • @TH3USUALSUSPECT

The tune was stolen from Beethoven.

  • @TH3USUALSUSPECT yeah, movie theaters around here use the snowstorm for in between the previews and movies (where it advertises the theatre and tells you to turn your phone off)

  • live this song so much!!

  • 1:25 Love it

  • @chevyvette58 die

  • The 12 people who disliked took the bus.

  • @paintggh i am going to make an offer to 12 dislike people that they could not refuse

  • I wish 12 dislike people were on that bus.

  • or MGS duel.

  • MGS hind d.

  • Over the top, just like the entire movie.

  • Pop quiz hotshot, there's a bomb on a bus. If the bus goes 50 mph, the bomb is armed. If it drops below 50, it blows up. What do you do?

  • @HypocriteSkeleton3 ...Turn into pink mist?

  • @HypocriteSkeleton3 i'd want to know what bus it was?

  • @katrinawithfanta Really? I'd stay away from all the buses. lol

  • @HypocriteSkeleton3 lmao it says that in the film and yeah i know id just hide lol!

  • One of the best 90's films ever.

    R.I.P. Dennis Hopper.

    Pop quiz hot shot.

  • Metal gear sampled from here!

  • great theme, wow great movie great actorsss

  • I am an EFF BEE EYE AGENT!....wait, wrong movie.

BTW, good to see I'm not the only one who thinks of Speed/MGS.

  • whatever MGS sound likes speed or speed sound likes MGS both are epic songs

  • i was 5 years old when i first saw this

this theme will always give me chills haha

  • esto es cuando el cine era cine

  • @danokkkrock lmao...how does that make somebody a moron? They both sound similar to each other. Very similar.

  • danok took it like an insult. like the guy who said it meant it like, "oh shit, this sounds like msg, that means speed copied msg!" instead of just that they sound similar

  • this is so going in my favorites

  • One of my favorite movies! I love this soundtrack!

  • Otakon: Snake you can't slow down Metal Gear Rex of 50 mph, if you do you are gonna explode, liquid put a bomb in it... AND YOU have to stop liquid from launching that nuke!

    Snake: ...

When I have my mp3 in my car and this song comes out I get pump and tented of not slowing down no matter if i am in urban area or the highway I always wanna go beyond the SPEED limit AND yes the themes reminds me of mgs and SPEED alot, I love both themes equally. No hate on the MGS and speed fans. Peace

  • Jack never got a chance to eat his muffin.

  • 0:50-1:02 best part

  • Does everyone realize that this movie was out before the Metal gear reboot?

  • Metal Gear Solid music sounds like Speed theme.

    RIP Dennis Hopper

  • sounds like metal gear solid

  • Why does every moron who comes on to this video say the same thing? "It sounds like Metal Gear Solid". The tune you're referring to was written for MGS1, which was released in 1998 on the PS1. This movie was released in 1994. So a better way of saying it would be: "MGS sounds like Speed!"

  • @danokkkrock okay nerd don't have to freak out for such a trivial thing.

  • @danokkkrock as for me, 0:24 to 0:43 sounds like soundtrack from Battlefield Forgotten Hope :)

  • @danokkkrock All the music in all the Metal Gear games sounds like Hans Zimmer music. Whoever the composer is for Metal Gear is a rip off merchant.

  • @ojideagu Umm...well Harry Gregson-Williams did the Metal Gear music, and Mark Mancia did this soundtrack. "Gregson-Williams was a member of Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions (formerly known as Media Ventures) along with John Powell, Klaus Badelt, and Mark Mancina. During his first years in Media Ventures, he was mentored by Hans Zimmer and Nick Glennie-Smith which he has a a very close and great friendship with them." - Wikipedia on Harry Gregson-Wiliams. It all makes sense now eh?
