  • yeah, there's also a reason you sound that way... we can see on your face that you have this melody in your mind. You are expressing the notes, interpreting them even with your face muscles. simply nice man (Matthew ?)

what do you think about Yanagisawa Tenors?

  • sweet

  • You're great. Simple as that.

  • Matthew, your tone is sweet, and it's nice to hear you play. I wonder, have you considered PG Music's Band In A Box? Type in a chord progression, and generate up to five part backing tracks. With the new Real Tracks, you'll hear real audio, not MIDI backing. Plus, it's never the same backing tracks, twice in a row.

  • Wonderful feel to it :) Lovely sound the NT2A gives us :)

  • Dear CDD, just ignore the critics on any of your pieces, your instincts, and nearly all the performances, are all in the right direction,

  • You did a fantastic job on this, i was really looking for a sample of audio on the rode NT2-a mic and i found myself a reason to get the mic, keep it up

  • well I could have just sat and listened to that all day, great video. Thanks

  • Nice elavator music lol but its calming

  • Beautiful......Just sitting here with a Vodka and Orange.........Mellow! Yeah!!

  • excellent work indeed...great work....keep it up..:-)

  • excellent work indeed...thumbs up...keep it up...:-)..

  • very nice stuff. great smooth tone, wonderful phrasing! good stuff!

  • rode nt-2 woo!

  • I like how you are able to hear yourself to get this tone and diction. very nice man

  • A friend of me told me i had a "look alike" on YouTube... He was right, but I think you are a lot better. What sax are you playing? What moutpiece? which blade? - Great tunes and lovely soft played... Webster would also have given you a thumb up like Lester... :-)

  • Wonderful playing! Superb tone and taste. Thanks for sharing.

  • beautiful!

  • wow! i love it!

    Bravo!

  • great! so tasty and full of emotion; superb recording sound also; did you apply any eq or do we enjoy the unprocessed sound of the mic?

    yours

    michael

  • Beautiful, simply beautiful...

  • Superb Matthew

  • Hi, you've got a great sound......it's soft and full and one of the best here on youtube.

I also play tenor, soprano and alto......and I am still working to get my personel sound., You've got it already.........take care,

    Saxolinaful

  • You've come so far in such a short amount of time. Music really is your passion and it shows. Thanks for sharing and inspiring me to keep practicing. :O)

  • how can we call you? getz webster. what a feeling man. what a sound...

  • Hi listened to you for a while now and you give me great encouragement to continue playing the sax. You really must make a CD You put so much feeling in your playing and mean every note you play. keep the tunes comming.

  • Incredible musicianship and sound. Just a pure pleasure to listen too...

  • beautiful.........great tune.

  • Thank you Matthew. I like the slow numbers and love your playing of them, you have never let me down yet with a bad one.

  • Enjoyed the video.

    Thanks,

    Larry J

  • Bonjour!

It is always a renewed pleasure listening and seeing you play. You inspire me a lot and I really am grateful you take some of your precious time sharing this great gift of yours with all of us.

    Merci beaucoup,

    yours truly,

    Lakshman

  • Great tune brilliant playing. The video is very clear

  • This was my wife's and my song (for 40 years). I've honestly never heard it done better. But then I've been a fan since you first posted here. Love ya pal - and thanks ;-)

  • Beautiful, just beautiful.

  • Beautifully understated. Love the tone. Congrats!

  • I just cannot sit back, relax and smile when I hear such a great tune being played so effortlessly beautiful. The slight subtone perfectly matches the vibrato, solo melodies excite without causing offense or ruining the mood. I have a shelf full of 'classic' jazz albums, and a recording like this would sit very happily among it. Melodious to the end.

  • What mouthpiece do you use? Great sound!

  • Hey matthew nice to see you back and wonderfuly played as usual.

    Regards

    Chris

  • Man i heard about you a few days ago and have become hooked, this is great!

  • Nat's looking down on you with a smile when he hears this =) Beautifully played.

  • Hí Man,

the Horn Sings really today, and HD Quality on the Cam. Shooting, whish I had this also, Great!

    Johnny

  • Pure awesome, what else can I say, brilliantly smooth sound (you sound very much like Scott Hamilton), incredible stuff, can't wait to hear more!

  • This is again sooo sooothing... I really enjoy listening to your melodic improvisations. Thanks for sharing and please keep this brilliant stuff up :)

  • Tasteful. I'm sure Lester would be nodding along with a smile. So many players go for pyrotechnics and don't appreciate the nuances of melody. Glad to hear you again. BT

  • @TwainsBlues, cheers TB, nice to hear from you again

  • Backing track aebersold?

  • @magichristo yes it is from vol 110, "when I fall in love" a nice collection of stuff

  • Wow!! Slow songs are your speciality, Matthew. Again, the tone is excellent. I love your runs and dynamics and your use of ghost notes - I will never learn that, I'm afraid.

    Take care,

    Uli

  • @ulrichhoebler, cheers Ulli, always means a lot from you. Ghost notes= me finding the wrong note and smudging it up or down, it is a skill, I suppose :-)

  • Great, like always. You seem to have complete control and still look so relaxed. Amazing.

  • @iwivera, thanks for the sub by the way. I look relaxed, but its a bit like a swan.... underneath the water my little legs are kicking like crazy :-)

  • Great stuff!! I'm not far away from posting my own stuff up now! A few months i'd say =)

  • should i learn tenor or bari..... ??!!!!!!!

  • @tankbrute6 Hey man, I would start out on Tenor if I were you...Bari isn't much for a starting instrument...if you learn Tenor, it's not so hard to switch to Bari in the future, and you'll also be able to switch to Alto easier if you ever so choose.

  • @tankbrute6, which ever you really want to of course, but you'll make life a little more difficult for yourself with the Bari (still easier than a sop though). BUT it is an expensive option, and not that portable!

  • @tankbrute6 I play Bari, It's so much fun being able to overpower the others. That said, it's a pain in the arse to lug around and unless your planning on playing in either a swing band or saxophone quartet there's little you can do with one. Still. Its epic :')

However, every Bari sucks appart from stuff made by yanni, and that costs 3 to 4 grand. So it's pretty pricey!

  • @OCJT2007

You might be interested in Deep Schrott then. Worlds first bass saxophone quartet. Here on Youtube.

  • thanxs for the post!!

  • Awesome Job SIR

  • oh this song is amazing.

  • Its so calming that i feel more relax from coming school and this awe full heat

  • love that gene ammons tone.

you don't here that these days.

    very sweet playing.

    peace,

    rich
