Good work. I have the tabs to the short version if you want them. Grady and I worked on them together in 1998. I have them in Excel 95 format. These tabs are all of the background licks he played throughout the song, including that spiffy little riff behind "..wild as the West Texas wind..." referring to wild young cowboy who rode in. Really nice job, thanks. I've been working on this to play as an instrumental in our band and couldn't quite figure out that intro part. Thank You! Great sound out of the Jaguar too! BTW, it was Grady Martin, session player, who played on the original recording.
You did a fantastic job on this tutorial. Ive wanted to know how to play this for years and years. All the chord charts I've found have never really sounded right. I could never figure it out by ear because I'm not that talented. The way you play it sounds perfect. I'm so glad I can finally play this!
Thanks for taking the time to show us how to play this & other tunes. We (or I) appreciate all the help we can get...I've always loved this cool little introductory riff.
Write me at tlovelace at ykawoosh dot com for the tabs
