Primes r actually really good for with 2 boneswords and scything talons and toxic sacs will destroy everything and with a retuine with rending claws and deathspitter own even paladins!
Just want to say I play a guy who has a genestealer/lictor/zoanthrope in spores army. He starts with a grand total of zero models on the table then runs in from both sides and eats your face off. I think that's the only army in existence that I hate with equal passion whether I'm playing with it or against it (I play lots of 2 on 2 games. Being hung out to dry against two opponents for a turn or two is not fun)
@TRC270 The battleforces are good in that you basically get a discount on the individual things you get, and the Tyranid battleforce could realistically be entirely used in a good army (which is not common). Unfortunately, if you want a good army you're going to have to piece it together yourself, ideally with any tips you can find. But the battleforce is a good place to start.
i havent won a game against space wolves ever whilst using my nids please could you make a video explaining some tactics that could help me to defeat them (just some general stuff would be much appreciated)
@power2285 Yes, yes they are. At the moment, the main 3 over-powered armies are Imperial Guard, Space Wolves and Grey Knights, Grey Knights possibly the most powerful.
@GotikusIndustrialis sorry, but you are wrong. Standard Space Marines codex is really weak, other types are stronger. However, after new Necrons release Tau are maybe the weakest army in game, so... ;)
I am also a tryanid player and i think your a great player. I agree about the tervigon but do you think its needed to have regeneration. And anlaff no its not just a anorther carnifex because it has str 6 and 6 wounds and it can do pyhic powers. same cost and other things except leadership 10 i think
There's no official model for the Tervigon. From the ONE piece of official art, it seems to be somewhere between the size of the Carnifex and Trygon. Base size is also vague and can be that of the Carnifex or Trygon.
These videos inspire me. Even if you guys discuss an army I don't collect it's still cool to hear about other stuff. I hope there's more videos on tau soon. Oh and just a suggestion I think it would be cool for u guys to do videos on customising modles
I loved playing as tyranids, then grey knights came out. Psybolt Autocannons wipe out nearly any multiwound unit that's not monstrous, and since nids rely on melee, they find themselves slaughtered. The GK are able to counter them fairly easily unless you take a million genestealers. Even then, they have those stupid grenades. I mean good god. I went after a venerable gk dreadnaught with 3 carnifexes squadded with a prime, and because of its rerolls and power to negate shake/stun, I did nothing.
Prime- 2 are good, but only in a warriorspam army
Parasite of Mortrex- Awesome, pushed into weak unit can quickly create huge swarm of rippers in the middle of enemy's army. The only problem is that it's hard to get so much ripper swarm bases.
@enjoyandhavefun99 They do have tactics, but you did mention their main one. The real difficulty is making an army that can do that without getting shot to pieces first.
Something based om my own experience... Though it doesn't seem like the best idea at a first glance, give it Toxin Sacs and, if you have the points, Toxic Miasma.
Toxin Sacs - 4++ To Wound is statistically better than 2+
Toxic Miasma - A model always fails the test on a 6. Therefore, 1/6 chance of dealing an extra wound to ANYTHING that has wounds, ignoring its Toughness.
The Prime's ability to boost Warrior Stats is nice, but actually not where it shines the best. Attaching it to OTHER squads is the key.
Ex: Equipped with Lashwhip+Bonesword and teamed up with 2-3 Hive Guard somewhere away from the main force and out of LOS. The Hive Guard get Synapse so they don't have to shoot at nearest target, the Prime has T6 things to pass S10 wounds to and can deter potential assaults because of its weapons.
There is actually one situation where Pyrovores work:
You MIRACULOUSLY have them assault or get assaulted by Terminators.
Why:
The Termies will overkill the Pyrovores and pay for it due to a loophole. The Pyrovores will take more Power Weapon wounds then the maximum wounds that the squad has, most likely all in the same Initiative Phase. Because everything was inflicted at the EXACT same time, ACID BLOOD triggers for each wound inflicted, despite it going past the the maximum.
Nearly all Marine Dex´s are overpowerd except BT and probably DA (No Idea about these). And as a primary Tau Player more than half of my units in codex are useless.
@GotikusIndustrialis Please tell me you're joking because, bar Grey Knights and some Space Wolf builds, Space Marines are in no way overpowered. Like, not even close to it.
@GotikusIndustrialis The only op Marine Dex's out there are Grey Knights and sometimes Space Wolves. Blood Angels aren't, Dark Angels certainly aren't, Vanilla Marines certain as hell aren't, Black Templars aren't. You play Tau who suffer greatly from old Codex syndrome and the fact that you can't shoot underneath your devilfish anymore, thank the Emperor. Come spring, and you'll likely have an op Codex and nothing to complain about.
im debating wether or not i should switch my prime & warriors with a hive tyrant, the main purpose of the warriors was to clean up anything that my first units couldnt kill however i keep seeing them die to the last power fist sargent/nob in the squad, a tyrant with gaurd will definately last longer but im not sure if they can do the job quickly enough, plz help
2 primes with lash wip and sword in a unit of 10 termagants with 2 troop tervagons is one of the best starts. Then, 3 trygons, 9 hive guard, and a bunch of gargoyles should make up the rest. This is pretty much one of the top lists out there.
I think there called gargoyles? the flying ones are what id like to know a little about xP being a big spacemarine and inqusition player Ive not yet had the chance to learn much about these nids
@Fyzz4life In a really big point cost tyranid army, I've never seen any Tyranid player NOT take him(as in they always do take him). I don't play tyranids, but I know from experience that the Swarm Lord in a 1500 point or higher army is a bitch to kill and destroys anything it enters in close combat. The only problem is it costs A LOT to use it, which is why it only really appears in big games.
Good work! Similar videos to other factions would be awsome! If you don't got any experience with that faction just bring someone who got some :D Really enjoyd this video :)

My opinion of Tyranid HQ:
Hive Tyrant- too expensive
Swarmlord- Absolutly too expensive
Tervigon- the best one
Prime- 2 are good, but only in a warriorspam army
Parasite of Mortrex- Awesome, pushed into weak unit can quickly create huge swarm of rippers in the middle of enemy's army. The only problem is that it's hard to get so much ripper swarm bases.
