  • @nosmohttff Thanks very much for your comment, it's great to have someone from Norway on watching. Thanks.

  • beautiful storms that had captured ... this very good video

    ... congratulations for the video

  • Thanks Davidstorm0, haven't seen any more convection since. Cheers.

  • Nice video. I was out on the same day (driving to Limavady). I saw some beautiful mammatus clouds at the edge of a CB. Really need to get a camera!

  • Thanks, glad you seen the mammatus on the same day. I hope you get a camera soon because we need more storm photographers in NI to cover these events over a wider area. There's some amazing things happening from time to time. You must have seen cool sights in the past from the plane too. Best of luck!

  • LOL!! A tin of roses, I haven't had one of those since I left New Zealand 25 years ago. Good chockies.

  • LOL, you haven't had roses in 25 years!!!!....I would go mental. Just kidding, but seriously I do love roses, great chockies as you said. Cheers

  • Amazing skies there!! Must have made for a nice Halloween treat! 5 Stars!!

  • Thanks, it's the first time I've ever seen good convection on Halloween, that was a real treat for me!. I enjoyed eating a tin of Roses after that lol. Thanks for the rating.

  • Huge convective clouds on a special day as Halloween :D would have much cold air in height to generate these storm clouds and with such force, the summer however, generate electrical activity but in this case with cold and low-contrast surface between the surface of the earth and the atmosphere is not capable of generating electricity.

    5 stars :)

  • Thanks Supercellstorm, it was a treat to see such strong convection on Halloween..that's a new one for me. There where storms in N. Ireland and Republic that day, not easy to get with little solar heating but coastal areas get it more interesting with warmer sea temps at this time of year. Thanks for the rating.

  • All that convection was due to solar heating of the day, and even, temperate waters that were the trigger mechanism for the clusters that you could shoot.

Greetings and thanks for the reply.

  • Thanks for the info, that fits in with what I observed because during the late afternoon the convection

rapidly died when the temp dropped. There were very good lapse rates though which helped with the thunder.

  • There was some lightning near Cookstown but I didn't see it. Would loved to have some on Halloween night!

I hope next year is as good for storms. 2009 has been a real treat.

  • Thanks for the info, I didn't know that, wouldn't be amazing to get lightning and fireworks at the same time - gets my blooding pumping thinking about it. Roll on 2010.
