  • amazing, phatastic, wonder ful akinny beautiful gilr, i love you.

  • Awesome!

  • The most punk thing I've ever seen. real and raw and from her entire heart, entire soul, body, being. awesome. <3

  • I saw her live once. SHE GOT ME MORE WORKED UP THAN ANY OTHER ROCKER OR ROCK BAND IN MY LIFE.

  • MARAVILHOSA!.FANTÁSTICA. O QUE É JUSTIN BIBER PERTO DE PATTI? LIXO, LIXO. TANK YOU!

  • This is what all music should aspire to become. If some of todays artists watch this video, they will understand they are not fit to be on stage.

  • Pra molecada punk rock, lá de onde o punk começou

  • Often imitated but never bettered, Patti Smith is THE greatest female artist ever.

  • i love this so much its raw poetry and emotion i wish i was alive in this moment so much

  • This is fucking perfection. THIS is music, kids.

  • I preffer it when the name of the Band is "HUCK YOU!" on BBC

  • So wild, so dirty, so poetic, so free, Patti Smith rules!!

  • Such energy! She is amazing here.

  • AWWW SHIT!

  • this has me

  • She began the Punk Era - thank you Patti!!!!!!!!!!!

  • love you patti...

  • Ah. Combining bits of your songs into one. This should have been the original "Land" on the LP and the CD, with the "drove it in" bits, etc.

  • When singing doesn't work, scream crap into the mic!

  • @nitr0burn No, no, no. Scream "Shit!" into the microphone.

    And go Patti!

  • PATTI~The God-Mother of Punk!!!!

  • I first saw her at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. The best show in my life. I've been in love ever since.

  • the queen la reina never equalled

  • 4 EVER PATTI.

  • GENIAL!!!!

  • They were twisted and weird times Apopoc. But you want here something even more weird? I was and am a die-hard Deadhead! Ya see its about energy, sometimes pure maddness, sometimes not so much. I see a lot of the same things. Patti could quiet a joint down in a minute, Kimberly, Horses, Redondo beach...Thanks, TS

  • Wow, memories of CBGBs where she brought the roof down. Richard Hell and the Void Doids, Lou Reed, Ramones, hells kitchen and the bowlry rocked in NYC. The stories I could tell. Grand opening of the CBGB THeater were the cops closed her down mid show for people dancing in the aisles as a fire hazzard. riot cops lining the place

  • @thegunnydog Men, you cannot imagine how I envy you for being able to witness all that.

Those were different times, or so I heard someone said. ;)

  • @Apopoc It was a horrible, dark time. To get an idea of it, listen to "Frankie Teardrop" by Suicide. Patti used to write to me and she wrote for my zine, MODERN GIRLZ. BIKINI GIRL is STILL SOLD at GERM Bookstore in Phily, and there's even a video issue! I am Lisa Baumgardner in the book by MoMA, MODERN WOMEN, mentioned on 6 pages, and I got 3 color plates. The Sex Pistols and later Madonna copied some of my styles. Fact! This song is about her late friend, Joey Land, stupidly od'd.

  • @thegunnydog When I first saw her live in Cleveland, a 45 was cut -- John Cale was on bass, and I later met up with him in NY. He coveted my guitar and borrowed it once to play live. She was so good at the Agora in Cleveland, this was late 1975 or early 1976, women were staring, shaking and weeping. She played two nights. We were pleasantly surprised when she gave a free poetry reading in Central Park in the early 1990s. Hot, dark night, and her sister played a zither or something -- good!

  • Horses is the album, Land is the song

  • @iamfamou Yes, Joey Land is who this song was for. He was very rich and stupidly and tragically od'd on recreational heroin some years back. M. Henry Jones was devastated -- his work dried up! He lost a patron. Check out the movie SOUL CITY -- I am the one who hand-tinted those flesh tones on the Fleshtones! Zaremba was my first boyfriend. BIKINI GIRL is still offered by GERM Bookstore in Philly. Very good comment.

  • I got goosebumps

  • the name of the song is "land" not "horses"

  • @ksparbanie Yes, named for Joey Land, RIP.

  • whaat!!?? only 20,846??

    WTF

  • She still performs. See her in NYC.

  • buenisimoo shit! (8)

  • better than Blondie crap.

  • "shit!!...holly shit!!"

  • SHE'S GOD.

  • Was this in Sweden? You were there? Lucky you...

  • God... She was, and still is, such a bad ass. She's so talented. I adore her.

  • I love Patti. Has anyone seen Gilda Radner doing Candy Slice (it's on youtube), inspired by Patti (even though Patti didn't drink or do drugs)?

  • @TheBlueGuitarMan Patti didn't do drugs; hard to believe, Harry.

  • Somewhere I have this album on vinyl..Just haven't played it in many years. Forgot how rockin Patti was/is

  • Scrawny b*tch. Deliberately dressed down. What a major butt kicker! From the first time I heard this song, I had to find out more about her. Power in her performance is undeniable. You can't help but be seduced and mesmerized by her. Kicking band here too.

  • Is her zipper open?

  • amazing! greatest female alive?

  • I love this woman!!!!!

  • love her so...

  • The greatest ever!

  • awsome

  • PATTI IS THE GREATEST!!! GO, PATTI, GO! everytime I'm sad I just hear this song and Voilà! I'm agressive (against my problems) instead of depressive. Patti drive me high!

  • And to think I thought she was Martha Quinn of MTV in the 80s, wtf.

  • this is awsome!!! I want to live in the 70's the PUNK era!!!!!!!! x

  • @kellierenshaw It was a dark and frightening time. Suicide's "Frankie Teardrop" realled summed it up. Patti used to write for my zine, she was nice. BIKINI GIRL is still available at GERM Bookstore in Philly online. The song "land" is actually about Joey Land, her friend, who od'd and died just a few years ago.

  • @kellierenshaw it was the very best time to be alive! you were part of something

it was the best if i could turn back time lol aaaaaaah to be a punk again now i am

just an old punk but i would not have missed it for the world there is nothing original

anymore its like a copy of a copy of a copy

  • WOW!!!

Just curious, but was I the only teenage hormone driven male that jerked off(again and again) to this song? It worked every time...

  • wow.

    thank you for posting
