Susan did do what women do all the time as far as making a few changes with her appearance. But, in her 47 years, before television, she was happy with the way she was. I don't believe she made these changes for herself. She only did it because of the attention focused on her looks. A person should never change who they are to please someone else.

Jenna, I don't know the reasons behind Susan's decision to make minor changes in her appearance, however in reading her bio it seems that this woman, self described as being unemployed, may not of had the disposal income to afford, even minor luxuries as a hair style.
