  • It's Brilliance how the Weeknd could take something like this and make it his own, give it a completely different vibe. I love Montreal.

  • april march did an english version as well as a french version

  • Thumbs up if The Weeknd brought you here!! "Montreal"

  • Thank God the comments ain't filled with greeks and polish...

  • @quashky Spierdalaj ;p

  • The Weeknd

  • The Weeknd - Montreal <3

How do you take a song like this and come up with Montreal? The Weeknd is a musical prodigy!

  • j'aime trop cette musique, elle me fait délirer! XD

  • XO

  • THE WEEKND ♥

  • the weeknd

  • yup, abel brought me here. #montreal #xotillweod

  • The Weeknd slowed it down and turned it into something dark and ominous like his music.

  • MONTREAL

  • Ahhh ce cher Abel....

  • LOL i like how the weeknd took this song, twisted it and made it deep

  • Montreal <3

  • omg omg weeknd omg

  • What's the original song? It song's familiar....

  • @xXPurpleLoliTranceXx you might have recognized the english version by April March, but this is the original, words and music by the famous Serge Gainsbourg. :)

  • @jeanleto2 FYI April March has francish version too

  • @WrynnCZ Yes, Thanks for writing it, and with a cute accent!

  • April March sung this song in english. This is a song wrote by Serge Gainsbourg.

It's writen in Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof.

  • This song sung by France Gall was made in 1964!!!! April March was born in 1965!!! and just because she remade the song doesn't mean she is "stealing it"... I think it's just showing respect to a good song and putting her own spin on it.... I like both versions...

  • @Macaframa1 Amen. I can't stand people who claim that someone is "stealing" a song when they obviously had to ask that person to use their property in the first place!

It is out of a respect for the song that they are remaking it!

  • Could listen to this all day & I have, honest!

  • I'm currently listening to Laisse tomber les filles by France Gall

  • merci quel bonheur

  • So April March steals her stuff ey?

  • @kingofallwhites I would not say that. She made a completely new version. She translated it herself from French to English. Her version is worthwhile. I like both.

  • @kingofallwhites not really, it's just a translated cover, but i'm pretty sure that's official and she payed for it, as cover artists normally do.

  • Orale!!! Esta sick este chune

  • Just love that voice..she is a knockout!

  • @coolhandluke1889 This is part of Apple's iLife Sound Effects. Bunch of sounds bundled you can use in iMovie etc. This one is part of the Jingle category and named "Pastel Slide". No author specified of course :(

  • Hey jeanleto2 you are JUST an uploader there is no need to take it so personal and answer to everybody's comment...

    Thank you for the upload

  • I heard (and loved) April March's version long before this one, so now it feels like France Gall stole the idea. I'm a native French speaker. FAIL

  • @lesSylvains I understand it looks like she stole her the idea… But in fact it is the other way around! I love both versions. I listen to this one more often. And, there is a another French version out these days, the proof that the original stands up and inspires the younger ones. I shall say: "We need to show respect !"

    ;)

  • Both of them stole the idea from Serge Gainsborough.

  • @jeanleto2 agreed!!!!!!!!!

  • @lesSylvains Hey le Francophone ! Rendons à Gainsbourg ce qui appartient à Gainsbourg !

  • @ameliecrotale Tu as raison, je m'incline !

  • @lesSylvains But, if you check the year, there's no big deal to understand who had the idea first... And you have to know that it's Gainsbourg who wrote the lyrics... ^^

  • @lesSylvains

um, she is gorgeous, for sure. But she can't sing? AT ALL? ouch!

  • @DasypusN Rubbish.

  • I love this song soooo much it's GREAT, she's gorgeous and her fashion style is fantastic!

  • She's so beautiful

  • en lefko 87,7

  • fucking intro...

  • @JohnFonts Thanks for positive comment!

  • @jeanleto2 I posted the video on facebook, and like people heard the intro and stop watching the video, and now they are telling me that i have bad taste in music, so yeah buddy, FUCKING INTRO!... :L

  • @JohnFonts what about deep link? like watch?v=JVA670WKAQc#t=0m14s :)

  • @JohnFonts va te faire enculer

  • l'époque déchirer

  • This is fab but it doesn't have the vibe of the Fabienne Delsol cover ...

  • je adore

  • the french version is a bit more melancholic i like them both the cover and this the same.

  • 5 personnes ne laissent pas tomber les filles.

  • This is so cool, I fucking wish I could understand her.

  • @ahhhndy April March did a good translation of it: "Chick Habit". Little harsher, but I think she did a great job of adapting Serge Gainsbourg's lyrics into this century.

  • @ahhhndy Do you want a translation?

  • @vavadu31000 No I don't need it thank's.

  • Vive La France!

  • WAH WAH WAH!

  • looks so much better as a brunette

  • Not bad;but I like the April March version better.

  • @98bigbutt

Plus, she IS rather cute to! *tee hee hee*

  • me encanta gracias france gall

  • so the song i luv came out in 64'? please someone reply? thx : ]

  • @722erodz please read the info about this video

  • @722erodz wan't born yet...

  • @722erodz wasn't born yet...

  • @722erodz Yes it came out in 64, when this singer France Gall was huge in France. She had a pretty long succesful career, she released many big hits until the early 90's

  • sounds-like a DIFFERENT Recording than the One used for Her SCOPITONE Music-"Video" !!!

  • @thePharoah90650 The music if from the triple-CD box-set which is the compilation of [almost] everything from the 1963-1968 Philips / Polydor Era.

  • very beautiful vid , bravo !

  • el frances es tan sexy amo ese idioma

  • @jeanleto2 what's the song in the beginning? plz do reply....

  • @lakshp87 This clip was made with iMovie. Apple have included some royalty-free sounds [loops] to use when editing. This one is called Chelsea Loft [Part of Apple Loops/iLife Sound effects/Jingles]. Sorry no author, etc. to refer to. :~(

  • Omg..that start...I LOVE IT..

  • death proof haha good movie :D with the beauty ZOE BELL!!!!

  • Lady Gaga,Amy Winehouse,Britney,Xtina GO AWAY!!!.....learn from the truly diva masters France Gall,Dusty Springfield,Petula Clark,Elaine McFarlane.,,,,40 plus years and still people likes it....

  • they were playing this version at the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Premiere afterparty tonight. Perhaps in tribute to Mary Elizabeth Winstead

  • hmm so this is the origanal? i like her voice, its very smooth but i prefer the april march version :p

  • @rafaelLEE93 Both versions are great and are representative of the time they were recorded at. April March version has much harsher lyrics which would have not been possible to sing in 1964. Musically France's version is a true yeah-yeah gem.

  • @rafaelLEE93 This IS the original. Both versions are great. The English translation by April March is harsher. In line with Tarentino's movies.

  • France Gall rocks, forget todays music its not happy enough:)

  • Blonde ou fausse blonde?

  • @Harmonieuniverselle Elle est devenue blonde aux alentours de 15 ans. Elle l'est restée depuis.

  • What is the trumpet song at the end? at 2:25?

  • @videodude4 I You want to know the title of it ? It's just a fill-in to animated the characters of the credits.

  • @videodude4 Yeah, if its and un named and just a fill/effects song that is not by a real artist then I understand. I am not sur eif its an actual song though..

  • I just downloaded this mp3 at mp3iffy. Check that site out - its sick. Google mp3iffy

  • "April March is better"... 40 years after the original release, it's easy to do a high-tech remake that seems to sound "better". I like April March, and it's great that she has saved this song from oblivion, but if you listen closely the peculiar quality of France Gall's voice is unique.

  • she is beautiful

  • It's quite good, you're right! You should see what niniblack has done with it. Just search his hame in YouTube to check, currently it's the 2nd result. Ciao !

  • wow its nice animated :)

  • preferida.

  • Whats the Song in the Beginning?

  • This clip was made with iMovie. Apple have included some royalty-free sounds [loops] to use when editing. This one is called Chelsea Loft [Part of Apple Loops/iLife Sound effects/Jingles]. Sorry no author, etc. to refer to. :~(

  • @OriginalBeagle did u find out the song in the beginning?

  • @lakshp87 the guy told me it´s an music-theme in iMovie.

So ask him for more Details.

    I forgot it;)

  • @lakshp87 the guy told me it´s an music-theme in iMovie.

    I forgot it;)

  • @OriginalBeagle thanks :)

  • TheyH8MePoopsie: You tell 'im, poopsie!

    Mothra bows!

  • 1:44 lady gaga :noel:

  • This song and artist is from the 60's. I don't really like the artist today. There is nobody like France Gall. I go to these videos to get away from the music today and you and you had to bring up Lady Gaga. Way to throw it in our face. We come in here to enjoy a good oldie song and you had to remind us of Lady Gaga.

    Way to go asshole!

  • I think tranquille999 meant that the big eyeglasses France is wearing at 1:44 made him think of Lady Gaga with similar oversized goggles. Search YouTube with Lady Gaga & Noel, you'll find the clip. I don't really care about Lady Gaga, some how a younger emulation of Madonna, but there are a lot of talented newer artists [Emiliana Torrini, Feist, Eleni Mandell, etc, etc.] usually not recording on the majors.

  • @TheyH8MePoopsie LOL, hey if it wasn't for April March, I'd probably never would have heard France Gall, so I can give her thanks for that!

  • @TheyH8MePoopsie (top rated comment, of course)

I agree with u, mainstream music can b real TRASH -"especially" the 1 from U.S- because it comes from people without talent that R definitely NOT artists. Well, this comes from a person that also enjoys this kind of music 2...i think LG is an artist, maybe not the best, but her music is kinda different and she knows what she's doing. Well ur commnt is old and Gaga has changed a LOT, so what do u think of her now?

PS: Dnt kill me PLEASE! :3

  • @TheyH8MePoopsie Agreed!

  • Well, I think voxtelnismo may be right actually. I like France Gall and luckily there are many videos here, but check out the Alizée videos on here. You don't know hotness until you do.

  • Buck up

  • jeanleto: Fair question. Giant moth from the 60s Japanese horror film. Like everyone, suffering from the economic slowdown. Currently circling the earth from miles above, and monitoring, well, simply everything. Unlike much of the drivel posted on YouTube, your efforts have pleased Mothra. Again, thanks (from way up here!) Yer Kewl!

  • voxtelismo: Re: Percentage of hotness: get a grip and/or life.

Doesn't it suck that Q Tarantino has been there already?!

jeanleto: Thank you for the most wonderful post! Mothra bows..!

  • Thx ! Who is Mothra?

  • Excellent, en plus, belle

  • This ****in' rocks! Luv this track.

  • It's so good, that's why it stands in time ;~)

  • les mec L'aisse tomber les filles lol

  • ..excelente..excelente..excelente !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanx :~]

  • France Gall isthe most beautiful girl I have ever seen.

  • But that was 45 years back!

  • Yes mate but beauty is eternal. These are pictures of her when she was 16/17 and a bit older? At this stage, she's just so beautiful...

*sigh* I wish girls nowadays wore hairs like hers..

  • 30% of her hotness is her frenchness. they may have given us the finger on the war in iraq, but their chicks are still teh hot

  • French women are, to my opinion, naturally beautiful. I have seen so many western girls but none of them possess such strong features as those of France Gall's. She just drives me mad!

  • Quite understandably :~)

  • searched after looking death proof almost as cool as chick habit

  • Surely as cool as "Chick Habit" considering it was recorded in 1964 ;~)

    Thx for commenting!

  • Ahhhh..... way better than chick habit :)

  • que hermosa era,,,!!!

    me hubiera gustado conocerlA
