  • kirk was finished . it was picards st tng revival that made these turds and janeway famous. for a while but picard carried on being famous movies while voyager and kirk became unknown turds again

  • Busty, bosomy, well-endowed, voluptuous Marina Sirtis as Conselor Troi, her huge, well-developed, milk-filled tits even bigger in this movie in a tight costume.

  • This movie hasnt aged well at all. Watching it now its nothing but a glorified episode, and a C+ one at that. Horribly unimaginative and an utter waste

  • Remember getting really excited for this film when I was 11.

At the time I was a huge TNG fan and liked the TOS films. (Bar 1 & 5). When I saw the trailer I thought it was gonna be Kirk going back in time to kick some ass with the Enterprise D crew.

When I saw the film at the cinemas I was already disappointed ten minutes into the film because all the Kirk based action I saw in the trailer that I thought was on the Enterprise D was on the Enterprise B.

The rest as they say is history.

  • Wow. So many shots in this that are not even from the movie.

  • Is that Miguel Ferrer narrating?

  • I have to say, much better than the longer 2-minute trailer for Star Trek Generations I watched just now before I watched this one, especially the fact this trailer doesn't show how the Enterprise gets destroyed or anything, and it doesn't show too much of what happens, it's not just the whole movie compressed into a matter of minutes like the 2-minute trailer I watched. :-)

  • we were the same age when i saw this film. i understood it back then.... whole family are a bunch of trekkers

  • This was a great movie and my favorite of the entire series of movies. old and new Cast.

  • Nero came back in time and fucked this shit up. Maybe in another timeline this movie didn't suck? I guess we'll never know.

  • I Like this Movie, but it wasted to much Potential!

  • this was a sweet trailer. it actually made me want to see the movie when i was younger. too bad it turned out to be a piece of shit

  • If Kirk was going to die on a bridge he should have been on board a starship and not along some rocky cliff. But with Rick Berman and Brannon Braga fucking around with the franchise there was no hope of this movie ever succeeding. Shatner should have stayed away from this.

  • What a wasted opportunity, this film was.

The biggest wasted opportunity of all time.

  • I still remember the trill of seeing that trailer. Pre-internet, you only knew a movie was coming out by seeing trailers. And when the Enterprise flew over your head in the end, wow. The Enterprise-D never moved that fast in the show it seemed. Seeing it on the big screen...

  • A lot of people hate this movie but I love it. It's the best Star Trek movie. I don't care if they recycled the special effects, that's not what makes a movie good anyway. This movie is about being a hero even when it's tempting not to be one. It's about remembering our duty to help other people even when we're far away and can't hear their screams. Kirk and Picard have wonderful lives in the Nexxus, but they leave it to save those who need them, and that's what makes them heroes.

  • @darmokandgalad Damn, those are some wise words there. I don't see why people flame this movie, probably because they destroyed the enterprise D and killed Kirk, but I found it to be one of the greatest, if not the best, Star Trek movie ever made.

  • @darmokandgalad I'm glad SOMEONE else gets the point!

  • Great movie, it doesnt deserve the hate it gets, but this trailer kinda sucks.. just makes it seem like an excuse to have Picard and Kirk together when it really isnt..

  • While this is not the worst in the franchise, the trailer looks much more epic than the final result.

  • ummm a bunch of these scenes weren't from this movie. Like 0:55

  • it looks like it sould have been a good movie

  • Omanoscar makes a good point, what the mistake was is to put the TNG t.v. production crew in charge of the new TNG movie. Most of them had never work on a major motion picture.

  • I was an eleven year old trekkie when this movie came out. What I've realized as i grew older was that this project was driven mostly by sentiment, not continuity. There was a need to replace the aging original cast with the TNG cast in such a way that the original fans wouldn't feel cheated. No easy task. Also, remember that this was the first film of the franchise produced after the death of gene Roddenberry.

  • 1:04 wasthat the Bozeman

  • @Dekkamaster365 Yep. From Cause and Effect.

  • I don't remember that being in the movie...

  • I liked it too, but it doesn't tie up the loose ends of what happened to Chekov, Scotty, Bones, or Uhura. Was this covered in some episode of The Next Generation? Don't worry about spoilers, I want to know!

  • Bones was still alive by 2364 (Encounter at Far Point); Scotty was on his way to retirement but got himself stuck in a transport until 2368 (Relics). I think some of the books had Uhura as the head of Starfleet Intelligence during the Dominion War, and that Chekov was an admiral during the war as well.

  • I saw the movie last Saturday night it kick ass and I recommend that everybody see it.

  • I remember being quite shocked in seeing Kirk and Picard in the same scene when this trailer first came out. Since the Internet was in its infancy in 1994, the entertainment industry could still surprise most people. Today the entire plot of Generations would be all over the imdb before the film even began shooting.

  • Paramount: "We need a teaser, but we didn't finish the special effects. I know, we can recycle scenes from older episodes... Some random phaser shots, a random Nebula flying around, sure that will do!"

    ::later::

Paramount: "We're over budget and behind schedule and we STILL need a bird of prey explosion special effect. What will we do?! Let's do like we did with the teaser and recycle scenes! Hey, wasn't that a bird of prey in ST6? Let's recycle that. The audience will never know!"

  • This movie... HOW? HOW can you screw up Captain James T. Kirk, the rough-and-tumble wonaizer and explorer, meeting Captain Jean-Luc Picard, the intellectual and diplomat, in a movie?!?!

    HOW?!

Luckily with the Trek reboot they have another shot... sort of. They will have to, eventually, just out of public demand I think, do something about Shatner's Kirk.

Which means going back to the old universe- Picard's universe.

Save Data. Save Shatner's Kirk. Give TNG a good sendoff.

  • I stand corrected but the resemblance between Soyuz and Miranda is striking which makes them almost impossible to distinguish from that angle. Although I believe that the effect used to make the ship appear in the scene is typical only for "Cause and Effect".

  • Scratch, scratch... I don't recall an old Federation ship (possibly Miranda class?) apearnig from nowhere in this movie?

  • It didn't - that was the Soyuz-class USS Bozeman from the 5th season TNG episode "Cause and Effect"

To be fair, one of the three ships that picked up the Enterprise survivors was Miranda-class though

  • data had quite a laugh there

  • if there are 2 things Malcolm McDowell will be remembered for, its Clockwork Orange and being the guy who Killed Captain James T. Kirk.

  • i hate the fact bill shatners character is dead but anyways something to cheer you up on the next star trek movie with the new crew two options one they replace kahn or bring old kirk back

  • well i would imagine that Shatner has realized what a mistake he made in not taking that cameo offer so now hopefully they will have him in the next one and if they do a third, Id like to see George Takei or Walter Koenig. Its too bad that DeForest Kelly and James Doohan couldnt be around to make any appearances.

  • I saw this movie when I was about six years old, and obviously had no clue what was going on at any given time except when Data was doing something funny. I wonder if it's worth diving into now that Star Trek finally makes sense to me.

  • Not one of my favourites (at all). But I suppose that's because I never really enjoyed the spin-offs of the original series.

  • I disagree this movie was fantastic

  • What exactly was fantastic? The bazillions of plot holes? If you listen to the commentary on the dvd, even the writers agree it was pretty much a botched operation.

  • @80smusicfanNO1 overall yalight ( poor attempt at saying your right in a sottish accent) though the movie had its monents... i.e." "... Captain of the Enterprise huh?""that right" "Close to retirement?""Im not planning on it..."" etc... I love that part

  • Soooooooooo much wasted potential with this movie.

  • I heard originally the full original cast were to appear in this film, but Leonard Nimoy refused, cos he was only offered a cameo role with no part in the plot. Then Deforest Kelly ("Bones") said if he's not appearing then neither am I, ect. Also, I guess it would have been a little difficult to script, cos there would have been like 14 main players, not counting Malcom McDowell, ect!

  • Oh, god, I remember seeing this trailer when I was 5 years old. I instantly recognized Kirk on the horse and I didnt know that was Picard until his close-up was shown. It was then that I went FUCKING CRAZY!!!!

PICARD AND KIRK IN THE SAME MOVIE?!?!?!?!

    SCOTTY WILL BE THERE TOO?!

LOOK AT THOSE BIRDS OF PREY LAND IN THE SUN!!!

    DATAS LAUGHING? AWESOME!!!

IS THAT KHAN IN THE RELIANT COMING BACK FROM THE DEAD?!!!

HOLY FUCK!!!!! THIS WILL BE THE GREATEST THING EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It obviously wasnt that cool, but I still had a blast seeing it when it finally came out. Great memories. Thanks a lot of posting this video!

  • Thats no reliant, thats the Bozeman.

  • wtf Reliant?!?

  • BRING BACK KIRK!

  • Yep... that's exactly where its from. I had seen it years ago when I rented the movie. I recently found a used copy and bought it to see if it was on it... Success! It doesn't seem to exist anywhere else. Weird.

  • It should be on the 2004 DVD release of the film but it wasn't (and I wonder why?!)

  • It's also on the official Star Trek website. Simply go to the Series and Movies tab and find Star Trek Generations. Once at the movie's page on the website go to media. It's on the media page of the film. It should say "Star Trek Generations Teaser Trailer."

  • Its listed on the box as a special feature, but I guess they couldn't get it together by the time the DVD released.

  • I know where this is from. It's the trailer for Star Trek Generations which was attached to the VHS release of Naked Gun 33 1/3.

  • No kidding and so was the second trailer to the VHS release of Nobody's Fool.

  • I have been waiting a while for someone to put this up! Thanks a bunch!
