  • I just went to get ingredients for the Master Cleanse to the local Health Food Store, but they ran out of Grade B Maple Syrup, so I gave Walmart a try (no organic maple syrup there, lol, I should have known), and I SAW what people shopping for food in W had in there carts and OMG I'm so glad I found these videos and met inspiring raw vegans to stop stuffing myself with poison like those overweight Americans and understand how delicate body health is and how vital it is to have a fulfilling life!

  • Not that I don't agree, but the bitch sure knows how to preach. wow.

  • anyone know where i can buy organic ho-hos or devildogs? I want to eat healthier

  • This is like more of a rant than advice. They were good points though

  • Another excellent video!

  • i think you should make a video nutrition for athletes because i'm an athlete i do flag football and track.

  • Comment removed

  • wow im healthier than you, i eat hotdogs every fuck'n day, and yes i do have a six pack

  • OH, COME ON! Have you seen how much chicken breast costs at woolies/coles/IGA & FOODLAND? It's so expensive and it's easy to say SO WHAT but what about the fact that the cost of groceries are going up almost every single day, due to things like natural disasters, recessions, taxes etc? Plus its all the hidden traps that cause ppl to gain weight like health food bars, they are a NO NO because some of them actually contain more sugar than a chocolate bar so that is where ppl get so confused.

  • @m3rmaid1985 it's not natural, it sucks ass!

  • @ch6ysgdt

not all....I hear Japanese people are one of the healthiest

  • @JasonBourne342 They come here and become fat like Americans.

The fact is that a few suppliers are controlling the food supplies.

Frozen dinners and take out dinners are a reason why America is getting fatter.

It is funny how certain politicians think child hood obesity is a joke and to laugh at. This is where we need to start. If our children are going to be fatter than us in 30 years, how is America going to look in 100 years or more?

It is just sad. Got a love this video. Thanks. Natalie

  • I like to eat dogshit

  • I cook from the scratch ,always, and I'm proud! and I'm happy I found you here...you are my soul!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • think ireland has the worst everything cause all the healthy stuff is deaerer than the shit stuff like seriously i hate ireland england has even better pricing

  • People put too much of a priority on time. Thats why we cant eat healthy. I have this theory of pay-now-or-pay-later in life. People dont have 5 minutes to make lunch each night yet they will die 10 years earlier do to not spending that time?. if you pay now and spend 5 minutes of your time, you wont have to pay later by dying early. Its just like school, the unpopular pay now through ridicule, yet the popular pay later through lack of success. wouldnt you rather pay earlier? i would think so.

  • What great, honest scientific info. I just found you today online randomly - I love what you do. Keep it up. You are going to get through to people. I own a restaurant that offers whole food options. People can make their choice that way. I hope to eventually offer ONLY whole foods - people will have to evolve first. For now - balance - the stuff is available if they make that decision to be healthy. Anyway - Lots of love! You rock!

  • she probably a nurse

  • Most people are lazy fat bastards now.

  • I lost my job last year so I stopped eating fast food cos I'm now on a budget. I saved a lot of money and lost over 20 lbs that I had gained from eating too much fast food without exercise. That's enough reasons to keep me away from fast food places for good.

  • shut da fuck up bitch, suck my cock and drink its cum!!

  • why would anyone want fast food over homemade? homemade food tastes X1900000 better

  • yeah, and the fact that wen u cook any vegetable. Most of the nutrients are lost.

  • I eat out a lot and I am trying to stop. But grocery store foods are NOT that much cheaper if at all! When I go to the store and buy some Fruit and Vegetables I end up spending 30 bucks and they only last me like 3 days! And that's not even organic! Then I bought some super foods and spent almost 100 bucks. I could eat those super foods in one meal!

The bottom line is grocery store food is expensive & much of it isn't healthy because it's the same ingredients restaurants use!

  • @wavepsychic Grocery store food is NOT more expensive than eating out. I spend $100 or less each week, and that's feeding three people 4-6 meals per day. A great way to stretch your food out is to learn to cook foods that are in season or super healthy. Kale is cheap, and one of the best foods to eat. With the exception of the deli counter, shop the perimeter of the store. Get your store's circular, and scour it for sale items. It's easy to eat cheaply, if you learn how to cook the items.

  • @dbreidenbach I beg to differ. I don't know where you go grocery shopping at but lets talk Salads. You buy a bag of lettuce that has Lettuce, carrots and red cabbage that's 3 bucks right there. If you buy those separately it would cost more. You buy tomatoes that's 5 bucks. Mushrooms is 2.50. Peppers is another 3 bucks and dressing is 4 bucks. Croutons is 2 if it's on sale. That's 19.50 for a salad w/ bread sticks when you get all those items when you eat out for 6 bucks & with Bread its 11.75.

  • @wavepsychic I bought a sprouting machine and seeds so now I grow my own salads!!! I just have to buy good organic seeds and that's all!! They have all kinds of flavors. I just sometimes like to get pickles. And sometimes cucumbers and tomatoes and avocados plus fruits. But this sprouting machines gives me an abundance of good nutrients. When they are still sprouts, they can multiply their amounts of proteins by 8 times. When they become salad they exchange proteins for loads of vitamins & miner

  • @okrabay Sounds great. I tried to grow my own garden and that turned out to be a disaster.

Too be honest McDonalds and processed junk food is a good deal for the amount of food you get. Healthy food especially organic costs so much more.

  • I tell that to people all the time... and whenever they tell me that... I say: you can make a pot of soup for 2 euros... what are you talking about?

buying products and make stuff from scratch doesn't only make you save money and it's healthier, the foods will takes better..

My opinion about this matter, as in many other matters, is that people are lazy even in thinking. They don't even make the effort to thing about this. It's is so obvious. They rather just imitate the rest. sad...

  • I so agree.***

  • Excellent message!! Thank you :)

  • I agree, junk food is way more expensive and it also costs you your happiness and health. Plus it shortens your life.

  • I agree with you Natalie... health > possessions

  • I make stuff from scratch. I invented a delicious new soup recipe yesterday made from chicken broth (that I also made from scratch), portobello mushroom stems, and garlic all blended up, and dulse seaweed.

  • We aren't talking about conveinence when we talk about the cost of healthy organic eating. When you are cooking for a family, not just yourself or for just you and a spouse the cost can be outrageous. It is very close minded and shows your lack of life experience to paint with such a broad brush.

  • no offense but your argument goes in a big circle.

btw, i am not complaining that health food is expensive i just don't care. I am not fat, i am not unhealthy, but yeah :P i don't eat fast foods really so i guess i am fine. But, you coulda said this entire message in 30 seconds.

  • I'm 14 and I started eating healthy about a year ago, but my parents always buy junk food for our family. I always tell them to stop eating that crap but they won't listen! And my brothers and sisters eat that crap too! I'm the only one in my family who is not fat..... surprise anyone? I HATE junk food!!!! I can't believe I used to eat that poop when I was younger! My parents never taught me squat about nutrition, so I learned by myself to be healthy!

  • she's smokin hot

  • whats up with all these comments about natalie lol, I guess she got some fans out there

  • I agree.

  • This was posted on Christmas day..what a great Christmas gift, even today!

  • nice job natalie, but the only thing on my mind right now is bending you over my kitchen table.

  • I laughed when I read your comment, I think all lads would like to tap her, she's top notch totty.

  • This is a excellent video! I love it! Everything she talks about I experienced in one way or another. When I started my weight loss journey last year I learned so much about what she is saying on my own. It is really great to see that so many others out there are speaking out and doing something about this issue that I suffered from my entire life. I can now be assured that I am not crazy! Thanks so much for the video!

  • you like eggroll?

  • Excellent video, great information. Natalie delivers it so well.

  • thats because she's hot

  • Excellent vids and much appreciated. Sugar is addictive, destructive, and is forced down the throats of millions of young kids more than ever. This generation is also wired and glued to the tube like never before. It's not to say overall tv, web or electronics are bad things, but maybe a healthier and more moderate balance of non-physical and physical activities will lead to healthier kids and adults. Keep these videos coming Natalie. ;)

  • Very well put dubbleplusgood.

  • This video is awesome because she's so passionate about what she's saying. People really appreciate sincerity. Thanks, Natalie!!! =)

  • Excellent talk! I nominate you for Surgeon General and dare I say you seem like the perfect wife.

  • people are lazy, Natalie

  • I'm teaching myself to cook from scratch. So far my menu offers southern style clam chowder, salmon fillets, and french fries.

  • She's awesome! THANKS SO MUCH! You motivate me!

Does anyone know who posts these videos? Is it Natalie herself?

  • Do you drive a car? Dose it run on gas? So you put gas in the tank? Would you PISS in your gas tank? NO? Why? OH, because it would not run very well would it? So... Why do you put garbage in your bodies fuel tank? Remember people, CONVENIENCE IS THE FAT OF AMERICA!

  • adults "should" be able and aware enough to self educate. BUT all adults have a fucking responsibility to teach our children these quality of life facts. Teach them about the options. So you have chosen to eat crap as an adult and that is too bad! But for the love of Christ dont inflict these self destructive habits on your children. Love them, Care for them, by taking a little extra time and effort to make for them and teach them how to properly fuel the human body.

  • I think I love you:)

  • You are so inspirational... this helped me to think about my priorities in life. Not just with my health but with some of bad bad habits like procrastinating.

  • True. Fresh produce from the grocery store is so much cheap and healthy than buying a fast food meal. On any given day, I can have a fruity lunch and a bottle of water to gulp down for just 2.50 Canadian dollars. Dinner? a vegetable and nut/seed menu for just under C$5/-. If you eat fiber-rich foods like veggies and fruits and gulp them down with water, you'll never feel hungry again. Not, at least, for a full 4-6 hours after every meal. Vegan for life.

  • I dont like fat people. They smell like hot rancid butter all the time.

  • this is a rude comment, lol, but I have to agree that I have smelled what you're talking about.

  • uhmm I haven't noticed that...

  • good video!! this is so very true!

  • the first part is soooo true!!!

  • This video went right to my heart & mind. You're truly a wonderful person who really cares about others. I look forward to seeing more of your videos. Thank you for caring.

  • Thank-you for all this great information. I recently saw your video on how to read nutrition labels and I found that very helpful as well. My favorite video is the one one whole vs. processed foods. I'm taking Biology and these videos tie in with my course so well that I do better on the tests because I remember certain things on the video. :)

  • lol some towns down exactly have fresh produce and meat by the pound available..our grocery only rly has boxed and prepackaged stuff. O.o

  • well grow your own then. If you live in town like that your land must be huge as

  • haha yeah right, it's basically an industrialized wasteland. There's no land to grow on, and no jobs to buy overpriced, gross tasting "organic" foods. Besides, I happen to like the taste of McDonalds and Burger King, and those epic double cheeseburgers only cost a buck.

  • pull out the pickaxe and break some pavement! yeahhhhh! (um i'm only half joking)

  • Strange the connection between epidemic obesity rates and puppet government (run by rich elite corporations & heirs who also benefit from the shares in the drug industry they own too when we get sick) allowing all these GMO/clones/additives/preservatives (that many foreign countries banned/limited).

  • Do i sense a tinge of a southern accent? Which state you from? Beautiful accent and personality and and look!

  • word. you go girl!

  • funny how when we put this video on an oreo add comes up!

  • Well some peole use those excuses to get out of eating the disgusting taste of healthy food

  • GREAT VIDEO NATALIE!!!! Thank you for making it and saying the things that you have said. I think what you said is true!

  • Natalie, can you adress the issue of sabatoging a healthy diet? I am currently on a healthy weight loss diet but I have been off track for a week now and is looking to get back on track~any motivational tips or suggestions to making a healthy diet a permanent part of our lives?

  • See the video "top 10 motivation tips" that Natalie already did.

  • That's right...junk food may seem convenient but it causes so many problems...ummm, the obesity rate of America, anyone?

  • Hmmm..

  • It takes TIME to make even simple foods from scratch. Poor people have less time than money, in these days of Wal-Mart wages. God forbid someone suggest a woman contributes MORE to her family by cooking than working.

Videos SHOWING how to cook a roast or make homemade soup fast and cheap would be useful.

  • lame lame excuse!

  • I am poor. I am a vegan. I feel healthy. I feel good about not taking part in animal cruelty and environmental problems. I am pretty muscular and making some good progress into gaining more bodymass. Bananas, oatmeal, beans, nuts, whole wheat bread, a variety of fruits and vegetables and water is doing the job. I strongly believe that I can get satisfying results even when being a vegan. People, she is right. I know I am right. Cut the crap and stop making up excuses.

  • Trying hard to be vegan. I have never felt better. RESPECT.

  • good video

  • oatmeal cost nutthing. i eat a lot of it

  • Neon, it does a disservice to society when functional medicine focuses on the importance of taking responsibility for one's current health and not acknowledge the cost as a legitimate barrier for many. There is no getting around it, if you want to be healthier, you have to pay more in this society. Organic Foods, nutritional vitamins/suppliments, digestive enzymes are all out of pocket expenses not covered by health insurance :-(

  • man, I quit making my lunch and taking it to work because other people would eat it! (so having no lunch! the thieves!) that's my excuse why I end up eating elsewhere now! ;-)

Organic foods ARE expensive though, you can't deny that.

  • you looks alot like Veronica Belmont!!!

    omg!!!

    woop! woop!

  • ...AND MSG

  • Looks like Natalie hit a lot of nerves today, lol. Rock on!

  • I think it's still confidential if we don't know who she's talking about, LOL. I'm stapped for cash, too, but managing to avoid the dollar menu at Mc Barf's. I'm already planning a big veggie garden for 2008, I'm going in with 3 families in my neighborhood. That should save me a ton of money. Where there's a will, there's a way, I guess. Eating well just has to be a priority.

  • It is true we don't know who she is talking about; however, if I were one of her clients watching this I would wonder if she were talking about me....it seems unprofessional to me to describe a client as a moaner and groaner. Perhaps I was brought up differently...who knows.

  • Far be it from me to question your upbringing! LOL. I'm glad she brought up her clients problem, because I was able to learn from it, too. Don't medical doctors in teaching hospitals, and psych professors in colleges do the same thing? Perhaps I was just raised differently...

  • Wendycraig, I'm sure there are medical doctors and psych professors that call their past, present, and future clients moaners, groaners, complainers, hypocrites, lazy, etc...but does that make it right? My upbringing says, no. ;-)

  • Do you mean Scott Stapped?

  • J/K about the Canada commentary! Peace and have a good day!

  • I guess part of my guilt for waste and exploitation is one of the reasons why I no longer buy Kraft Dinner. Ever since I found out that the Kraft company in America used poor exploited migrant workers from Canada to make their Kraft Dinner I've felt so outraged that I have STOPPED buying ANY Kraft Dinner in the future.

  • I mean just the other day I had two Hot Pockets that came prepackaged in some pretty wasteful plastic packaging. I sort of felt guilty about the packaging even though I am not exactly a clean green earth living person but its was delicious.

  • I'm getting off the subject, but if you haven't already, watch the Jim Gaffigan stand up routine on Youtube about Hot Pockets. (Just type in Hot Pockets and you'll find it). I obviously don't know you and it may not be your brand of humor, but I find it sooo funny. :)

  • I got a lol from the Gaffigan Hot Pocket routine. Thanks!

  • Still I'll be darned if I am gonna be lectured to about pollution and waste by anyone who can't recognize that all humans on some level have to make some waste in order to survive.

  • I know I am not gonna win this one amongst the whole foods, no waste, vegetarian eating, totally organic food crowd out there.

  • Natalie states, "Now I have this client and he just moans and groans about how expense the grocery bills are. Ok, I swear this guy eats out every night for dinner." I hope your "client" isn't watching this..lol..I guess Clinical Nutritionists don't have to adhere to confidentiality?

  • Maybe thats was her point. She didn't use the clients name but she could use the video to highlight her clients situation.

  • I'm not sure her client would agree that he moans and groans. Even if he did, I'm not sure he would want all of youtube land to know....or maybe he does, who knows.

  • a roast and 1 pound of carrots is not cheaper than fast food.

  • Roast is usually only about $4.50 pound.

You could buy a 2 pound roast, carrots and potatoes and feed four people for about 11 dollars.

Unless the only thing your eating in the fast food is 2 dollar menu items, the roast and veggies is cheaper.

  • Where do YOU live? Roast out here is $6.99 - $8 a pound. And I live in the heart of the beef industry.

  • @RoyalKrush plus she said and have a meal for 4 or 5 days :)

  • Good stuff, but try shorter episodes and scratch the relaxation music.

  • Same for the College Student You're telling me that Eating Healthy isn't expensive? i'm sorry please go to Trader's Joe and tell me what i can Buy for 1 dollar that can descently fill me up compared to Cup of Noodles or Ramen which usually cost less then a dollar.

BTW Starbucks Coffee is famous because the way they make the Coffee... are you telling me you can make a product = the same as Starbucks at home. If so not alot of people can do that.

  • I sort of agree, but in all honesty it's not that easy, escpecially for people who have jobs which require alot of time Doctors for example and or Buisness Meetings and or Just Busy with Work all the time. Fast Food is CHEAPER and more Convienent regardless of what people think.

  • well, that was repetitive. good stuff, but could've taken WAY less than nine minutes to explain thoroughly.

  • Natalie, good, rational advice. Thanks again!

  • You Mean American "ASIAN" food. Do you know there is no 'teriyaki' in Japan? All these sauces are there to satisfy our Western tastebuds. Then again All other countries are now adopting more of a Western diet. Oh well.

  • IF ASIAN FOOD HAD HIGH AMOUNT OF TRANSFAT THEN ASIA WOULD BE THE LEADERS IN HEART DISEASE and HEART ATTACK.

Use your brain logically please... Eating at Panda Express or some kind of Fast Food chinese restaurant would of course have Trans Fat and ISN'T CONSIDERED REAL ASIAN FOOD.

  • yeah exactly... lol who thinks Panda Express is healthy... or even Asain...

  • I know the difference between crappy/fake Asain food and real...

  • I agree that people need to do whatever it takes to eat healthy but for some I can see how it might just be inprobable that they would. It really is difficult to find truly healthy foods in American supermarkets at least from my experience. I can't even find real bread for sale anymore! Not to mention many of our vegetables are altered and our milk is packaged in see-through containers etc! I personally would like it if asain cooking got more popular since it seems tastey and healthy.

  • Great stuff!!!

  • Natalie: I have been watching your videos for the last 2 days because I got an invite from psychetruth a few months ago and just came upon it a couple of days ago. I think you are the greatest, and I have now subscribed to your site and will always be watching out for the latest videos. Keep up the great work! And by the way: you came across great in your latest video, as you do in ALL of them!

  • Well what would you do if you wanted a tossed salad on the go?

  • Bagged salad is a good convenient thing to pick up at the supermarket.

  • Bagged salad is expensive, wasteful and often prepared by poorly paid migrant workers. Although sold in Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) to keep it fresh, such salads' nutritional value deteriorates in the bag, supported by a 2003 experiment in Italy that found that nutrient levels dropped off sharply after bagging. And it is often washed in a chlorine solution of a greater concentration than the local swimming pool.

  • Chemicals in the processing aside migrant workers have minds of their own. If they feel exploited by deciding to go work for American farmers then there are still many other avenues that they can choose to use world wide or in America to get by. I've heard stories of migrant workers coming to America and getting fairly well paid jobs in things like the trucking industry.

  • Oh and weather its the chlorine thats used to clean prepackaged and read to eat salad or the pesticides we all get on our heads of lettuce some where along the line someone has to have the common sense to rinse the yuck from off our food which will go down INTO the drains of our water supply.

  • Yikes. Not even giving up the video-making for Christmas.

  • Great video as usual. I think now that I'm eating healthy (thanks to you) I'm actually saving money. For example at the health food store I get quinoa for $1.99 a pound and extra firm tofu for $1.99. At the grocery store a huge 2 lb. box of oatmeal costs $4.49 and supplies about 20 meals. A 46oz can of vegetable juice just $2.49. Frozen vegetables and whole walnuts are cheap. Bananas, apples and whole wheat pasta are not expensive either. The list goes on and on.

  • Natalie, which video of yours breaks down the carb/protein/fat ratio? I remember you mentioning it in the comments of another video you did recently but I cannot find it.

Great video, but I do have to state from my own budgeting experience that even when bargain shopping, eating healthy IS more expensive. I am not making excuses because I eat healthy, I prefer it. But this is a fact of life.

    Merry Christmas.

  • I agree with you on the subject of this video. Still, if you'd spend a little time talking about Processed Free Glutamic Acid (MSG) and how it causes Migraine, Tinnitus, Arrhythmia (which can lead to death in the short term), Vertigo, Tachycardia, etcetera, you'd be doing your adoring fans so much more good...ya know? Wait, let me guess, you know nothing about that, right? :-(

  • dude, what's your damage?

  • Why not make a video on it yourself if you're well informed about the topic? I'm always interested in hearing about stuff no one will talk about when it comes to what's really going on with our food...

  • Like I've told a couple of the people who make the videos, she's much better in front of a camera than I am and she already has a "following". I did study it extensively after my daughter Katrina died of complications from a mysterious heart attack that I suspect was contributed to by the Excitotoxins (MSG/Aspartame) she ingested that day.

  • Livewire, I am sorry about your daughter passing away. Thank you for sharing; it will help others.

  • wow could MSG really cause an immediate reaction like that? Sorry to hear about that.

  • I wish i could stop eating. i wish could fade out of existence. I love watching these videos because they remind me of everything I will never be able to accomplish.

  • Argue for your limitations, and sure enough, they're yours!

    -Wayne Gretzsky

  • indeed.

  • That's Richard Bach, not Wayne Gretzsky.

  • "You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take."

    - Wayne Gretzky

That seems to be his famous quote. Sounds to me like he's risking a divide-by-zero error in his calculations.

  • Oops, my bad :)

  • We are actually going to make a video soon about how to control your hunger.

The information in that video will help you "stop eating" too much.

  • This comment is for Natalie. Thank you for your helpful vidios. I'm 36, a truck driver who works 6 days a week, & overweight. I would love to eat better but I have no idea how to eat anything but junk & fastfood. I like this clip but could you please make a vidio with some suggestions of what to buy at the store & some good but easy meals that are healthy to eat. Maybee a top 10 healthy meals you can fix easily. Thanks again.

  • I need that.

  • You can do it

  • thanks for the encouraging video. I personaly can use all the encouragement I can get so I greatly apreciate this.

    Merry Christmas

  • That's so true. I love Jimmy Jhon's Vegitable subbut I bet if I bought the ingredients I could have it more than once.

IAlfalfa Srouts don't look that tasty at the supper markert. Any tips on that? What does fresh Alfalfa look like? LOL

  • At McDonalds, it costs less to have 2 double cheeseburgers than to have 2 regular chese burgers. OR You actualy can order 2 dbl chesse burgers AND 2 McChicken for $4.00!!!!

  • where i live doesn't have kitchen...

    i miss cooking greatly...

  • Get yourself out of the Soviet Union ASAP!

  • Darn, I think about your vids every time I look in the kitchen...

  • It's conspiracy to try to get you to take better care of yourself. ;)
