Originally syndicated in September 1960, at the start of season two. Don Messick is the narrator here (and the monstrous spud), not Hal Smith, Steve. Warren Foster began writing for H-B after Warner Bros. dismissed him in 1959 [mostly for the Huckleberry Hound series and "THE FLINTSTONES"]... continuing through 1965.
LOL! Nice use of (I guess) Hal Smith as narrator and of Bill Loose and John Seely's "Sublime Ghost" at 1:46. Very hypnotic. The whole Potato coming to life itself is very funny, right down to his "announcement" to his fellow-uh, potatoes!
This episode always scared me XD

You're right, it WAS season three, Steve...Paul Frees never worked on a Huck cartoon.

Thanks, FTS. However, September 1960 is the THIRD season. I also used to assume that Paul Frees narrated, but VERY doubtful!

Hanna-Barbera had excellent comedy writers back then. That certainly didn't last long.
