It's not a religion, it's a relationship with Jesus Christ(: I love underoath-3 Their music is soo soul touching. Heard this song in a skit performance at a conference. Toally dig it(:
i hate when people say, "im not religious so im just going to ignore that he screams jesus like five times in this freekin song." thats like saying im going to read romeo and juliet and just ignore the sadness because i dont like it. the religious aspect is what makes this song, and i can guarantee that this song is waaay more powerful and beautiful to me than it will ever be to an athiest. its a song about jesus people.
@jakewfpf TRUE!!!! doing so would be like ripping out the whole point of any work. however, i don't believe i have to be christian or anything to appreciate the faith that this artist has in his lord, and the power/beauty this song has to offer not just to the "followers" but to everyone and anyone willing to listen.
I remember picking this album up when i was around 16, it changed my taste in music rather drastically, 6 months later i saw them live and a lot of bands got dropped from my play-lists, these kids musical talent surpasses just about everything I've heard since then, with a few exceptions.
Awesome song, awesome band, and awesome person for posting it
This song will never cease to reap tears from the bottom of my heart. I'm still un-sided in the war inside myself with faith, but one day I'll find something to hold on too. <3
Hey guys we're a metal/hardcore band from New York and we really love Underoath. We're just starting out and we really need all the support we can get. Check out our channel we just released a montage video of one of our singles "Break Me". Let us know what you think!
(We have a 90 pound Asian screamer who sounds like he's been molested by the devil)
Nobody comes to YouTube to get your opinion on how their worldview should be formed. If you would like to comment on the song, what you think of it, how it has affected you, etc., feel free. If you would like to discuss the meaning of life, please find some friends outside of YouTube and a have rational discussion with them. @PunksStillPray That's the right Christian attitude. Defending all religions,...not just defending your religion while bashing someone elses...... Thank you
@PunksStillPray Well said. Let's just enjoy the music and share whatever emotions it stirred within us. For me, it made me miss having faith. I stopped believing long ago - this song feels, to me, like someone is reaching out, trying to get me back to the path of faith. Nice gesture, but I ain't coming back.
Brings back so many good memories. About 2 weeks ago I went to church camp and we done a skit using this song. I fell in love with the song the second I heard it. And being the lead of that play made it that much better. It turned out so good. If you want to watch the play then go to my channel and click the facebook link in my "About Me" section. It's so amazing.(:
I feel it's unnecessary, and very ignorant for people to come to a video they feel the complete opposite emotions for (people who don't believe in God), and say rude things about Christians, and Christianity. Just sayin'.
they just did a skit at my camp and this song was playing in the background.... the skit was all about a girl who was once very close to Jesus and slowly fell into sin and turned away from him then at the end he came and saved her from her sins... this song fit perfect and I am now obsessed...
I've been depressed lately and I always listen to this song when I'm really down. It makes me feel a lot better. It's just such a beautiful song and it gives me goosebumps when I listen to it. Underoath shows how much music can mean.
@jooebennn Miss the innocence, yes. But regret nothing. Don't dwell in the past, dwell in the present and make life what you can now. Turn from your lack-of-innocence now, and God will grant you a new beginning!
Man I love this band. I did come across however a band called Weightless in Waiting that remind me of old underoath, it was kool. Check em out. Their channel is WeightlessinWaiting.
i got the last part of this tattoed on my back, the "hey unfaithful, hey graceful, hey unloving, i will love you" part. underoath was amazing then, and still is now.
oh my gosh this is sooooo good :O I really like UnderOATH and was looking through their songs and I was surprised by the softness of this song, it's beautiful, but there's also such emotion and power in it as well :)
Recommended songs by Demon Hunter - i play dead, sixteen, storm the gates of hell, coffin builder, beauty through the eyes of a predator, not ready to die, or not i.... there are more but those are some of the best.
i saw this song in a music video with the passion of the christ footage. easily the most powerful video i have ever seen and dont normally get moved by videos like that.
@52128 'Your' is capitalized out of respect for God, as is commonly accepted. 'Mercy' is capitalized as it is part of a proper name/title (Angel of Mercy, like Angel of Death).
@PunksStillPray That's only right if it's talking about god, which it isn't. The angel of mercy, at least Biblically, is not god, or Jesus Christ. It's just any angel he sends with mercy. God, nor Jesus, has ever been called the "angel of mercy." It comes down to interpretation, though, and if you're interpreting it as a conversation based solely to his god, then you're right.
As a new Christian, and remembering the feeling I got when I accepted Jesus into my heart, this song has a whole new powerful meaning to me. Before I finally ended my struggle with the devil and could give myself to Christ, I listened to this song but just thought wow this is pretty but I don't believe, now I am moved soooo much by this song and band.
Im not a big believer of God. But i am not Atheist either. By listening to this song it is as if it brought you closer to God. this song defines how we all should be. Even if we are not capable of being perfect, We have the power of forgiveness and Love. We should use these abilities all the time bc after all. We only live once.
You know, I really like your poorly done accompany video(: And I agree that this is one of the greatest songs ever... it really is beautiful and true.
this song is absolutely beautiful, im an atheist and i LOVE this song. its absolutely soothing and calm and i can feel the emotion behind the lyrics and though these are emotions i dont feel i still respect them and even admire them. this is a great song!
This is my lullaby every night. I always sleep on "Hey, unloved, I will love you." Then I, like, pass out. :') I'm not religious or anything, but I see the Christian meaning behind it.
I mean Christianity is always something I thought about. Does God really exist? Or did humans just create God so that they'll have an excuse for the Universe's birth? I don't know, but as if now, I'm not religious...
Just because xBloodBrothersx interprets it one way, doesn't mean it's wrong. Just because you can't understand him, doesn't mean he's wrong. Just like a theme from a book, there is no single, correct theme or meaning of a song. I'm sure you have learned this in school if you pay attention in English/Literature classes.
I don't care how each individual interpret the meaning of this song, but i (own opinion) think this song is beautiful. Love it.
@zerospicon That is only true to an extent. There comes a point where your interpretation just becomes wrong. You also have to take into account the meaning of the author, which is the ultimate meaning of the song, no matter what your interpretation is.
A song can mean different things to different people but that doesn't mean no one's right and no one's wrong as to the meaning.
I agree - a song can even mean something in total contrast to the author's meaning. Songs can mean something different to every listener as well as the author, that's the beauty of music, the beauty of freedom of interpretation.
@PunksStillPray The message is clear as day. It's right in your face. If you can't see it then you're not looking in the right direction... We have sin, all of us. Admit it.
@zerospicon yeah I get what your saying but the author has a specific point behind his work whether it be a book or a song there is a specific point that the author/artist wanted to get across.
@zeeshawn15 finally someone that doesnt hate on all other religions. lol. everytime i watch a video of any band someone is always saying crap about every other religion.

Love it.
zerospicon 1 year ago 18
@zerospicon That is only true to an extent. There comes a point where your interpretation just becomes wrong. You also have to take into account the meaning of the author, which is the ultimate meaning of the song, no matter what your interpretation is.
A song can mean different things to different people but that doesn't mean no one's right and no one's wrong as to the meaning.

@PunksStillPray
