Awesome simulation, but how do you get the glowing lines as the border for the first few and the nice looking glass box for the last one? I'm new to blender and can only manage a semi-transparent box that doesn't let light through. :P
Hey people i just started my youtube channel(just started using blender) and I really need views and subs so plzzz go to my page and if u like the vids subscribe
there is alot of rener time in even just 1:04 alot of people don't respect the simple 10 seconds of animation you get back from alot of work and time. well done.
@zocazoey its pretty hard to get going if you're a beginner but there are a wide range of tutorials on youtube. Also Andrew Price @ blenderguru(dot)com can get you from noob to pro in about a week
Hey Nion, I replicated the scene at 0:18 and everything was working fine, except I do not know how to keep the centre sphere immobile. If you could reply that would be great.
What the.... I have 16 gb of ram and I am currently baking a 465 res one that says 8.4 gb needed but is using 15.6 gbs of ram. Hpw much ram did you have to use for this?
my comp has four 2.watever gigga hertz procces and runs very slow even baking at 200 resouluton im no sure but this seems illogical. how does i set so it will use all of my four moist process!?
@Capeau Ah. Well it looks high res to me, especially since he chose to keep the liquid opaque. Even low res liquids look much more realistic at low res because we associate realism and quality with with water, if he chose to make the liquid transparent it would look incredible.
ok. You do not need over 2 gigs to make something similar to this... Just select the default cube, change the X to 20, change the Y and Z to 10, you can put the resolution up to 500 with it only being 200-300megs. To make Fluid Simulations at high resolution and do not require a lot of space, simply have the X or Y Coords double-tripple the rest.
Well I have the same card in a dual core win xp. Then i can't do many things. actually i work with a pc: processo intel core i7 8gb ram memory win xp 64 bits and two nvidia GeForce 9400 gt 1gb each (conected Crossfire sistem) mainboar is intel DX58So it has two pci express for two graphic card.
im sure there is a point where adding extra resolution becomes useless, where you are unable to tell the difference between a lower one. 1024 is pointless
A simple fluid animation is surprisingly easy to set up in Blender. There are lots of tutorials for it on YouTube. Watch a few until you understand it then give it a whirl. Or should that be splash.
Just be prepared for loooooong bake and render times if you set it to a high resolution.
I had the same problem with my old pc. But since I have a q9550 and 4 gig ram it doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. But I don't know for sure, if it is because of the hardware or a software update.
it kinda stinks though, that the simulation is not really particles, unlike realflow and some other fluid sim. programs. This is because it doesn't really look different then something that is 200 res. At least in my perspective. That is pretty neat though.
i have also q9550 and 4 gb RAM and GTX 260 but if the req bake memory goes higher than 500 mb blender crashes saying RUNTIME ERROR abnormal program termination is it from the software ?
It's because you maxed out BLENDER. If you're using a 32bit BLENDER on a 32 bit system, (Which idk if you are) you cant go higher than a 400mb render.
And sorry for commenting on your ten month comment.
I have a question. Whenever I use the fluid simulation. It always, always turns into a cube. The water is working just fine, just that the water always is inside I cube. I have tried with Inflow and outflow. Nothing helped. And I have tried with a cylinder as well. But still it always shapes after the look of a cube. How do I change this? How good computer do you need to bake 1024 res fluid? With default size cube it says:
Req. BAKE Mem.: 92.2 GB :0
I have:
Windows 7 32-Bit
Pentium Dual-Core E5200 2.50Ghz

Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT
I cannot even bake 200res fluid with default size cube.. weird.. Perhaps my video card is too bad.. or something. If anyone can help me, please.

you need to increase the simulation time for a 'realtime' flow
on the domain for the 'time' setting, on the end time, a good setting is .1 per second of video
coreysuffield 2 years ago
I didn't want it to be realtime.
