when I went to see this movie, the room was completely empty, and all I did was have sex with my girlfriend. Hey the movie was too boring, we preferred to make our own entertainment ;)
@JeremyJahns if you like a Christmas Carol that much, then you should watch the dr who one. Yes, it's doctor who, but it's a really good sci fi take on a Christmas Carol, that's really funny, emotional, and clever in terms with the storyline, seeing as it's slightly different, and with things like how they did the ghost of Christmas future, and how they threw in time travelling into it (i mean come one, it's a sci fi show, with a blue box as a time travelling thing)
I liked the live action version of How The Grinch Stole Christmas. I thought that it was very funny and it's the main movie I look forward to watching every year around Christmas time.
I brought the girl I love to watch this movie and when the Ghost of Christmas Present describe what will happen to Tiny Tim I really cried. I tried to hold my tears in LIKE A BOSS beside the girl I love to show here I wasn't such a softy but I could hold it in so I shed my tears in silent without her noticing LIKE A BOSS. XD
I saw this with my friend and it made me jump a couple times it was actually also kind of creepy at some points. But I liked it and the animation was really good they looked exactly like the real actors. Another good version is the Doctor Who one.
i thought it lacked depth because im a huge fan of the actual story and the dialog he has with himself and spirits which was very deep in other christmas carol movie but here they replaced that with cool effects and i think they lost track of the importance of emotional journey he goes through.
Just watched this movie and was very pleasantly surprised, I liked it. I thought Jim Carry was great and this movie will definatly be on my watch list of holiday movies. I didn't even know this was shot for 3d untill I saw this review. Great version of a clasic.
Everyone is so unoriginal when it comes to ghosts. I have disliked every version of A Christmas Carol in both book and movie form that I have ever seen with the exception of one, which was a book. The symbolism and imagery used in that book was so perfect, so creepy, so unique, that to this day I still remember every detail about the ghosts, and it still sends shivers down my spine. The best part is that the ghosts were not described to be creepy, but they still where.
i went to see this movie the week it came out with my girlfriend we saw it i thought it was awesome it was great. when we walked left to get dinner asked her how she liked the movie and she said it was horrible despite the fact she picked it (but what are ya gonna do when the only remotely interesting but still pretty stupid thing else out there is 2012) i was shocked and confused wondering how you could not think it was good, a week later i found out she was emo and therefore hated everything
I have no interest at all in this Christmas Carol version. It seems it's yet another poor attempt of Zemeckis doing a motion-capture film with mostly focusing on the 3D gimmick, and giving no heart or soul to the story, just like what Polar Express and Beowulf were. I think I'll just skip this one and watch the Princess and The Frog or Avatar.
ya Scrooged is my favorite but in a room full of family and friends The Muppets Christmas Carol is always a good choice but im not really sure what to think of this film, i guess ill check it out at the Imax
"I'm just still trying to find the attended metaphor on having an old man flying around a opium flaming meth head.......Oh its a code" I love that part nice to see you coming out with new video's fast
He's not fuckin around anymore because he'd rather get rid of it now when there's little censorship than later when he's a huge Youtube star who's known for that :P
Dont think I'm gonna see this one though. Seen it like 80 times in my life already, so how many new ways to do it are there?
Yeah, I think Muppet Christmas Carol was my favorite, good dialogue, good humor and good drama all mixed together with the nostalgia of the muppets and of course, Michael Caine. But yeah, George C. Scott is the MAN when it comes to playing Scrooge. No one did it better.
Hey I just finished watching Terminator salvation and I want to see your review on it are u going to upload your old reviews.......Oh and do you still have your old account?......Oh and grandma got ran over by a raindeer was awsum too along with the Mickie Mouse Christmas special.
If Scrooge had become a Jehovahs Witness all his problems would have been over and he wouldn't have been visited by anyone , unlike the rest of us who would have to endure being visited by him. HUMBUG
By the way, did you really dislike the Grinch? I thought it was pretty true to its roots; and for a live action the accomplishment was pretty impressive.
I think the only issue was how disturbing a true-to-its-roots live action film of 'the grinch' really is.
Hm, I liked the Muppet one best. It has the best songs.
Ha, thanks for the warning about the 3D unnecessary parts.
Oh hey, just one thing. It's one thing to say "holidays" when refering to Christmas/Kwanzaa/Hanukkah as a grouping of them, but it's just annoying and illogical to refer to Christmas as "holiday". Any day you have off is a holiday. It's not Christmas.
You saying that calling Christmas a Holiday is illogical is frankly, illogical. You and like, four other people in the entire world probably believe what you just said. The rest of the world here including myself would say Christmas is a holiday, which makes it, you guessed it, logical to call it that. Way to go Ruhtard :D
I didn't mean it quite like that. Y'see, Christmas is "a holiday" and not "holiday". I just resent people saying "holiday cards" when clearly the cards on display are Christmas. If there were more than one holiday in the display, it would be one thing, but I think it's dumb to refer to something plainly Christmas as simply "holiday". Wussy, at that.
hahaha I see what you were trying to say now. Yeah calling certain things like, Christmas Cookies now Holiday Cookies is annoying. I don't get offended when someone celebrates Hanukkah or Kwanzaa, why should anyone make me censor the fact that I celebrate Christmas? I get you. I take back my Ruhtard cmment haha.
Funny.... Now I have mixed feelings with that Mickey version because is too rushed, goofy and gimmicky... So now for me is a lame adaptation with a slice of likeability.
Still is a classic, but yeah.... growing up in observations sucks...
The one with Bill Murray was the best I've seen. Atleast in that one Bill was kinda old but could still change. What I never got was what happed to Scruge after Chrismas? Did he turn back in to a dick after that day. Did he stay that way til he died? And why wait til he's an 80 something old man to change him? I always wondered that.
Good review man. I think you gave a little too much info about the three ghosts. You should have just went into what you liked and didnt like, but your points about the length of the 3D sequences will be in my mind going into the movie. You didnt mention how Jim Carrey was also. Anyway, good review nonetheless. Cant wait to see this movie.
