When you say "variable orifice", are you just talking about the manual valve, or is that something on the horn? P.S. I have the exact same horn -- round backs and everything.
You need a manual locomotive valve, you sound like locomotives i run everyday with automatic electric valves on and off, check out on ebay see if u can run manual, gives u a true old school sound for the horn..

variable orifice is the ports in the horn.

you could always try and put an air compressor in your engine compartment so you have a constant rechargable air supply for your horns.

I do have a Graham-White manual air valve. It's just not installed at this time. I'll do more video once I install the manual valve.
