  • U2 is a force of nature.

  • A dislike?! Soulless bastard...

  • i remember this! what a damn night it was.

  • Was this guy embedded with the crowd lol.

  • This show NEEDS to be put on DVD/Blu-Ray.

  • @TimStatic I completely agree with this statement.

  • bad + streets = omfg

  • what does bono say at the beginnig of streets? i'm italian and can't understand..

  • @simthebest9281 he's singing Everybody Hurts from R.E.M.

  • @simthebest9281 he's singing Everybody Hurts from R.E.M...and then "40." and then Psalm 116: What can I give back to God for the blessings he's poured out on me? I'll lift high the cup of salvation -- A toast to God! I'll pray in the name of God; I'll complete what I promised God I'd do, And I'll do it together with his people.

  • anyone who would say me i f the where the street have no name bono speaking is the 116 psalm?

    thanks form italy

  • 3:42 what a moment! U2 forever!

  • u2 history lesson: this performance inspired u2 to write, city of blinding light. i cant even imagine what it would have been like to be at this concert. i bet it was overwhelming for the band as well.

  • @wild1033 That's amazing! U2 never stops growing, look at the 360°Tour, it's amazing, I saw them in Brussels, and indeed, unforgettable!

  • Great moments in American history...

In the aftermath of 9/11, U2 takes the stage in front of a broken city. Bono sings an Irish lullaby. Suddenly, the Edge begins to play those all familiar chords that open Streets and Bono utters a small prayer. Then, as the stadium fills with light and the crowd is lifted from the ground, everybody knows that things will be alright.

    Gotta love U2.

  • What did Bono say to the woman as he let her go? Was it her name? Or maybe "inshallah?"

  • i hope everyone agrees with me that i hate extreme 67! what a dickhead

  • MJ peformed there the night before 9/11 on the 10th of september 2001 when was this consert?

  • Mmmmm... I was there that night. Religious spectacle - nobody's feet touched the floor all night. Been seeing concerts since 1978 and the U2 shows right afer 9/11 rank at the top.

  • @faustus2008 yes mmmmmm indeed

  • This song is from "unforgettable fire"

it is not a b side

  • It's not from The Unforgettable Fire! It's from The Joshua Tree. It's the first track!!

  • "Bad" is indeed from The Unforgettable Fire. "Streets" is from Joshua Tree.

  • @TheSarcasticShow "Where the Streets Have No Name" is, but "Bad" is indeed off The Unforgettable Fire.

  • nope. this is the version from the very famous bootleg from that night.

  • very amazing sound quality, thanks for this

  • This was after 9/11. The greatest show i ever saw. people were crying through the whole show. i have a great picture of Bono wrapped in the American flag.

  • hey bizkit34 have you uploaded the photo on the web? I would like to see it!!

  • i dont have it up , but i will try and do it soon.

  • @bizkit34 was this show before OR after Bono said "The U.S. brought 9/11 on themselves" Should I post that?? fuck

  • @dhide14 When did he say that?

  • @dhide14 Bono NEVER said that. You can google it all day long. Never. This Irish band was very supportive of America after 9-11. U2's crush on America goes back to their first visit here. Don't smear Bono just because you don't like him. Claiming an ugly lie about somebody is evil as fuck. Grow up kid.

  • i love these songs if you or whoever filmed was filming it themselves GREAT SOUND!!

  • was this before or after 9/11?

  • after

  • AMEN to TOMINTEXAS!!!!!!!

  • its bee over 7 years since 9/11 and this, along with what they did during the superbowl 2002, still gives me chills. more people need to remember the disaster we came from.

  • More people need to remember that there are other disasters besides American disasters.

  • @sengira You're raise a valid point - disasters happen everywhere & US media outlets tend to inflate domestic ones.

That doesn't make 9/11 any "less legitimate" of a tragedy.

A pissing contest over its relative magnitude won't solve the media problem.

Every cultural tragedy requires its own healing process - this concert (esp these 2 songs) was a particularly powerful, beautiful, and fitting catharsis to us native New Yorkers a month after the biggest disaster in most of our lives occurred.

  • Perhaps there greatest show ever! At least the most relevant.

  • awesome song I love it! what is that high pitched sound in the background? during the 1:30 part and onwards?

  • it's a background synthesizer. it happens during the "so not fade away" part each time. if you listen carefully to the version on "unforgettable fire" album it's there too, almost like a flute or something. here it sounds kinda artificial.

  • i didn't hear anything so i do not know what you are talking about
