  • shioda shihan had amazing control

and none of his uke were ever hurt

  • Amazing power, technique, and pure evasion.

  • Amazing and a superb command and development of Chi.

  • u can clearly see that chi is involved

  • what ever happened to a nice jab, push kick or maybe shoot for the legs?

  • I dont like Shioda's Aikido. I think its hard and reckless with unnecessary clashing techniques. Im not saying it doesnt work, Im just saying he doesnt show much of the heart and understanding of aikido. Everytime I watch one of his demos, an uke gets hurt or winded and I say thats due to the lack of control he shows. Sorry Shioda.

  • It's cause he'd tested his techniques on the steets of Tokio. A don't agree that he has no control - his controllin is perfect i think.

  • Lack of control? Funny because in every demo I've ever seen of him, he seems to be in total control of himself and all of his uke. If an uke got hurt because he couldn't roll, turn, or protect himself quickly enough, then he shouldn't be volunteering to take technique for a 9th dan aikidoka. It's not Shioda's fault if his uke loses focus and can't protect himself.

Ueshiba had plenty of Uke get hurt (Chiba for example.) It's just one of the risks when you're practicing at that level.

  • Are You crazY? I'm not aikidoka but Sioda is the best I've seen in aikido! These Aikido controls are just inventes for students. The aim is something that Sioda shows. He does not have lack of control, it is you who has lack of understanding.

  • @Cacey0101 is something I will never understand.

    everything is Kokyo

  • Holy Shit!

  • The video is cool! :)

And those who don't believe it's true, have never experienced it on themselves... Just a lack of knowledge and experience. Anyway, good for them they haven't, because Aikido isn't so harmless for an unexperienced attacker. Broken elbows and wrists are guaranteed!

  • i wish i was related to this man

  • did you know that shioda gozo was a judo practioner too but when he met O sensei he started aikido.

o sensei was a master of judo too and he developed aikido out judo jiu-jitsu and lots of other martial arts. you should not say that judo is better than aikido or that aikido is better than judo. you can't compare it

  • Want to try my Aikido Skills. I'll let you lay a punch in me. Come on. Let's see what your martian arts can do with my Aikijutsu. :D

  • Why would you be so disrespectful? your sensei would be ashamed.

  • I don't go to the dojo, or train under any one sensei. Disrespect breeds disrespect. Manners are very important in a fight as well as out of one. You may have an opinion, but to tell others they are stupid only makes them resent you for having such a superior attitude. Please direct your hostility elsewhere.

  • Are you sure you are over 30? It feels like I am arguing with a 13 year old. Your lack of respect simply mirrors the amount of respect you get from others. I have no respect for you because your intellect will not allow you to respond without hostility and profanity. How sad :(

  • If you dont like it, then why do u watch???? And plus everyone deserves to believe in whatever they want to believe. If you are too lonely and pathetic coz of your stupid then so be it, but dont go talking trash about something so profund as Aikido... coz it seems to me that you are a street fighters that got his ass kicked to many times. but let me tell you something a lot of time the pen is mighter than the sword.

  • Dare to answer you back:

Aikido had been created for "real attackings" with "non-compilant opponents".

Of course, in a real fights your opponent does not grab your hand but you'll have to grab the hand. And of course most the opponents aren't rolling around that much because (s)he's simply not trained in rolling.

If you don't believe it's working, go to a dojo near you and try beating up the sensai.

  • your mom was a fraud yeah? cause i asked for a BJ and she didnt tell me her tooth all fell out

  • why SO SERIOUS...

TIME TO PUT A SMILE ON THAT FACE!!

    HAHAHAHhahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAhahashahahaHAHAA!!

  • your mom's face

  • Lmao. idon't even remember why i posted that comment. lol

  • If you think it's useless , then just turn off the video and stop complaining ~ If I want to hear about complaining about useless stuff , I'll talk to your girl friend !

  • don't worry tiffannee88 is always moaning. insecurities of his own inadequacies. The locks and projections in aikido do work, try them BETTER YET try to resist them.

aikido is basically a higher form of jujitsu.

that's why so many jujitsu players and judo players went to aikdio. check out chiba, gozo shioda, tomiki, kanai, nishio and countless others.

don't be scared tiffanne88 try it.

  • They went to Aikido because they were not being able to win on a real martial art and preferred self-delusion... Self-delusion is powerful! In this video Shioda demonstrate some things that can work, but the majority is pure crap. Sensational demonstrations for the uninitiated. I would like to see him trying this against an uncooperative partner, too bad he is not alive anymore.

  • Excuse me, but if you resisted aikido techniques you will end up with a very sore body and maybe even worse. Broken bones would be nothing, a throw on concrete as your head is the heaviest part of your body it will split like a melon. Sorry but your argument has more holes then a virgin on prom night. RIP SENSIE GOZO SHIODA

  • Really? Please, point out the holes in my arguments? In fact, if you analyze, I didn't provide arguments, I was commenting, nor arguing! Shioda sensei demonstrates valid and effective techniques in the video, but also many delusional ones. Aikido is Budo, it has not need to be effective in real-life situations, like Kendo, where even a hit to the head is not counted as ippon if it was not done in a perfect movement, while in real-life it would be death to the loser! Peace.

  • @loudenvier I can also tell you the same.

never understand, because it is the only thing that gives you the ability to monitor your vision.

  • @loudenvier - exactly!-

  • I can sum you up in two words. Toss fuck. Comprende?

  • People tjunee88 has only one sole purpose in life and that is to go around on the aikido videos here on youtube and comment about how useless they are. Just ignore him, he is too stupid for his own good.

  • Your the one who's useless you mother fucker.

  • sure Judo can be useful at certain situations...

so can other styles.(Tae Kwon Do, Kenpo, Drunken Fist(really a dead style... the ones now a days are only showy forms, Juitsu, Southern mantis, Iron Wire... ect..)

All styles have specailty attacks and deffenses for certain things that could happen in a fight.

But no style is greater. They all specialize in something...however it is the person who makes the style aswome...not the style itself.

  • delusional wank

  • looooooool, you think so, watch at 2:42 his uke is knocked out

  • @abusivemelon: Just remind you that Shioda was a black belt judo himself before he started Aikido

  • Regardless of what people say this stuff is very real. I've been on the recieving end of it and, although you can't see it the pain is intense. This man was one of the greatest aikido masters and left us with one of the most ruthless aikido styles going.

  • he did that stunning move to robert kennedy's bodyguard. i'd say its the real deal

  • Aiki master is real

  • fake

  • Just for fun I'll help you understand something. Hold your left hand out (palm facing towards you for now). With your right hand grab your fingers (palm facing fingers) and gently "crank" your fingers down and into your body. This was a half-assed description but this may help you understand that they're not faking the pain.

  • i wonder if the money that he paid that guy to fall was worth losing his dignity?

  • The only reason people in aikido demonstrations get up after they're thrown to the ground is because the sensei isn't following through with the full potential of the move. Don't be ignorant to that fact people because most people are.

    Have a nice day.

  • awesome !!

  • awesome !!

  • How often do two people run up to you and grab your wrists exactly?

  • How often do you get into a fight with an armless assailant? The first thing people resort to when fighting is punching or grabbing.

  • Every single time? Wrist forward slowly?

  • That's just one of the hundreds of submissive handling techniques they use in quick transition that you're not able to see on this video. Just for fun, go to your nearest aikido school and ask the sensei to make a believer out of you.

  • I do Judo which is far superior. Come to Bullshido and tell the world how great Aikido is.

  • My father is a judo practitioner so I understand your pride in it, but if you're a true students of the arts you shouldn't boast "your" style over another. This day and age a gun can kill any martial artists anyway. Sad, but true.

  • True student? Define that please.

A GUN CAN KILL SOMEONE??? Why thank you Captain Obvious, remind me in what age could guns not kill a martial artist?

As for the style over style thing, Judo is trained with aliveness and full resistance whereas Aikido is compliant making the training unrealistic.

  • *sigh*

  • What? Not formal enough?

  • realyyy??

  • Those 1337 techniques are called hardwork, focus and concentration. Nobody's going to do your work for you my friend. Remeber Nobel Winners are still humans with 2 hands and 2 feet, and they have access to the same knowledge that everybody else has access to. There's no secret technique, just how dedicated you are. Put in perspective, the life of Shioda and Ueshiba sensei depended on it - they didn't fight in matches with referes and weight classes.

  • Haha, Shioda sensei, what a monster! Gotta love this amazing man. No wonder why Ueshiba sensei wanted him to be his successor. Sad thing is that both Shioda and Ueshiba were using 1337 DAYTO RYU body and aiki skills that neither the Yoshinkan nor the Aikikai hombu curriculums cover... that's why UNLESS these curriculums change there will never be another TRUE aikido master/mpnster like Ueshiba, Shioda, or Tohei.

  • You obviously havn't met Thomas H. Burdine of Lafayette, IN. He's our Soke, and he's incredible.

  • I think its better to hear aikido being done, not this music. The Japanese version has much better quality. Everyone should watch it. Its divided into two parts, both about 5:20 mins long. Non-Japanese people may find it hard to follow but you can just watch the images. Love Aikido. To quote Shioda: "The most effective move is aikido is that the man who tries to kill you becomes your friend."

  • Yoshinkan is perfect!!!

  • that's lame. They sped the film up! He's normally plenty fast, so it makes it seem fake when they speed the film up.

  • Shioda Sensei is greatness.

  • Shioda sensei is sooo fast!

  • Man Aikido is the shit... i love this, i cant believe nobody has given you a comment *good guy pose*
