Freekin awesome car. I was in an accident with mine 2 nites ago and totalled it. But all 4 of us walked away from it. My brother suffered the worst with a broken jaw and eye bone, and a fractured wrist. We flipped it end over end 3 times down a nasty hill, and it held up amazingly.... I haven't seen it yet, but from what I remembered it was bad but it saved us. The seatbelts stayed on nice n tight, we all have marks from em but, I am so happy that it was such a good car...

I have a 2006 PT Cruiser and I bought it brand new. But I must say, the seats are so uncomfortable! I'm only six ft and feel if I were taller, I would have to duck my head to see out the windshield!

My Pt was hydroplaned on I-95 by a Dodge Ram. The truck ended up directly in front of my Pt sideways. The Pt lost! I had broken ankle, knee, hip, spleen, neck injuries as well as dislocated shoulder. My infant granddaughter was in her car seat in the rear and fortunately only got a seat belt burn. That was all 8 months ago. I am still learning to walk. BTW airbags stink when they go off.

yeah i agree about the air bags deploying late i had one the same year and i got hit by a guy that ran a red light he was going 50mph hit my front passenger side broke the frame it crumbled up so bad air bags came out like a deflated balloon didn't even blow up, oh yeah the brakes faild also i give it a 0 outta 5 stars, it put me in the hospital for 5 days.

the airbags are late because they use an accelerometer instead of sensors in the bumper...its suppose to stop unnecissary deployment of airbags..but it seems much less safer...

on the 10th of december 2007 my 53 plate pt cruiser had a head on crash with a honda accord aero deck at a combined speed of 60+ mph. The air bag saved me from any serious injury leaving me to walk and talk for another day as I only suffered some nasty brusing and a bit of whiplash (all of which will heal). I cannot praise the car enough, the airbag went off before I hardly registered that I was going to be hit and I was not thrown about in the car at all. WELL RECOMMENDED TO CRASH IN!!!!

Actually it held up quite well.

The object is not to save the car. The object is to save the passengers. And if you look close, the passenger compartment does not collapse at all.

Check out the chinese car crash test for terrible. The doors pretty much fall off at 40mph.

Held up well indeed.Passenger compartment does not collapse at all resulting in a fantastic 6/16 for front impact protection. EuroNCAP says "Euro NCAP tests it put the driver and front passenger at risk of severe feet and knee injury" and "Neither the driver nor the passenger were well protected". 3 Stars! Perfect!
