@prsrROCKS after you have saved it on your desktop go to my computer, at the top left corner you will find "organise" click on then click "folder the search options". Then click on "view" tab and uncheck "hide extensions for know files types" then you will be able to see .txt. Now you can go ahead and delete .txt from the host file.

@MrFisyy you can get a tethered jailbreak which really sucks, everybody is waiting until ios 5 comes out because its not worth their time to make an untethered jailbreak when IOS 5 is so close.

For me it still wasnt working when i put the #.

all i did was delete the apple lines.

save and CLOSE iTunes.

if u get errors when you dont have permission, right click notepad and Run as admin.

1st it’s the same way on PC you just have to run notepad as administrator

2nd uninstall the umbrella hosts and the umbrella app altotgether

If this doesn't work for you I have a tip. Remover the Umbrella host from the ETC file (move it into a folder on desktop in case you want to move it back into ETC file after restore) and just change the HOST file as the video shows. Also if on windows and it says you don't have permission to the HOST file, move it firstly to desktop and change it there and press "Save". Then move it back to the ETC file and it should work like a charm.

PC users here is an easy guide, just follow this and trust me IT WILL WORK!

1.Click start, in the search bar type "etc" without quotes, click on file

2.Move hosts file to desktop, open in desktop, put # infront of gs.apple line

3.Save, put back in etc folder, if there's a permission box, just click yes continue...

4.If you have tinyumbrella, just delete it

5.Now go to iTunes, and click restore+update

there you go, DONE!!
