Well, I just found out something interesting. In Japanese folklore, Jiraiya was a great ninja who used powers to turn into a toad, he fell in love with a princess named Tsunade who specialized in 'slug-magic' and his arch-enemy was called Orochimaru who specialized in 'snake-magic'.Weird. Well now we know who the sannin's are based off...

It was really Orochimaru who did it, but Kabuto made the hand signs. Similar to Gamabunta and Narutos transformation
