  • Unclemort, I remember Weller 'shooting' the crowd with his Rickenbacker - it looked and sounded great!

The Jolt looked great in their suits and the song Everybody's The Same really stood out for me - ENERGY!!!!

  • The First Band on here make Terry and The Idiots sound like The Pistols!

  • the original band was atrio youre cold was the first single i saw em supporting the jam the new hearts -who later became secret affair -also played

  • Too friggin' cool! Yeah, not sure who the first band is...The Jolt was definitely cleaned-up by the time the group had gone mod and made its first (only?) LP, but it's still a decent record. "You're Cold" was actually the first single, more raw and punk. The drummer, Iain Shedden ended up in a latter version of the Saints...

  • You're right! Thanks for pointing it out for me.:) i wonder why i haven't noticed that The Jolt were a trio, while the first band was a quartet, and i think they have a female guitarist. This is a bit embarassng... I should've looked more carefully...:) So if anyone knows what band is it,and the name of the song, please leave a comment. Thanks a lot! :) cheers!

  • they had a mod following in glasgow,79, but i dont think they liked it ! i remember the ginger one was a bit of a hippy, and had to cut his hair to be a punk!

  • this is not the glasgow jolt!

  • It is, my friend - that's me, seated, wearing the towel. Thanks for your other comments, by the way. Regards,

    Rob Collins.

  • ah yes, didnt you sing in the marsbar? i remember the redhead he used to have long hair and worked in a record shop just one year before! he was a proper hippy just up to before joining this cool band! i was a mod in 79 and we saw the jolt in the marsbar, they sounded like the jam,i have a badge i got one night its black with bright green writing saying the jolt, sad to say though i got the impression they were very up themselves and didnt like the mods of glasgow being into them.

  • Saw The Jolt with The Jam and Jab Jab at The Lyceum in mid 78 - great gig!

A few months later at the Hope and Anchor as a four piece -

    crowd - "Decoyed......."

    RC - "We're not doin' f*ckin' Decoyed!"

Album is available on CD from Amazon BTW!!

  • @garythemod1 i was at that lyceum gig i think it was the first time they played A bomb and billy hunt

  • I don't think the first song is by The Jolt. The DVD is incorrectly labelled. The Jolt - playing 'You're Cold' - was a trio.

Robbie Collins (seated during interview) played guitar with our band Delta Skelter in 2006. If you see this, hiya Robbo!
