  • WOW....It don't get much more uptempo than this......Awesome. Do they swing or what man.

These guys can blow! Modern jazz at it's finest.

  • the tempo is not 360...it's closer to 300..still PLENTY FAST!!!

  • Jimmy Raney's be-bop guitar concept is fully in place in 1951....AMAZING!!!

  • This is how freaking amazing Stan Getz is! He takes a tune and plays it at the fastest recorded tempo in jazz history and play perfectly articulated improvisations, perfectly phrased lines, and adds his uncanny gift of melodic perfection to bebop!

I'll say it again....no one can ever touch Stan Getz. Pure genius!

  • @1979saxman What tempo was it? cant even tell haha

  • @sirweinerman i can't remember exactly, I'm sure you can google it. just figuring it out it's at least 360. In other words, there's at least six notes you can fit into each beat if the quarter note was at 60BPM.

    Mind boggingly fast!

What's even more impressive was the Stan is probably the most melodically inventive jazz musician ever. Maybe except for Lenny Tristano!

  • Not saying anything.

    Bland.

  • On "Cherokee" changes! WONDERFUL GETZ.
