  • cute peformance

  • very very powerfull boy

  • .ver very powerful boy

  • wow, he's strong! I don't know if he's doing his joints much good though, because they are still growing!

  • Amazing !!!

  • thats an amazing show of strength for a young lad, his technique puts mine to shame too. :)

  • i'm not an expert or anything but it doesn't look like it can be to good for your wrists

  • Kettlebell lifts and snatches are accually nice to the wrists if you have the right technique. At the top, because of it's shape, the kettlebell just hangs in the midde of your hand, just pulling down, so no need to grip it and stress the wrist.

  • its all about technique. on a good snatch you practically beat the KB to the top position. when done incorrectly the kettlebell slams on your fore arm; but when done the right way in never really hits you because you raise your arm before the weight fully adds the dropping movement. the swinging itself won't hurt yor wrists because the weight of the KBs forces you to keep it straight on the most challenging parts of the reps. I currently snatch 3 sets of 10 with a 44lbs as part of my regime

  • yes, you are not an expert :)

  • those same 40 reps with a 35 pounder are part of my daily training... however i'm 22 and it nearly kills me!!!!!

These kid really rocks it hard!

  • hes gonna wack himslef lol

  • what the hell is that

  • Good for this kid, he's a monster!!!

  • looks like it could be painful to full sized balls i wont be doing it that way anyway

  • ow man sux for him if he had short arms O.o

  • wouldnt that hurt the dick after a while ahahaha

  • Pff, I can do that...just. And uh, I'm 23 and weigh probably twice as much as him.

  • thats deffinately 351 pound

  • i wonder wats the risk of that thing hitting the nuts?

  • haha. me2. thats the first question i asked myself when i saw it. if he aint wearing a cup, then i feel bad for them down there.

  • I don't think the boy is using correct form. His hand should not be twisting on the down swing. His palms should be facing down the whole time.

  • Uuhm...ever heard of the corkscrew movement?

  • I guess not. I'll look into it, thanks.

  • This boy demonstrated an outstanding technic,he is a perfect student of a perfect teacher-Valery Fedorenko-world champion

  • that must hurt your nuts...

  • what intelligent comments

    Valery is an excellent coach.

  • I'm not too familiar with kettlebell work... why is it ok to use momentum?

  • If you wanna get technical, thats a swing snatch.. not a pure snatch at least if you wanna get anal about it.. hes getting all his power from the forward momentum imparted on the kettlebell from the swing, not the hip drive which he should be utilizing.

  • Hey kid, you did GREAT! Your arms look real well developed for someone who is 10. Keep up the good work, and best wishes for your future competitions!

  • Hey jasonx95, he probably has no more nuts. Lol.

  • That's not a true snatch, and he's using all momentum, very sloppy

  • Yoy are an idiot, this is the best technic for the kettlebell snatch.

Also momentum is a key for KB sport.

They have to perform more than hundred snatches for 10 min.

I want to see someone who able to perform this move without momentum.

You have to educate yourself about KB.

  • I am plenty educated about KB. It's what you do when you aren't strong enough to be a power lifter or a bodybuilder. I can actually rep 25kg 7 times with no momentum whatsoever Gondon, which is about 60 pounds. Momentum is what is used to make up for lack of strength.

  • No it is not.

You lack the education here. The momentum is part of the movement.

    Jerk uses momentum, press doesn't.

Having Jerk numbers of 150 are work capacity related and not maximal strength related. It is totally different.

Comparing the work capacity of a Girevik to a bodybuilder is funny. Hilarious even, but not more. I'd invite you to try for yourself. And yes, I know about powerlifting. Best way of developing maximal strength next to olympic lifts.

  • I tried it for almost 2 years, it is not worth my time and is more of a sport than a training method. Nobody that is interested in getting stronger quickly and safely should try KB as it is usually taught. Kettle Balls themselves are useful for some lifting movements to help those who are less flexible and have less tendon strength than others, due to their shape. And no, you don't know about powerlifting, it is to develop explosiveness (power), not strength.

  • Powerlifting = Limit Strength

    Olympic Lifting = Power

Limit Strength = Absolute maximal load an organism can move in a certain direction.

Power = Strength Output in relation to time and length of movement.

  • no

powerlifting = doing limit strength on newer more recent exercises

    olympic lifting = oldschool powerlifting.

  • Id agree with the bench press.

With all the other stuff.... you cant clean & press if you dont squat.

And you cant clean nor snatch without training to deadlift.

  • this kid is doing the KB snatch. spot on, what you are talking about is a dead snatch, which is more similar to the o-lift.

the dead snatch also uses momentum to get the KB up, other wise it wouldn't get up, you don't use your arm to lift do you, its all the hips.

i'd say what this kid just did is much harder than 7 dead snatches with 25kg, and if you don't mind me asking did you get a 25kg KB?

  • I have a set of 10kg, 25kg and 40kg, and they lie in my garage untouched as a reminder of years wasted on learning KB. I say years wasted because it was the slowest body development and strength increases I had ever experienced in 6 years of training. It is simply not the best use of your time if you want to add muscle to your body.

  • I'm not a bodybuilder or a user of kettlebells, but I have a sincere question: Is the goal to "add muscle," (as in the showy build of a bodybuilder), or to gain strength? Do the muscles of a body builder correlate to strength, or is it possible to be exremely strong without the hypertrophy of a bodybuilder?

  • I'm going to assume you are talking about KB, and KB itself doesn't really have goals specific to any individuals goals, but KB, as with any weight training, will add muscle and strength. Any individual with more muscle than they had before will be technically "stronger", but this does not mean then will be able to use their strength better. People also have different muscle fibers than their peers. These things combined allow people with less muscle to demonstrate more strength.

  • To sum it up robert101455, KB training can be used to achieve many fitness goals, but were designed to help people (mostly athletes) develop better use of their muscles, in other words, more output in less time, what we call power. A professional bodybuilder will be stronger than your average athlete, but likely not in terms of weight ratio because bodybuilders train for size and proportion, not efficiency. It is possible to become extremely strong at a low weight, even with average body shape.

  • Thats right. Kettlebells are no good for adding muscle because their main function is in strength endurance.

The main reason for the hype is Pavel Tsatsouline. He did something with kettlebells that they aren't.

I would say though that there is a great use for kettlebells. I use them for conditioning because it is fun and what they are good for. Deadlifts, presses, squats, rows for strength and muscle.

  • Would i gain more muscular strength from kettlebell exercises or dumbbells? I want Size and Strength in my body, so i dunno what the hell to do lol. What i've been doing for like 2 months now is using dumbbells.

Bicep Curl - 5 sets 10 reps ea arm.

Dumbbell Wrist Curls - 5 sets 20 reps ea arm.

Tricep Extensions - 5 sets 10 reps ea set.

Then Swedish ab excercise, then ab crunchs, bicycles and scissors

    Squat Jumps w/ DB's - 5 sets 10 reps ea.

and calve raises w/ dumbbells in hand.

  • If you want truly some muscle, get a barbell and loads of weight. Start doing squats, deadlifts, military presses, bench presses & power cleans.

Get yourself the book "Starting Strength" and train after it for a year. If you are still a weeny, everything would be lost.

  • WRONG! to counter that statement, google MIKE MAHLER and tell me kettlebells can't "add muscle".

there are MANY uses for kettlebells. It depends on WHAT YOU WANT from using them. Just like anything.

  • I know Mike Mahler. Quite well actually and im quite fond with Steve Cotter too. Kettlebells have many uses and im a certified kettlebell trainer. If you are looking for maximum increases in short time, aka efficiency, barbells as tools are better.

I use kettlebells mainly for conditioning as they are inconvenient due to fixed weight for strength progression but awesome for ballistics used in high power output conditioning. They can be used for muscle, but they are inconvenient.

  • your talking out your arse mate, kettlebell training has been around for 300 years and champion kettlebell lifters have far more functional strength than ANY powerlifter.. period!!

  • haha, kenandaw, you obviously don't know what you are talking about, I'm sure you didn't look into that at all and just made up something to say to try to sound smart. Anybody educated in fitness knows you are total bullshit.

  • blimey, i dont know who you are but you havnt got a clue, i trained under the IUKL and achieved national standard for kettlebell sport instruction, when you can push a 40kg bell above your head without using your legs and only one arm then maybe you can play with the big boys, till then leave it to us pro's. bye bye sonny.

  • Gondon, I think "Yoy" are the idiot.

  • man, he is gonna be beefy by 18.

  • wow, this kids strong as fuck. at his age with that weight, hes got the conditioning of a horse because of this.

  • He is definitely in shape.

  • i wonder if he hurt his nuts

  • its all in the hips

  • lol look at koenbp's page, everyone hates him, so ignore his worthless opinion. This kid is a beast, he's only TEN years old, and snatching a kettlebell most 20 year old adults have trouble with.

  • Yes, you are...

  • He completed 40 in exactly 2-minutes. If he can keep up that pace he's on track for doing 200 in ten minutes. Very impressive.

  • Excellent! Very Impressive!

  • i believe thats 32 kilos not lbs. even more impressive

  • It's a russian style kettlebell where the 16, 24, and 32 kettlebells are the same size. So you can't judge them by appearance.

  • This kid will kick my ass! lol. Good stuff.....keep going kid.

  • Absolutley Awsome!!!! I am humbled.
