  • I always cry like a waterfall any time I listen to this song. I don't speak Shona but I know two or three Shona words. I can just get from a few words (which resemble Swahili) that he's saying "God is with you" (Mwari e nawe...or something like that). In Swahili we say, "Mungu awe nawe" to mean the same. We also say "kufiwa na mumeo" which means to be bereaved/widowed. Shona must be an easy language to learn if you speak another Bantu language, especially Swahili. I love Oliver Mtukudzi!

  • The kind of song that exposes my mushy feminine side - I dont even know what the words mean, I just flow with the rhythm.

  • Tuku the master! I cant say any more!

  • @brobro565656...why all the hatred? He was playing at Tuku's invitation...in the end, my friend, we are all brothers and sisters.

  • @levendi49 So very true.

  • @levendi49

If we were all brother and sisters black people would not have been enslaved against there will. If we are all brothers and sisters at some point after slavery, blacks would have been given reparations with all the OUTSTANDING interest due. If we are all brothers and sisters, blacks would not be discriminated against to the point were they make up over 70% of the prison population in the US, to the point were they make up the largest unemployed racial category. I could go on forever

  • I watched the Neria movie when I as little, probably 10. And I loved it and this song stood out in the movie. Thank God for youtube coz I have found the song! It makes me have the chills but that's feeling you get with good musicians. Viva Mtukudzi viva!

  • Mee too. I don't know why but tears from deep within my soul find their way through my heart and pour out from my eyes as soon as he starts to sing.

I remeber a tranquile place by the river Nile where the beautiful and undisturbed tunes of Neria first found their way out of a small cottage and into my tent by the border of Uganda and Sudan. Never had music moved me so deeply as it did at that moment.

  • @TheRastateacher awesome! This is the only song that can calm my 18 month old. Accu-Text (TM)

  • NERIA the movie was used in Uganda to teach womens rights. I fell in love with Oliver Mtukudzi since then. John Riber is a splendid Director and has since produced 'Everyone's Child' and 'Yellow Card' all geared towards noble causes. As for the movie NERIA, I would say Phinehas is my an awesome Actorbut Mtukudzi rocks.
