Fellow youtubers, I'm posting this on random videos for the sake of the internet and the world: Today, we should rise up to this SOPA/PIPA crap and show them they're not helping anyone. They are only going to destroy the most valuable thing created by mankind, a world wide connection system helping us learn, communicate, share and make the world a better place.
Let's use the power of the internet to spread this message to everyone
order out of chaos your jewish masters are playing both sides soon to be bring us goyim a jew-free Internet 2 here comes the internet kill switch wake up 锡安的协议 錫安的協議 بروتوكولات صهيون सिय्योन की प्रोटोकॉल シオンのプロトコール 시온의 프로토콜 پروتکل صهیون سییون کے پروٹوکول
Not trying to take sides here, but whenever we talk about OWS's legitimacy we often neglect to bring up past precedents involving protests similar in nature to OWS, like "Grayned v. City of Rockford", and "Cox v. Louisiana". Although the protests involved with these cases occurred back in the time the Civil Rights Movement was underway, does not make them completely inaplicable to today (given that the rulings give some guideline on how one may and may not protest).
While I agree with most of what was said, I don't understand how the first amendment covers camping. No other protest in American history has felt the need to do that and many of them were successful.
I agree that they need to take some downtime. They need to use that time to figure out what they're about and inform the protestors of their mission. They also need to figure out that they're protesting the wrong group of rich people. They also need to quit harassing the 99%.
@dantesinfernal0 your free to protest anywhere non-violently, just like going on strike in front of your place of work people are "going on strike" against america by sitting in public parks, the tents are so they can sleep.
@usrevenge Wrong. Other people have rights, too. Public parks are paid for with tax payer dollars and were intended for specific purposes...one of which is not camping. People have the right to expect to use those parks for the intended purposes since they paid for them, and other people's first amendment rights do not trump that.
But the OWS acts like they're the only ones with rights. Not so. Your rights end where someone else's rights begin.
@DustinLT1985 So you feel that your first amendment rights can fuck other people out of their rights? By your own logic, you're just as horrible as you claim I am.
In reality, you're just a self-centered, iconoclastic asshole who is convinced that the Constitution was written for your personal benefit alone. Sorry to break the news to you, but when your mom said you were special she meant to her, not the whole world. Time to grow up and realize that other people matter, too.
@dantesinfernal0 Why? because I feel as though a long term sit in protest with tents is more effective than a group of people getting together and marching for a day or two? Because I feel than in times of high poverty people have a right to make their griefs known in whatever way possible? Actually, tent protests are much more visually descriptive in a way because we all might end up sleeping in tent cities if shit doesn't improve.. than I doubt anyone will care much about
@DustinLT1985 A lot of people care about it. The OWS movement has the least amount of public support of any movement in the past 100 years because you are INTERFERING WITH THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE YOU ARE ALLEGEDLY FIGHTING FOR. Blocking traffic and seizing possession of public land: who do you think you are really putting out? It's the 99% you're making late for work. It's the 99% eat their lunches and take their kids/pets to those parks.
@PatriotsDomain So when someone voices their disagreement, points out blatant hypocrisy and has no tolerance for general ignorance, it's called trolling? Guess I should have looked the word up.
@PatriotsDomain No, trolling is where you say something inflammatory with the intent of provoking an emotional response. Look it up, already.
And accusing me of posting things without backing it up with facts while doing the same yourself is a bit hypocritical. The fact is that I don't get my news from mainstream media. I don't trust them any more than I trust the government. But you go ahead and assume away. It only shows me that I'm right about you.
@PatriotsDomain I never made any assumptions about where you got your news. You did that about me, remember? I'm going to take a wild guess here: you weren't on the debate team when you were in school, were you? I only ask, because you're not very good at this. Talking out your ass, making baseless assumptions and being a hypocrite aren't signs of victory, and that's all you've done. I wasn't competing with you anyways.
yes you did make assumptions, and you are still doing it. I am not being a hypocrite here, kid. Stop posting stupid shit here and get educated for once in your life.
@PatriotsDomain Calling people 'kid' on the internet is something children typically do. It doesn't insult me like you intended it to, it just makes me think I'm arguing with a 12 year old. That single word makes your entire post reek of 'pathetic.' Oh, by the way: I AM educated. I supported this movement until I became educated about it.
@dantesinfernal0 So what happens when the 99% do not not have jobs to get to? Or when that 99% are living in the park as opposed to eating or playing in the park? Your arguments hold no weight.. Do you think Thomas Jefferson or Martin Luther King would care about public park rights in time of social injustice when people are protesting?
@dantesinfernal0 park rights or whatever you are making a fool out of yourself over.. When people are gathering to attempt to bring about some type of social change, fuck public park rights.. Your argument is ridiculous.. and no sorry I rather think about everyone else instead of my own rights like yourself.. I suggest you take your own advice
@DustinLT1985 The Civil Rights movement, the Vietnam War protests, the Tea Party movement, and countless Union strikes in between...you know what all of them have in common? THEY WENT HOME AT THE END OF THE DAY. But that's too good for the OWS movement, I guess. Better to foul up a park with feces, urine and other trash than to make a schedule to protest 24 hours a day so people can sleep at home. Do you really have no idea how pathetic and unorganized you all look?
@dantesinfernal0 Listen to you.. Your obviously watching to much main stream media to be having this conversation in the first place.. Your logic is TOTALLY fucked.. @DustinLT1985 Wow, you really don't get it, do you? MLK and Malcolm X died fighting for what they believed in. Thomas Jefferson, too, put his life on the line by committing high treason against the crown. That's a commitment that nobody in the OWS has. And you're an utter dipshit if you think that citing the Tea Party as an example is the same thing as showing support for it. If you can't even argue properly on the internet, what social change do you think you'll effect?
@dantesinfernal0 I obviously get more than you do.. You sound like a cnn msnbc fox news talking head.. All of those great men believed in peaceful civil unrest regardless of the way it was used or regardless of who it affected.. get your shit straight otherwise your gonna be left behind.. @DustinLT1985 The problem is more that I DO get it. Those great men did believe in civil unrest, but they DID NOT HARM THE PEOPLE THEY WERE TRYING TO PROTECT. And when they got arrested, they accepted it with dignity. While Fox 5 in New York has been on top of the protests for most of the morning (literally — their helicopter shots have been top notch in chronicling the protests), a quick jump around the dial a little after 9 a.m. showed a general disinterest in the unfolding action in downtown Manhattan:
MSNBC: Chuck Todd talking about the East Asia summit
Anyone living in the greater New York area has likely been glued to their televisions this morning, at work or at home, watching the overhead helicopter shots and on-the-ground reporting from the Occupy Wall Street protests on local news (PIX 11 and Fox 5, in particular, were all over it). Yes, this may be a local story at heart, but there are occupy movements in every major city, and the scope of OWS has gone global. Plus, some of of the overhead shots
The 2011 world chaos is still on the move as countries fall apart and heads of state step aside. The corrupt world banksters are coming under closer scrutiny by citizens everywhere. The 2012 era of extreme deception is approaching. A time is coming when the masses will be severely confused and exploited exponentially. The people will be so deceived that they will be more vulnerable than ever to the talking heads who propagandize unceasingly. Could a "NEW DARK AGE" overtake humanity?
Jesse Jackson visited Duncan Plaza in New Orleans and spoke with Occupy NOLA protesters. The local NBC afiliate, a Hearst Publishing company, had not covered this story all this time excluding when a news report mentioned that there would be an occupy movement group formed in N.O. back about a month ago.
Hey you're being naive lady! Nobody's blocking their first amendment rights. You're not allowed to sleep in the public parks we pay for with our taxes. That's all. The public parks are closed at night for your safety and sanitation, you are welcome there during the day. Quit whining.
@bosshog7169 You are not only naive, but ignorant. That means you are projecting in your insult there. And that means you are a Republican, because no one projects like a Republican. FOAD.
@bosshog7169 I think you need to read more. Zuccotti Park is a privately owned park BUT it is a publicly accessible plaza that, as part of an agreement with NYC, is required to stay open 24 hours a day
I did not know that about Zuccoti. I am more familiar with Occupy DC in my area. Still they must have some sort of laws there against camping in the park and shitting everywhere. I feel like they did these grad students and hippies a favor. They had no plan and no cause and seemed to just want to blindly stand up for something. So arrest them and make them feel like heroes and they can go back to the dorm rooms daddy paid for feeling proud and not freezing for no reason.
@bosshog7169 I think you make a very ignorant and broad statement when you categorized all individuals participating in OWS as "grad students and hippies". The group is representative of people from all walks of life. What is your reason for saying "they had no plan and no cause"? To me it is pretty clear that their cause is standing up to the corruption of our Democratic system, and they're way is peaceful civil disobedience. My guess is that most of them have outrageous student loans.
Yeah I do too, that's why I go to work. I don't like it that banks are greedy either, but sitting outside them playing drums and saying don't be greedy isn't a plan. It's just dumb. Go after the federal govt and the FED that empowers the banks if you want to get something done. I doubt the super awesome drum beats are going to make the bankers have a change of heart and suddenly give you all their money.
@bosshog7169 I definitely agree that the main issue boils down to the government officials who allow such greed to be a fruitful endeavor. Can't really blame a profit oriented corporation for buying a politician when the opportunity arises. My guess is that the banks are an easy, and obvious, target. Protesting them has shown how deep the corruption goes when the police go ape-shit over people just standing around and beating drums because the Mayor told them to protect his rich buddies.
@1988scottcarey Well you know the men in charge have to create shit and problems, so that everyone keeps busy in their jobs, security, police, journalism, social services, doctors, scientists, crime, slavery, laws, technology, war, viruses etc. Creating order out of chaos, so we always look to authority at the finish. It's what makes the world go around. What do we fill in our time with? We have to keep occupied. 4 good films ' Logan's Run ' , ' Bladerunner ', ' Soylent Green ' & ' Terminator '.
The current President of America got himself elected against all the odds by mustering support on the internet. Three years later politicians STILL fail to appreciate the new media. They can force blackouts of the mainstream outlets, but they have no control over online content and this is where Occupy spreads it's message. It is NEVER winter here. Murdoch tried to control it and he failed. This movement will not simply go away, the 99% have got numbers on their side. Watch this space.
Ana made some good points. However, I believe that our movement cannot afford to stop, because what needs to be done is too big to be ignored. We (the 99) need to keep going until our message is heard and our demands are fulfilled.
@pseudonominous There are demands... Like demands to hold major companies and their owners truly accountable to the law and to remove the corrupt officials from our government... If demands are not in place what are the 99 gathering for?
I can't stand Anna, she can be so stupid sometimes, take a break? Are you fucken retarded? If we do this, the movement will not be taken seriously. The government and officials will be given the time to better prepare to bash and deal with this movement. We cannot afford the luxury of giving them that time and continue to rape us and other countries. We must continue without stopping until this is resolved, this is a time to be strong, not weak. Anna grow a pair.
@AnotherWun if they keep organized and keep doing activities and not let the momentum lag it might be a better idea to build up resources for a stronger movement ..they need to let the elite think they have won.. what is so disgusting is the scumbag people in the audience that clapped in support of such a corrupt fiend as Rove
@xadam2dudex Its hard to keep momentum in an Internet society, everyone has a form of ADD. Also I agree with you that its disgusting that people clapped in support of him. Lots of Americans have been brainwashed or are simply to stupid to comprehend what is going on.
@xadam2dudex Hopefully i will not be in trouble here! for saying this.. but keeping a low profile actually often makes the establishment far more suspicious. There is plenty of undeniable evidence of this from many western countries - it is quite unrealistic and naive to think that people have just forgotten because they stay silent considering how badly the economy has been wrecked. Also some sections of the establishment would want to see a rise in positive future expectations for the "99%"...
They need to take a break over winter season, they need to do petitions door to door on specific issues in their home states....public funding of election process...return to paper ballots...legalize HEMP for energy and medicine....on and on.....pay attention to municipal elections<<one of the things they all MISSED!!! get in your local elections and governments...there ARE SO MANY OF THEM...stop protesting and get to work tearing down this bullshit, sheriff elections, THINK
The protesters do need a plan how to survive the brutal temperatures when it goes way down below freezing. Whats wrong with the Churches, open your doors to let them in and also to tent on your grounds. Jesus would want that, remember his Sermon On The Mount: Whatsoever you do to the least of My Brothers that you do unto Me.
@snipervictim maybe some people haven't sold their souls to the devil like u and other materialist who worship money and themselves..u r the root of the evil in the world
No dont stop the first thing you do is start a RECALL of the Mayor RIGHT now dont wait till all this is forgotten. If you stop right now you give the other side time to breath.
well, students go to journalism school, graduate, get that big job opportunity, and sell out their values, morals, and proper judgment as a journalist to become a yes-man for the corporations. They are just as guilty as cops who claim, "im just doing my job". Wake up stupid americans!
The reason why the OWS demonstrations never mentions in the American mainstream media because they're a corporation-owned news channels that are trying to make the American people dumb with reality TV and fast food.
Sorry, bringing tents to a park isn't a right that the first amendment gives you. They are lucky that the local gov decided to let them stay overnight considering that most NYC parks are closed to the public by a certain time.
Now well into its third month, the Occupy Wall Street movement has achieved a worldwide cultural significance unseen since the Vietnam War, but according to a new survey by Public Policy Polling, the appeal of the protests seems to be wearing thin with Americans. Their favorability has only decreased slightly in the poll, from 35% in October to 33% now, but those opposed to OWS have increased from 36% to 45% in that time.
I have. I got an economics degree and now work in an investment bank - making money, going home & having a shower and not smelling like a dirty hippy.
@pseudonominous,No you're not because you're one of the corrupted bankers who are paying the politicians who are afraid of these demonstrators for their power.
@pseudonominous Shower all you like. Use lots of soap. You will never be able to wash off the stench of Greed. Investment Bankers are leeches on Society. I was a carpenter before your brothers collapsed the economy. At the end of the day I could see what I had built. At the end of the day do you think about the lives that you have ruined ?
@pseudonominous so what is it that you contribute to the world?do you make anything?do you teach anything of value to others?do you heal anyone's pain?do you protect anyone?no.all you do is bet other people's money on the markets success or failure.congratulations.you are here in a bid to protect your 'turf'.and for you to take the time,it must mean that you are afraid.you should be.and i'm sure alyona thinks there is nothing sexier than a frightened man with a tiny hard-on.stick to gretchen ..

CNN: a story on Newt Gingrich’s Freddie Mac fees
FOX News: Mitt Romney polling graphics
HLN: Mike McQueary e-mail coverage

Could a "NEW DARK AGE" overtake humanity?
veniceit1 3 months ago
Jesse Jackson visited Duncan Plaza in New Orleans and spoke with Occupy NOLA protesters. The local NBC afiliate, a Hearst Publishing company, had not covered this story all this time excluding when a news report mentioned that there would be an occupy movement group formed in N.O. back about a month ago.

Hey you're being naive lady! Nobody's blocking their first amendment rights. You're not allowed to sleep in the public parks we pay for with our taxes. That's all. The public parks are closed at night for your safety and sanitation, you are welcome there during the day. Quit whining.
bosshog7169 3 months ago
@bosshog7169 You are not only naive, but ignorant. That means you are projecting in your insult there. And that means you are a Republican, because no one projects like a Republican. FOAD.

@bosshog7169 I think you need to read more. Zuccotti Park is a privately owned park BUT it is a publicly accessible plaza that, as part of an agreement with NYC, is required to stay open 24 hours a day
toddlamp 3 months ago
@toddlamp
So arrest them and make them feel like heroes and they can go back to the dorm rooms daddy paid for feeling proud and not freezing for no reason.
bosshog7169 3 months ago
@bosshog7169 I think you make a very ignorant and broad statement when you categorized all individuals participating in OWS as "grad students and hippies". The group is representative of people from all walks of life. What is your reason for saying "they had no plan and no cause"? To me it is pretty clear that their cause is standing up to the corruption of our Democratic system, and they're way is peaceful civil disobedience. My guess is that most of them have outrageous student loans.
toddlamp 3 months ago
@toddlamp
Yeah I do too, that's why I go to work. I don't like it that banks are greedy either, but sitting outside them playing drums and saying don't be greedy isn't a plan. It's just dumb. Go after the federal govt and the FED that empowers the banks if you want to get something done. I doubt the super awesome drum beats are going to make the bankers have a change of heart and suddenly give you all their money.
bosshog7169 3 months ago

JayElleist 3 months ago
@JayElleist
What demands!? I thought OWS didn't have any specific demands!?
Correct me if I'm wrong....
pseudonominous 3 months ago
@pseudonominous There are demands... Like demands to hold major companies and their owners truly accountable to the law and to remove the corrupt officials from our government... If demands are not in place what are the 99 gathering for?
JayElleist 3 months ago
I can't stand Anna, she can be so stupid sometimes, take a break? Are you fucken retarded? If we do this, the movement will not be taken seriously. The government and officials will be given the time to better prepare to bash and deal with this movement. We cannot afford the luxury of giving them that time and continue to rape us and other countries. We must continue without stopping until this is resolved, this is a time to be strong, not weak. Anna grow a pair.

xadam2dudex 3 months ago
@xadam2dudex Its hard to keep momentum in an Internet society, everyone has a form of ADD. Also I agree with you that its disgusting that people clapped in support of him. Lots of Americans have been brainwashed or are simply to stupid to comprehend what is going on.
AnotherWun 3 months ago
@AnotherWun so true
xadam2dudex 3 months ago
@xadam2dudex Hopefully i will not be in trouble here! for saying this.. but keeping a low profile actually often makes the establishment far more suspicious. There is plenty of undeniable evidence of this from many western countries - it is quite unrealistic and naive to think that people have just forgotten because they stay silent considering how badly the economy has been wrecked. Also some sections of the establishment would want to see a rise in positive future expectations for the "99%"...

VoVaKissCam 3 months ago
The protesters do need a plan how to survive the brutal temperatures when it goes way down below freezing. Whats wrong with the Churches, open your doors to let them in and also to tent on your grounds. Jesus would want that, remember his Sermon On The Mount: Whatsoever you do to the least of My Brothers that you do unto Me.
