Thank you for that brother. I understand what you mean. I don't take you for judging me. I've read that book that Bro. Hyles wrote. Good book. But I'm not dead. I'm getting ready for church now. But no more preaching for me. I'm good.
I met with Dr. Hyles and got counsel from him a few different times. Very nice man. I followed his ministry many years. I remember the night he died. I just walked in from a great workout at the gym, and got the news. I'm not Independent Baptist anymore, but I do miss Dr. Jack Hyles.
Why are you not an Independent Baptist anymore? The Independent Fundamental Baptist movement is the only place you can find uncompromising sound doctrine. There are many great preachers still in the movement.
I just got to the place where I could no longer really believe what I was preaching. Thats all. I'm talking about the major staples of what makes someone a "Fundamental Baptist." Every sermon was the same. Now I'm in a southern baptist church, having a good time. I'll most likely never preach again. I attended Texas Baptist College for a summer. I know the deal. I'm just finished with the whole thing.
Sounds like you got to where you no longer could practice what you preach. It is impossible to stand against things your being run over by.
Being a preacher is something your called into, not something you choose like any other vocation. I would say you made the right choice by stepping down.
Nevertheless, may you find forgiveness, peace and the will of God in your life.
I dont want to sound like am judging u, cauz i cant, but i would like to say that i felt the same way not long ago, but what SERIOUSLY change me was a book i read, from Bro, Hyles its called "Meet the Holy Spirit" it saved my life and my ministry. Last thing ur never called to work to dead, ur called by GOD, only to be with him and like him... THEN will you be used to do great things...
Whether or not he brought the word of anyone's God to us is quite debatable. Many of his teachings were utter nonsense - and not supported by anyone's Bible in any way. However, I must agree: the old guy always did have a good sense of humor.
I didn't agree with him on much of anything, but he will be missed.
No he didnt, hear Dr. Jack Hyles preachings, he's one of the greatest preachers in the world and his church is not evil or ungodliness. everything doesnt have to appear from the appearence but by the heart
Charles9759- Wow I wrote that so long ago, I dont even remember writing it. We're probably on the same side & I dont take personal any opposing views. Have a great day.

What about the Fundamental Baptist teaching was it? Was it the soul-winning, the virgin birth, or did you see a lack of solid Bible teaching?
josephericlopez 2 years ago
Just curious, did you switch to another denomination, or just not going to church currently?

I just went to a southern baptist church in my city. Pretty large church. Good, solid preaching there. I really like it.

Did he pinch his bum? These are perverts children of hell. The Bible tells you to refrain from all appearance of evil. Such ungodliness and evil.
