  • your router is a GATEWAY, not functioning as ROUTER

  • All I have is an xbox and tv, what should I get to play live?

  • @XxIronManxX3 Any router will do, but I would recommend running wired. Or atleast 802.11n for wireless if your TV and Xbox has a NIC that uses 802.11n. There isn't enough room here to explain why cause I've tried, but with wired there is less overhead in transmission and 802.11n is the only wireless standard that can keep up with a wired network. That is to say your atleast on a 100Mbs or 1000Mbs wired network. Also with wireless you have to deal with interference, signal strength, etc.

  • @XxIronManxX3 As a side note more than likely if your running a cable internet connection more than likely your runining anywhere from maybe 1Mbs up to 10Mbs. With that in mind wired vs wireless is not of much consiquence other than what I've stated with interference, signal strength, and more overhead in wireless transmissions to and from your router. So pick your poison....I prefer Linksys and routers made by CISCO. Just make sure you update the firmware after you purchase.
