I was covering about 1/4 of that round with my fingers. It's basically a lengthened .45 colt and brother does it pack a wallop with a ton and a half of energy at the other end if you're shooting a heavy round. You can read my description as to the specifics but it's an absolute joy to shoot with the factory recoil pad. Gitcha one,...it's be a GREAT Xmas present. I can GUARANTEE some BIG BANG for the buck, and lot's of "WTF was that" comments at your range :-)

@roadrunner681 its over the case limit here for deer but, i can shoot squirrels with one though. the laws on deer hunting don't make a lot of since, the bullet has to be larger than .357 and the case length cannot be larger than 1.6 inches as of last time i checked for deer but i can use any other gun to hunt rabbits or squirrels but i wouldn't mind to have a 45.70 for hogs though or just for fun

Put a bid in on one on Gunbroker but was outbid. It went for $1175. Really wanted it, but just can't justify (read:afford) it. Lol.
I think Hickock45's vid tacked about $200 on to the market price.

They are AWESOME little rifles,to say the least...
IF,and that is a BIG,IF, you can find one of the only 501 of them made,indeed,grab it up if you possibly can.
I am fortunate enough to have two of the 1895-SDT,the straight grip stock version.

My uncle bought a similar gun twenty years ago or so and he let me shoot it. seems like it would have a ton of knockdown power.
