Yes, Michael Vick should not have been running a dog fighting ring. I love animals and don't like hear animals were killed and tortures. However, I feel he was punished too severely for his crime. He was not physically there fighting the dogs, the dogs were on his property, yes, but he was playing football when all this occurred. His cousins were the real culprits in my opinion.

Yea animal cruelty is bad, but I hate it when people make incidents larger than they are. Same situation with Tiger Woods. Damn, most reasonable option would be community service instead of jail..
We have a bad habit, as a society, of not always making the punishment fit the crime. Murders have gotten less time. He should have been made to perform 5 years of community service and work with the humane society in volunteering his time and efforts in educating people about animal cruelty. I'd much rather my tax dollars go to keeping the really dangerous people off the streets than taking care of someone like Michael Vick while in jail.....just not a practical use of resources.

i think the sentence was fair bt the signs before he even went to trial was fucked up. this is america where our legal system is innocent until proven guilty. not guilty unless proven innocent. so people already was being unfair to him. bt the indorsments i felt where fair. i mean he did use animal abuse for money thats a crime and companies don't wanna support that. what is fucked up is tiger wood losing his bc he wants sum sex lol

Look bro you make a good point at the end but the problem with that is, it creates complexities. What about the next guy, should he be sentenced to jail if he cannot afford to pay ? This would create a system where only people from low socio economic backgrounds go to jail, and the rest who have money or football careers can do whatever they want.

Pitbulls are not bad dogs, mfs train pitbulls to fight and kill other dogs and lots of times attack other people/kids. Its not the pitbulls fault they have a bad rep, its human's fault for putting that dog through that punishment. Now I especially dont like what Mike Vick did, but he was locked up for a year so what more do people want? Hes back now in the NFL, Im glad they gave him a break but theres still people who are just a holes.

the only dogs mike vick killed were dogs that kill...not like these dogs could be adopted from a kennel...like i would adopt one of his dog fighting dogs to avoid mike vick from killing it only so it could bite my kids face off...i feel so bad for those dogs...sike i dont....by killing the dogs he did the community a favor, the only real crime he commited was making dogs fight each other and running an illegal gambling operation..he's going to win the eagles a superbowl and y'all can hate that !

1. His sentence was over the top, 2. couple of hundred hours of community service and a HUGE fine shoulda been his sentence, 3. 2 years was too much, he wasn't fighting these dogs but he bred tham and knew what was going on.

Yes, Michael Vick should not have been running a dog fighting ring. I love animals and don't like hear animals were killed and tortures. However, I feel he was punished too severely for his crime. He was not physically there fighting the dogs, the dogs were on his property, yes, but he was playing football when all this occurred. His cousins were the real culprits in my opinion.

Heres my opinion i totally agree with you Dave. A man should not have to lose 2 years of his life due to a little mistake. And to be a little religous, GOD said we are above all animals and insects. He should have done exactly what you said in the video but I also think he should have done SOME jail time but deffinitly not the ridiculous amount of time he had to do. Donte Stallworth killed a guy while driving drunk and he only gets 24 days in prison while Mike Vick get almost 2 years for killing dogs, im sorry but something doesnt seem quite right.

i think his sentence was a little harsh but appropriate for his actions. There wouldnt have been any point in him speaking out about animal cruelty and what not because if he didnt get caught he would probably have kept on doing what he was doing...i think ppl need to let it go...he did a fudged up thing...he did his time...let the man live his life and stop judging him for that one horrible action...everybody makes mistakes

We have a bad habit, as a society, of not always making the punishment fit the crime. Murders have gotten less time. He should have been made to perform 5 years of community service and work with the humane society in volunteering his time and efforts in educating people about animal cruelty. I'd much rather my tax dollars go to keeping the really dangerous people off the streets than taking care of someone like Michael Vick while in jail.....just not a practical use of resources.

ya i think maybe a 4 month sentence would have been enough i mean look at donte stallworth. this motherfucker killed an actual human being as a direct result of his actions and he gets less than a month. I belive the reason why vick got such a long sentence compared to stallworth is because he is a more known player. if it was peyton that got drunk and killed someone he'd still be in jail

MIchael Vick did get his second chance.. I also believe he recieved the proper sentence. I respect your opinion Dave, but dog fighting is HORRIBLE.. It has become so popular, especially in the black community that Michael Vick had to be made an example of. I bet dogfighters think twice about it now because if MV did almost two years how long will some average dude get. Plus, any human that could do these things to a living creature has a total thug mentality.
