Funny fact is that in the japanese (famicom) version of SMB 3 after "The End" letters you couldn't press start and continue a new game (with the 28 P-Wings). It's only possible in the european and american versions of the game!

Also, it's not Princess Peach it's Princess Toadstool! I don't know when this Peach crap started but when this came out her name was Princess Toadstool not Peach. She's the princess of the Mushroom Kingdom not Georgia.

Yes, it's one of those stupid filters which make the games look like how they were never supposed to look. The most accurate way is turning on NTSC filter and scanline emulation.
