I have this Helmet. The TR1 it's not at all how you say in this review. Yeah it looks cool, but i wear the helmet to protect my Head. The Plastics quality is Crap. see the rear chinguard clips. and the Grey sides of the visor also Crap. It bends awfully too much, and it's noisy as hell, had to put foam trims on the side of the visor. i also paid $200+ for it. Don't recommend it to anyone just for the looks!
Unfortunately, this sometimes happens when a manufacturer makes only 2 or 3 shell sizes to cover a large range of head sizes.
If you end up on the low end of the head size range for that particular shell size, the shell may look big because they have to add EPS and padding to make up the difference.
My brother has one in California, he has a large one. He said that it fits him really well, I'm gonna try it out this week (I'm a big small and a small medium, I'm a 22-22 1/4). Hopefully it fits good. I'll tell you guys how it fits. Thanks for the video.
Well I just tested out my brothers Large Airoh TR1. I will say that the large was too large for me, even with the cheek pads on. I will fit perfectly on a medium for sure. Hope it helps some people with sizing.
a picture - video in this case really is worth a thousand words. :)
Thank you. Very Helpful review.
straight talking - most informative.

i LIVE in Europe / am a Bike Instructor / can buy these "off the shelf" / yet have never seen a review like this from any Euro based website or magazine!
keep it shiny side up and see you on the road someday.
I had thought about buying one of these ( here in Texas ) but, after your review I don't think it would be worth the trouble. I wear glasses and I was looking for a helmet ( like my old Shoei Dou-tech ) that I could just slip on With me glasses on and flip up when I stop. I'm glad I saw that the chin piece is a fragil little pop on piece instead of a solid structural part of the whole.
Just received my TR 1 yesterday... and without the sunshade I suppose glasses do fit. But when you try to use the shades that are built in to this helmet... I guess you can forget about it. (Or wear contacts instead).
They seem to run one size small. We get visitors from all over the world, so we review products that are available in many countries. You'd have to order one from the UK...
I bought this helmet today and Ive seen your review after purchasing it. That said your review is very accurate and it is indeed a superb helmet. It does feel a tad plasticky and it is a snug fit bit it does look the business! My version is matt black which makes it look like something from Airwolf or Clint Eastwoods Firefox. :)
Sounds like you were wearing a helmet while giving the review.

@timeallows Yes, this was one of our earliest video reviews from 2007, using the mic on the camera. We stopped doing that a long time ago!

Good idea for all helmets, this one especially, as it is very different than "normal' helmets.
wbwvids 3 years ago
Found some on Ebay! Might give it a go.
Im a Large, any idea the equivalent in British helmet size? If not its cool.
ken151979 3 years ago
Find your head circumference and change it to cm.
Then follow this,
XS (53/54), small (55/56), medium (57/58), large (59/60), XL (61/62), XXL (63/64)

It's tight on the sides, so it doesn't work well with glasses.

Until now I had the Airoh PR2000 & the Airoh Warrior... both were absolutely top quality helmets!
Thx for the video on the TR1!

Does that mean I should get a large instead of a med?
barm13 2 years ago
I definitely suggest trying this helmet on first before you buy it. It has a very different fit and a different feature set than "normal" helmets.
