  • bullshit. i dont agree with the twins on this one. dbell squat is a productive whole body exercise, like the deadlift when done correctly. they hit the legs, traps, lats, forearms and with less stress on the lower back. you see no one doing them because they are hard. but the hardest most difficultest exercises are the best to do.

  • Whats your oppinion on V-squats? I know they arnt the same but they help with my form to keep my back straight while i squat, and after i started getting around 400+ lbs my legs started getting very sore (In a good way) so im guessing they are working, anyone have any oppinions?

  • why not do lighter weights with dumbbell squats and deadlifts and save the heavier weights with the barbell? I try to incorporate every type of training (ploymetrics, isometrics, conditioning, core workouts, etc.) so I can perform in any type of sport or athletics to the best of my ability. But if I was just concentrating on bodybuilding, then I guess ur way is much better. But hey, its just advice right?.....YOU CAN DO WHATEVER THE FUCK YOU WANNA DO!!   • @MrJordybt well i will contradict you, i can contribute alot of my injury to football, but i have a stress fracture in my lumbar and same deal, had been deadlifting since i was around 14-15. and YES i had correct form with them, i wouldn't speak out about them if i didnt use proper precautions, its also alot of genetics too probably, but for those people who have family history of back problems it can be a death sentence to their lifting

  • Hey guys. So basketball season starts in a month. Ive been doing 4 day split for 5 months now. Thinking of changing that to 3 day split Push/pull/legs.

    What do you advise on doing throughout season?

    Training bball x2 a week and game on sunday.

  • Dumbbell squats suck ass. try holding 100 pound dumbbells each in your hands while ur working out ur legs. Besides it always swings or hits my knees those damn weights. Barbell i feel it in my legs so much more too.

  • @ deadlifts are only dangerous when people dnt use the correct form, like ego lifters who round their entire lower backs and slip a disc.Btw no other lift can make up for not doing deadlifts; hits the lower back, thickness on your entire back, shoulders, lats,hams,some quads, glutes,core, stabilization muscles, traps etc... its really a complete workout

  • @DeViLgaMr i think a lot of what thesse guys say is tru but i have to disagree on this one.....it think its because doing deadlifts exarcebated their lower back condition. Anyhow, i personally think deadlifts are awesome and i suggest you incorporate that into your back workout (unless you have back problems). Also other exercises to work your lower back are bent over barbell row, bent over long bar row, seated leaning dumbbell flyes or pull ups. Good luck mate.

  • Thumbs up for deadlifts!!! deadlifts are one of the best, if not thee best exercise. It builds explosive power, a hell of a lot of strength, and it piles on back muscle and is pretty much a whole body workout. There are some athletes out there that go to the gym and do some lat pull downs, then a bunch of deads then call it a day.
