  • OMG im in this video @ 2:07 !!!! LIKE so everyone can see !

  • All Hmong people ever do is complain. STFU and just watch.

  • @greencupcake08 not complain, their just proud. not many people know us because we dont have a country

  • @annolov3r All the Hmong/Miao that has dispersed away from Southern China during those long war times with the Han, said we don't have a country. Make senses though. All you Hmong who called Laos "home" isn't our homeland. Southern China is. We're commonly known or called "Miao" and that is where our true origin started.

  • ok..... what does that has to do with hmong food? lmao

  • @zumepro It's still Laos.. lol.

  • @zumepro For many Hmong, Laos is home because that's all they've ever known. Just because we "originated" from Southern China doesn't mean that, that is "home." Origin ≠ Home.

  • @annolov3r I am speaking about the people on here about how they complain about the way he pronounces "Hmong." Get over that crap and just watch and no duh I know that Hmong people are proud.

  • 2:24 , Omg , that's My Aunty ! XD

  • love this video!

  • love it!!!

  • MN actually doesn't hold the largest hmong population in the world, that honor goes to guizhou

    China.

  • @mInI3c33 but you still eat hmong food right? Lmao

  • What did he say to the lady towards the end??

  • @mInI3c33 he said fist bump or "taus tes" in hmong spelling

  • "a little poopy...in a good way..." hahaha...thx for the comment on our food Andrew...but really...to me...i think its disgusting...no offense!

  • I actually understood what that lady said about those thing...the vendor lady...hehehe...

  • HAHAHA! THATS SO FUNNY! I love this guy so much! Gotta respect him...tehehe... Love the way he says "Hmong"---> "Mung"...sniker....tehe...SIGH! SHOUT OUT TO ALL MY COUSINS! even though we aren't blood related or what not...WE STILL RELATED SOMEHOW!!

  • No pho?? Come on LOL

  • @eastdistrict RIGHTRIGHT! PHO MAN! THATS THE NUMBER ONE THING EVERYONE WANTS TO EAT B4 PAPAYA SALAD!

  • @eastdistrict Hmong not Vietnamese. Give credit where its due.

  • @eastdistrict i think it's because pho is vietnamese lol

  • Como International Market! Lol

  • The largest population of Hmong is in Southern China, the Homeland. In China, Hmong are well-known as Miao, it means "seedlings."

  • @zumepro I thought "Miao" had a negative connotation to it...

  • @MissVKhang The Chinese character for "Miao" is 苗, which means seedling, sapling, shoot. If you have done an extensive research, the Miao/Hmong are actually the originator of rice cultivation in Southern China, our Homeland. The word "Miao" bad? Well, think about this. A word in any language may sound and mean something else in another language. For example, the pronunciation of "Miao" may sound like "cat" in the Mien/Yao language.

  • @MissVKhang It also have another negative connotations as "being Barbaric" in the Han's history. So Why? Well if you look into our history and the Han, We Hmong/Miao people are sophisticated, smart, strong, independent, nature-lover, and peaceful and the Han at the time were battling against us for control and land. But the Han lost to Us many many times. That's why we are considered "Barbaric" during that time period.

  • @MissVKhang According to the Han's history, when they first met our people, WE have already implemented iron or steal tools, weapons, and "things" in our daily lives. On the other hand, they were using sticks and stones. We have a rich history and much of our written history has been destroyed, disappeared, forgotten, during war times. Much of our history is past down orally. It's important that WE, be proud of our people and at the same time don't put others down.

  • snaps! ino that hmong lady setting up the fruits! and damn they make the papaya look good as hell!!

  • hmong?whats that

  • @MinzyAlly93 ethnic group of Asian people

  • @MinzyAlly93

minority asian ethnic group...we're originally from China (known as miao by the chinese)...long story short..we were involved in helping the US during the Vietnam and eventually some(many) got the chance to get a better life here in the states since then.

  • @aznboy0789 -_- as said at the beginning of this vid lol

  • @MinzyAlly93 human just like you. smh -_-

  • cute ass chick at 2:17 haha

  • Dude forgot to try cow shit.... no literally.... cow shit. Best cuisine ever, and that is not implied as derogatory in any manner.

  • 2:16 - what a cutie

  • such chinese music. i think Hmong people should start coming out with theirs, or we're going to be scar forever as chinese!

  • @maliemay bamboo flute would of been more fitting

  • @maliemay Chinese is a nationality, just like American. It's Han to be ethnically correct.

  • @maliemay Being or sounding Chinese is just too broad, even though we originated from China. In a way, we are Chinese but just not of Han ethnicity. Oh yes and there is a lot of bamboo in China.

  • @gumonmyshu most hmongs aren't born in laos?

  • Comment removed

  • @maliemay i agree...were not chinese...they abandoned us....

  • Hmong people do have there own written language and also hmong people came over mostly because of the secret war in korean prior to vietnam. I alslo thought there where more hamoians in california.

  • watching this makes me miss living in MN, i used to go to that market A LOT during the summers.

  • I'm Proud to be a Minnesotan but what i'm also proud of is being Hmong...

  • Stop complaining how people pronounce it. Saying that you hate how "American's" pronounce Hmong is absurd. If you're hmong and you're born in this country, that makes you American as well. Be proud that they even did this video on hmong food.

  • The old flee market ! Awwh too bad I dont really go there anymore. But I wonder when this Tv episode was on, never seen it before & I like to watch Andrew Zimmerman :P

  • @therealneon Me too they say it like Hmung

  • I like the random asian song in the background, because we're asian they throw in an asian song that does not even represent Hmongs but Hmmmmmmmmmmmm~ PAPAYAAAA! :D

  • @chriskie07 thats not even a Hmong song, thats some Laos/ Thai song they threw in

  • @racistnikka I know, that's what I said. It wasn't a Hmong song >.> & it sounds more like Chinese to me.

  • hahah they are the Mungs lol

  • mung? what the heck?

  • actually, the biggest hmong population in the world is still in china. but thats okay.

  • looking at all that food made me hungry....

  • LOL........MN flea market!!! love that place

  • STFU about him pronouncing "Hmong" incorrectly. Be thankful for the exposure dammit. People pronounce things differently all the time. I don't see people pronouncing the words "Mexican", "Chinese", or "French" the way it should be properly pronounced either but do you hear the people making WW3 out of a mispronunciation? And on a personal note, I think "hmung" sounds closer to how it's supposed to be pronounced anyway. Props to Andrew Zimmerman.

  • @mvr0cks Ahahaha right, at least he didnt say Ha-mong ahahaha

  • @mvr0cks for real. some hmong people cant even pronounce america right. they say amelikas. stop complaining when a white man cant pronounce hmong right.

There are some in WI too, Madison, Oshkosh, Appleton, Green Bay. Plus Andrew Zimmern went to the old one, there is a new bigger one in St. Paul. Plus the Minneapoils Hmong farmer's market is bigger.
