im 29 years old and i have been watching wrestling since 1988. All these kids and teenagers think they know everything ... the best years in wrestling were the early 90s late 90s (15 certificate then ) and early 2000. wwe is terrible now and it wont change until they remove the pg rating. wrestling is so watered down now its boring

Im just praying that the RAW GM is sometone like The Rock or Austin and they usher back in more of the attitude era. Taker v Kane rivalry kinda brought back memories.

Kurt is absolutely correct, it's up to the wrestler as to how much he can wrestle, and whether or not he takes drugs, etc. The WWE/TNA does not force a wrestler to wrestle.
That's wrong. The wrestler is contractually bound to do his work, and the punishing schedule sometimes makes people make the wrong decisions. Personal responsibility is very important, we both agree on that, but I think once you sign a contract with a company, you're obliged to fulfill it.
True, the punishing schedule does not help. But also what does not help is the overwhelming desire and passion to wrestle - this desire also can take over one's judgment. So still it is up to the wrestler themselves to decide if long term this is really in their best interest, regardless of the schedule or their immense passion to wrestle.
i think thats a very flawed argument by kurt because the biggest names in tna are booker t, kurt angle, scott steiner, sting and kevin nash, all have been at the top for decades
Booker T isn't in TNA anymore, Steiner isn't at the top either. Nash isn't a main eventer anymore, and hasn't been for a couple of years. Angle, yeah, but he's still a top flight wrestler.

WWE needs to build main event stars on Raw because so many WWE main eventers are hurt Like Triple H and Randy Orton(I know he is still in the picture, But he can't do much because of his Dislocated shoulder). And WWE has just started to push Sheamus and The Miz Because they need too. Cena NEEDS to put Sheamus over because theres no top heel on RAW with Orton going face and Chris Jericho gonna be out soon they need to elevate young stars like Smackdown did with Jack Swagger.

A fairly big name has to turn heel, either Christian, MVP, or Morrison because as you mentioned they're running out. Had McIntyre & Barrett not had visa issues they'd be looking to get a belt soon, especially Barrett.

@mando267 Attitude Era is so overrated, it wasn't very good. The gimmicks were ridiculous back than, kayfabe like that would never work these days. They relied too much on brutality and vulgarity, while there were only a few guys who could really wrestle.

I liked it better when WWF, WCW, and ECW were individual products. The merge killed everything within 3 years.
From age 4 years old up to me turning 29 I rarely ever missed more than 3-5 shows per year including Monday nights, and PPVs, but the last 2 years I think Ive watched 1 full Monday night show, ans no PPVs. Its just not the same for some reason.

Kurt is absolutely correct, it's up to the wrestler as to how much he can wrestle, and whether or not he takes drugs, etc. The WWE/TNA does not force a wrestler to wrestle.

That's wrong. The wrestler is contractually bound to do his work, and the punishing schedule sometimes makes people make the wrong decisions. Personal responsibility is very important, we both agree on that, but I think once you sign a contract with a company, you're obliged to fulfill it.

True, the punishing schedule does not help. But also what does not help is the overwhelming desire and passion to wrestle - this desire also can take over one's judgment. So still it is up to the wrestler themselves to decide if long term this is really in their best interest, regardless of the schedule or their immense passion to wrestle.

Booker T isn't in TNA anymore, Steiner isn't at the top either. Nash isn't a main eventer anymore, and hasn't been for a couple of years. Angle, yeah, but he's still a top flight wrestler.

WWE needs to build main event stars on Raw because so many WWE main eventers are hurt Like Triple H and Randy Orton(I know he is still in the picture, But he can't do much because of his Dislocated shoulder). And WWE has just started to push Sheamus and The Miz Because they need too. Cena NEEDS to put Sheamus over because theres no top heel on RAW with Orton going face and Chris Jericho gonna be out soon they need to elevate young stars like Smackdown did with Jack Swagger.

@GameBigc I agree but I think they're headed in the right direction with Sheamus, Swagger and Miz. A fairly big name has to turn heel, either Christian, MVP, or Morrison because as you mentioned they're running out. Edge is still in the picture along with Punk, I also expect for Ziggler to get push and get a shot at the IC belt soon. Had McIntyre & Barrett not had visa issues they'd be looking to get a belt soon, especially Barrett.

@mando267 Attitude Era is so overrated, it wasn't very good. The gimmicks were ridiculous back than, kayfabe like that would never work these days. They relied too much on brutality and vulgarity, while there were only a few guys who could really wrestle.

I liked it better when WWF, WCW, and ECW were individual products. The merge killed everything within 3 years.
From age 4 years old up to me turning 29 I rarely ever missed more than 3-5 shows per year including Monday nights, and PPVs, but the last 2 years I think Ive watched 1 full Monday night show, ans no PPVs. Its just not the same for some reason.

Attitude era was big largely because of shock value, a lot of blood, outrageous plots, Mae Young giving birth to a hand, Austn being crucified etc. I don't think that stuff could work these days, with the internet being so big now kayfabe just can't be pulled off convincingly anymore.

great interview. Honestly, I dont mind watching either of these. WWE is more "acting" and "segments" & TNA is more action. I just enjoy the sport. however, the WWE still has more character with DX, Undertaker, Cena etc... but its not as extreme as TNA. I love kurt angle though. even when everybody hated him, i loved him. amazing wrestler
