I remember watching Liberace, I think it was on the Merv Griffin show with this puppeteer performing Send in the Clowns - probably in the 60's. I never forgot it and so I decided to search for it! What joy to see it again after so many years!
Very entertaining. I wonder how the ballon was blown up, and remained so before being squashed? Forget what was said about his personal life, Liberace will always be remembered as one of the all time great pianists. His range was phenominal.
This cute video segment, featured talented puppeteer, Barclay Shaw, who was a supporting act for Liberace in his 1978 show at the LV Hilton, that year. The adorable little clown was called, "Toto".
You're welcome! I followed Liberace's career for many years and saw lots of his shows. He had some great supporting acts over the years, but Barclay was one of the best. He also had another very funny 'chicken' puppet, but I don't think it was every put on video.
Hello again Mark. If you'd like to see another amusing Liberace video, check out 'Liberace - Dance of the Skeletons". It's from his 1950s TV shows, but very timely for the Halloween season.
much has been said about liberace's lifestyle and flamboyance. this video illustrates tha he does connect with the kids too!! music knows no boundaries with lee at the helm. a real virtuoso.
