I just bought one of these.. i play alot of traditional country and outlaw country. im the only singer.. and was missing the harmony till i got this.. We have got so many compliment's on the vocals.. and the only thing i can say is "Thank digitech" This video had at lot of persuasion on my purchase... And it is truely plug and play!!!!!!!!

@jjhbowers it has has presets for a few different gospel harmonies, and the ability to start a harmonized part or a song with 2 part and step up to 3, 4, 5 part with just pushing a button.
This guy is knocking the TC Helicon...try the Harmony G....blows the Digitech out of the water...much more natural harmonies and I also own the Voiceworks Plus...don't know why this guy had to do all the "tap dancing" with it....as well...the VW+ can also provide up to 5 part harmony...I've spent a fair amount of money on these things so I have researched them as well as test driving...TC Helicon is far superior....just my opinion...

Nice demo, if the audio is a bit overmodulated. With kit like this, nobody needs to make music with anybody else; they can just sing and play to themselves through headphones. That way they don't have to worry about it being any good.
Can the harmony key be set to sharp and flat keys when musIQ is off. I play acoustic guitar in a lot of our songs but when I'm not I would still like harmonies based on the key BUT we are all down tuned half a step to Eb.
people i own one of these you DO NOT need to plug any instrument into it... you can just sing into it. i use it on stage live but the when you use it in a full band setting it sounds cheap and petty, sorry to say cause it works great with just me an my acoustic.
Well, now don't I feel very foolish buying the TC Helicon Voice Live Unit. The demo and description when this unit was first intriduced said nothing about the fact that it WILL work without an instrument plugged into it. It just won't access the Mus IQ feature. So that plus the fact it DOESN'T have MIDI access is why I never got one. Our lead singer got one cheap from eBay and it works just like this video. If only Digtech said it would work without an instrument I might have tried it.
From what I've observed with Marc's videos is that he says Tc Helicon is like your dancing to change the settings and the Digitech is much more simpler to understand and use. But I don't know very much on the Helicon's.
I know you weren't referring to me but I thought I'd give my answer to this question. I think the TCH Live 2 is a phenominal unit. Please simply keep in mind that there is a HUGE difference in price AND the level of detail within the TCH unit as opposed to the Digi unit. For the retail price of about $400.00 ya can't beat the Live 4, but if you are a perfectionist or have the reasons or the need to impress your friends or clients then go with the TCH unit. I don't tap dance, but I use the TCH
Hi champ. If one uses Dtech 4 and records vocals with harmony on a protools track, can they be separated to get the mix right between lead vocal and harmony or is it a case of one track fits all?!
I have a suggestion I did in my studio back BEFORE computers. I recorded the lead vocal onto a track then used the direct out from that track into a harmonizer or sampler to create all vocal parts and harmonies. It should be even easier now with computers. So the unit should be useful by sending the guitar or key track into the unit for the chords, then line in the lead vocal and POOF!! Harmonies!! Or can't a computer do what a hard disk or old reel to reel do through a recording console??
this looks cool but i really want to 'record' high quality reverb vocals on pro tools. Will this do that or do I need something more specific to do that?
You've got your standard effects including Compressor/Gate, EQ, Reverb, Delay, and Pitch Correction, just to name a couple.
You may need to got to the Vocalist live pro for world-class Lexicon Reverb, but you will not have your guitar effects as it is much more focused on your vocal tone.
I will be uploading a few more videos on Marc Cooper, there might be something useful on them.
In fact I've read about it and see a few vids. You need a lot of training with your feet in order to make it do just exactly what and when you want it, I dare to say.
This is easier, no doubt. And sounds nice.
I'm just questioning if it can sustain your voice as a chorus like the "user boton" in the helicon. If so, this gear is the bomb.
Yeah that's exactly what Marc said and he used to beTC Helicon demonstrator 7 years and he said there are a lot of steps you need to take to learn how to use the device.
Its not a great example of out of the box ease of use with the reports I've heard.
Hey and I am just about to upload a video that hopefully might answer your question about how long will it hold its harmony.
The 2 part and even 3 part harmony sounds the most realistic for live! :D

@brianj40 I can see why he knocks the TC Helicon. It is an antique compared to the Digitech live 4.

as long as your keyboard produces chords, you should be just fine.

Man I wouldn't be Surprised if it can, if it doesn't come with it you can always upload it. It's pretty amazing !
How are you finding Helicon ?

Hey dude,
I have heard that the TC Helicon is hard to operate and Marc says that in this video too.
But I must say I have never used a TC Helicon, what are they like to use?
Take it easy dude
