  • With the death of Cronkite and Schorr and the retirement of Bill Moyers, the News media and the Country has lost a trio of INTEGRITY giants. When people yearn for the good old days, I hope they yearn for truth in journalism. Report the facts, not doctored videos and self proclaimed experts in science who've never cracked a science book or done research.

  • Wow! What a loss... that VOICE and Insight into politics. RIP Daniel Schorr!

  • God, I will miss this man.

  • RIP, Daniel. You inspired us all by living a good life.

  • Thank you Daniel

  • The best radio journalist ever, and the model for my commentaries while working for Adventist World Radio. Rest in peace...

  • What a thoughtful, balanced man. I've noticed he hasn't been on NPR much lately and now he's gone. I will miss his calm voice of reason and thought provoking words. Master of words, rip.

  • I loved his news analysis. His voice (in both senses of the word) will be missed.

  • RIP

  • RIP to the GIANT of a reporter. He can never be relaced but lets hope his legacy will never be forgotten.

  • RIP

  • Rest in Peace, Mr Schorr.

  • rest in peace daddyo

  • With Cronkite's passing, Schorr is one of the most important remaining news analysts of the classic stripe. Hope I'm as sharp as him at 92

  • Daniel Schorr's is the calm voice of wisdom against the shrill salesmen of tv.

  • the last real journalist...

  • I know, right? These guys today don't even know what to do with a guy like Daniel Schorr. The last vestige of Ed Murrow. He keeps kicking though...I hope he sees 100 and goes to work that day. He can retire when he's 110.

  • I didn't hear the 2006 piece you refer to, so I cannot comment on it. I do know that I've heard and read enough of his news analysis that I've found both insightful and credible up to the current week to hold him high esteem. Naturally, I haven't always agreed with him and history has proven several of his analyzes fallible. But in terms of knowledge, experience and wisdom, he stands head and shoulders above most of his peers, in my opinion.

  • Hear, hear!

  • Daniel Schorr is one of the most important voices humanity has known. One of the most observant and insightful. May he live another 91 years!

  • He also still maintains Oswald acted alone...

  • Kevin, See ch. 8 - of Schorr's *Clearing the Air*: "that Oswald acted on his own . . . cannot be proved . . .it would be comforting to know that Oswald acted on his own - not as part of some dark . . .plot . . .it is less comforting to realize that the chain of events may have started with the reckless plotting of the CIA against Castro, perhaps in pursuit of what it thought to be Kennedy's aim. An arrow launched into the air to kill a foreign leader may well have fallen back to kill our own"

  • he wrote that in 1977. I heard him on npr as recently as 2006 steadfastly defending the warren commissions findings. I too used to hold him in very high esteem, but he's lost all credibility with me now.

  • Why? Oswald did, in fact, act alone. One doesn't have to be TOO smart to figure that out.
