@cismok No :) Ten units were sourced from GM-EMD in 2001, and thereafter IR started building these locos in India under license. These locos have the 4000hp EMD 16-710G3B engine. Newer versions develop 4500hp.

The UBL DP-4s are always run MUed when one of them has just come out of a repair. We spotted this pair bringing in the Siddagangs intercity to Bangalore from Hubl on the 22nd. As you mentioned, a single WDP-4 is more than capable, but in this case one of the locos is being tested by running MUed.
