I live in Australia, and i dont think i have ever gone to anyones house and they have served me kangaroo. If they even tried to i would easily decline. I do see it at supermarket stores and i cringe everytime. Australian people are really so stupid. Why can't they see this is sick and wrong I am ashamed to live in Australia thank god i can say im not Australian. honestly, beating a baby joey on a car? How could this be the national icon for this country when aussies eat them? Sigh. Emchesemche

The sad thing is that farmers in NSW are now co-operating with kangaroo shooters who can now come on their property and shoot kangaroos. The shooters party is trying to get a bill through next week to shoot kangaroos and other native animals in NATIONAL PARKS!!!
I am ill. I thought Australia was the land of environmental-bliss. I find, instead, that it has never outgrown its roots of "wack 'em and stack 'em" REDNECK mentality. Shameful...the Australian govt makes Bush almost look good. Oh. Wait. They were friends.
Yeah, that was the picture I'd gotten too. However, I was told that kangaroos were "pests" because of an overwhelming number of them. I really thought it was true. This will certainly make me think twice about eating them if I'm accepted to study abroad there (which this is my second year trying to do so). My charming Australian skydive instructor (whom I should probably ask how HE feels about all this) may have shattered the ice to bits, but I think Steve Irwin chipped off the first piece.
... The comfort I'll draw is that there are at least SOME people in Australia who are trying to save their precious wildlife. I saw 2 wallabies at the California State Fair last year, and I fell in love with them instantly!
Nice propaganda video, I am sure someone might believe you, I don't...There are over 25 million kangaroo's in Australia, not quite near extinction yet...
I understand some do, and some don't. In light of all this, I will certainly not go out of my way to eat them, especially after a quote from Steve Irwin pleading not to eat or buy kangaroo products. My only concern is what am I supposed to do if I go to Australia as an exchange student and I'm served kangaroo at someone's house? I wouldn't want to eat it for the sake of those who don't like that, but I wouldn't know how to keep from offending one or the other.
You talk as though it is common to eat in Australia. It isn't. The main meat that is eaten is fish, chicken and beef.
Very rare you'll find someone eating Kangaroo in Australia and if you do, you'll usually find that they have no idea of bad the industry is and just think that it somehow comes from some 'farmed' Kangaroo somehow, and so everything is ok. That or they just have no care for wildlife.
Someone needs to string this Victor guy up and the Australian people need to fight against such atrocities. Managing a population through seasonal hunting is one thing. This is just horrible!
How Shocking that this is actually being allowed to happen in our own Country by our Own Government. What a National Disgrace this is. I am totally Shocked. People need to know what is really happening and that Kangaroos are quite clearly close to Extinction. Yes our National Emblem close to Extinction!!!!!!!

Steve Irwin was against these atrocities. Was against all wildlife products. I wish he was still around! :(

Same here. Very sad. The Kangaroo is Australia's national symbol, yet this happens? I'm just glad it isn't Australia wide.
