A lot of people don't realise there were 4 Geneva Conventions. NONE of them say anything about hollow point ammunition. The Hague Convention of 1899 (the first one) did however.
4. I've known plenty of Infantry Soldiers who don't know guns so well. Just because you can put accurate fire downrange doesn't mean you know a rats ass about concealed carry. So the whole military experience thing doesn't hold water.

1. "I want a pistol for self defense but I'm not sure what to get" is code for "I have no idea what I'm doing."
2. Based on her request for a self defense gun, he offers a 5-round revolver. She says she wants a 15-round auto. He probably assumed she wanted concealed carry. That's reasonable.
