ALL sacred texts bear some contradiction in them so you should not have just isolated Hindu texts alone. It's the interpretation of these sacred texts that is important and according to what I as a Hindu was thought, blood sacrifices are not permitted in worship. I agree in ancient times animal sacrifices were common in ALL faiths but according to the Sanatan Dharma it is forbidden as Hinduism teaches reverence for life and that to spill blood on Holy grounds is to make it filthy and UNHOLY!

haha, ashvamedha? Rajasuya? Purushamedha? These are all yagnas that involve the burning/offering of an animal through the (sacred) fire to the gods. The Mahabharata has a whole section on Yudhishthira's Ashvamedha sacrifice, haha. These current animal sacrifices are not even like how they were in the ancient days. Needless to say, times are different: this type of shit ain't necessary anymore :)
