  • a fungus could survive in space from a source planet but not develop from comet remains or asteroids, the most these things carried were carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen. Yea growing materials FOR proteins, but in no way could a plant or fungi develop in space like that

  • Why they interrupt him seriously it needs to be monologues, because those other guys talk stuff I don't care, joe is like "mushrooms are silly, but you know..." then the faggot FUCK interrupts him, what a BULLSHIT!

  • To what he says around 5:27; that isnt rediculous; what's rediculous is that our own kind would try to get rid of something that comes naturally to the planet. Shrooms arent anything new, nor something we know nothing about. Same goes with pot; people have used these things for thousands of years and all of the sudden you come to the conclusion that it's bad. Thats complete bullshit. They(govt) just want everything to benefit themselves. If you dont agree, share your opinion; Id like to hear it.

  • sugar is the key, baby!!!

  • Um, I don't think that there's any great controversy in the scientific community at large about the meat-diet in early proto-humans. Also Terence Mckenna's ideas are NOT scientific theories based on observable facts. Mckenna's "evidence" are *alleged* outcomes that seem to lack any consistent measurement or observation that could legitimately be called a theory. Rogan misuses terms, propagates fallacies, and seems to be talking out of his ass... again.

  • @ralphyetmore i think you're all shit and not open minded

  • @plungeybabie I think that you don't know what the term "open-minded' actually means, otherwise you wouldn't have responded to me like you did.

  • The other guy in this video is effing annoying. We dont want to hear you "ya ya ya ya" "uhu uhu" "oh okay" Like stfu.

  • the human body only needs a 1/3 of the average amount of meat we take in

  • 5:25 WASNT EXPECTIN THAT HAHA

  • I do believe domestic agriculture had a lot to do with cognition also

  • @dropintospace yeah I agree the Neolithic revolution should really have sped brain development along.

  • what podcast was this?

  • @SealClubblingsClub the Joe Rogan Experience.

  • I don't know, I've smoked a lot of shit in my day, But still don't think we came from monkeys,

  • @IrishmanNH Study evolution

  • @IrishmanNH

What you 'think' is irrelevant.....what's important is what the facts show.

  • @0ptikz funny that considering half of what we teach in schools is 'theory', they just happen to be the first theorys we had with a few facts to hold them together..... wasint that long ago we thought the earth was flat and smoking was healthy, hell we may have even dissproven the speed of light as being the fastest speed!! i mean that fuckin crazy man and it just keeps going.

  • @coreybuchan21 If you actually understood the meaning and criteria that would make something a scientific theory, then you wouldn't be describing it in the way that you did here. I'd suggest looking into the scientific process, the criteria involved in taking something from a hypothesis to a scientific theory, and the perponderence that is need for such theories before attempting to discern thier legitimacy.

  • @ralphyetmore geez dude your being far too specific, sure im talking in simplistic terms but when you consider the changes we make to certain theories over 20, 50 or even 100 years its amazing how many assumptions are thrown in there, im not talking all scientific theory, and im not trying to be specific im simply saying a small assumption can lead you a long way in the wrong direction

  • @coreybuchan21 When you confuse unsubstanciated ideas with scientific theories, that's not being "far too specific". That's being careless, irresponsible and uneducated. I've seen many people doing this here, and it has a lot to do with the fact that Joe Rogan does it flipantly. The problem with that is that it's no better then the religious nuts and the people that Rogan seems to bash.

  • @ralphyetmore And what the hell is wrong with science addmiting to a few open ends every now and again instead of throwing there best "theory" at the problem, its sad the people cant live with a few uncertanties in there lives, simple as that

  • @coreybuchan21 Again, this question that you ask shows a very deep lack of understanding about what a scientific theory is. The problem with your question is that you don't understand the subject that you're discussing. I urge you to go look up the 7 - 13 different criteria involved in organizing a scientific theory.

  • This is a great point I have never heard it like this

  • That is quiiiiiite a stretch there with the alien stuff.

  • An add on to the mushrooms coming from space thing. "researchers found that land plants had evolved on Earth by about 700 million years ago and land fungi by about 1,300 million years ago", and if you've ever listened to Paul Stamets (he has a good TED talk) he talks about how huge mushrooms ruled the earth. Who knows, maybe the fungi are one of the sole reasons plants (and then animals) were able to get out of the water. Mushroom mycelium does in fact hold old growth forests together.

  • Meat didn’t make our brains bigger, but cooking did.

Cooking meat & many wild plants allowed our ancestors to absorb more energy from their food and use less energy for digestion.

Over time our guts shrank and our brains grew.

Also primates are very complex social animals and those best at the task passed on their genes.

I reckon cooking & being a complex social ape fuelled evolutionary brain size.

  • Question: is it possible that whomever is keeping things like mushrooms or marijuana illegal already knows about the potentials of evolutionary progress of those psychedelics? and is it possible that they are doing it on purpose?

  • @Frankyfrank873521 Chances are very likely. Even the word "drugs" has been implaced by governments while we all know drugs are everywhere. I'm not a heavy psychedelic drugsuser but i've done ayahuasca once and experienced love for the very first time. Love and freedom are very dangerous in this world because its something that is not profitable. Just imagine if cannabis was legal everywhere. You think we would live the same way we do know? This culture would change in a year.

  • @Frankyfrank873521 sure anything is possible but the time to believe something is when there is evidence.

  • imagine if theres just a big planet of shrooms

  • Humans are supposed to do shrooms, that's how we fucking evolved

  • The think the Stoned Ape Theory is correct for whatever branch of human beings ended up posting 99% of the comments found under YouTube videos and Yahoo News articles. It's the only logical explanation, in fact.

  • you know that humans are more closely related to mushrooms than mushroom are related to plants

  • this video is such a trip <TRIPPIN BALLS

  • All these intolerant sheep, open your mind people.

  • @NverEnoughDeathMetal

    Pt2/2

    ..of filth really was:

"On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of FAVOURED RACES in the Struggle for Life."

there are many holes you can poke in darwins bullshit, the main ones being that he basically copied malthus's vile pestilence, the whole missing link shenanigans which are downright fuckin ludicrous, and the people he associated with/supported his work.

I will find the article and MAYBE ill post some interesting shit here

  • @NverEnoughDeathMetal

    P1/2

yeah, sure smartass. Im gonna refute Darwin in 500 chars. Why dont you look it up yoself, you lazy fuckin lame? I gave you enough keywords: "Vernadsky", "Darwinism-freemarket agenda". "eugenics and darwin" and so forth. then you can come back and talk shit with some actual knowledge, instead of just being one more smartypants knowitall faggot on YT.

YOu even know the full title of darwins seminal shit? The title in itself tells you what a scumsack this little piece...

  • this fuckin retard in the back going "mhhmmm".."yep"..."sure"...."mhmm".."yep"..shut the fuckk up.

  • This actually kind of fits into vernadskys entire theory of the biosphere and the noosphere and all that.

Vernadsky offers a much more complex model of "evolution" than that eugenecist nazi scumfuck Darwin.

I find it hilarious how socalled "sceptics" make fun of people believing in that creationist bullshit, but at the same time believe in darwin like the word of god.

Darwin is nothing more than a freemarket agenda disguised as science so that the wealthy can rape us with war and finance.

  • @DJpopel "Darwin is nothing more than a freemarket agenda disguised as science so that the wealthy can rape us with war and finance."

    prove it.

  • @NverEnoughDeathMetal Prove it? loll it should be obvious at this point in time. Do you think darwin has the ultimate theory?

  • @lilsm555 darwin is not that important, evolution happens in nature and we are the product of billions of years of evolution, there is too may evidence for that

  • @RedStarBelgradefan No one is arguing that evolution does not happen you fucking moron but you are talking as if darwin has the ultimate theory and he figured out life itself. Just relax you bitch because darwins theory is a nice one but i guarantee something better will come along, stop talking as if its the ultimate theory.

  • @lilsm555 you are obviosly retarded for calling people on the internet a bitch for no reason, you are the one that needs to relax

  • @RedStarBelgradefan For no reason? lol you know you are a bitch. Just accept it.

  • @lilsm555 i said that evolution happens and you said that i am a bitch, and you would never say that to me in real life witch proves that you are a kid or just retarded ;)

  • @RedStarBelgradefan No one is debating that evolution happens only you are. You are making assumptions and you are still a bitch.

  • @lilsm555 if you say so :)

  • This is stupid. All 3 theories are bogus theories, read a science book geniuses.

  • @skydome29 hahaha, Ohh what? All scientists are right, are they? They know everything about the universe, and human evolution? That know all that shit? Grow the fuck up, idiot.

  • @TheLukieBoi1 I'd rather been a teenager and intellent, then "Grow the fuck up" and remain a moron.

  • some bullshit lol

  • 5:28 wtf lol

  • 4:23 is way better

  • Click 3:53 repeatedly.

  • Joe Rogan got me here.

  • Anyone who thinks mushrooms or any psychedelic for that matter are "drugs" with no medicinal, therapuetic, or benificial effects is kidding themselves.

The real problem is that most people have no idea of the context of how these substances should be used, and ignorant people take them for the wrong reasons

You mean to tell me that ALL of the civilizations that used psychedelics for spirituality for thousands of years were all a bunch of stoned idiots, BULLSHIT

  • @bigsmurf4 - right on smurf! Only THIS western civilization becomes "a bunch of stoned idiots" when encountering such a divine substance. We have been guided so far 'off the mark' that even this might not help us anymore.

  • @bigsmurf4 An assertion of BULLSHIT without evidence to support it is BULLSHIT.

  • @bigsmurf4 As much as i agree, i have to say... All those civilizations were a bunch of stoned idiots.. LMFAO. More was accomplished in the last 200 years, than by anything in the last 2 million. XDD

  • So humans are either the result of monkeys taking mushrooms or visitors from outer space genetically engeneering monkeys to make humans. What is more likely?

  • He's got it the wrong way round, evolution of conciousness drives the evolution of a more complex physical vehicle. Not the evolution of the physical body causing a more complex experience of conciousness........aw hang on, he got there in the end......that'll teach me to start commenting before the end........man do I feel like a jackass.....mmmm...........another bong I think........nice..........just really nicely baked...........and hungry now actually...wait, am I still typing or just think

  • Go to 5:27 TO LL at pic

  • 4:20 :D

  • I've been a vegetarian for a while and today I said it a different way. I said, "I'm not a meat eater." Because I really think humans are not meant to eat meat. Not much, anyway.

  • all joe does is repeat mckenna :o

  • Comment removed

  • Joe is one of the most intellectual people I have ever come across. I've heard him jump into random conversations and offer up detailed research without even taking a breath!

  • @metarika2 his not smart, its just the drugs that are talking.. drugs increase ur ability to articulate thoughts and ideas... basically he is just translating all the fucking shit he think into words a sentences with the movement of his tongue and the exhaling of air from the lungs to the space time in which we live

  • @Giannantonio83 Right on, that's basically how the brain instructs the body to talk. Did you know that the brain also controls many other body parts and organs? It's fascinating!

What I said was that he seems to be full of knowledge about subjects brought up by other people, at which point he will go into detail about said topic, indicating that he has done somewhat extensive research on it. So he either knows what people are going to talk about in advance, or he's researched many subjects.

  • @metarika2 no man, you know why i know? it's because i start acting exactly like joe rogan when im on drugs and i get all smart and philosophical exactly like him

  • you people need to understand many people are afraid of drugs because they see drug addicts begging for money and booze on the street, so they think drugs are bad because they transform you in the these kind of bumbs, this is totally untrue, it depends if you were smart or poor before you started taking drugs... if your a smart person and start taking drugs you will just increase your abilities to comunicate and thus become more succesful in life just like joe rogan did!

  • preach it brother, but to let you guys know, these are not Joe Rogan's ideas. These are Terrence Mckenna's ideas. Props to joe for furthering the spread of these ideas. Just don't think Joe is the smartest person in the world for ripping off people's ideas.

  • Jaguars are not from Africa... smoke some more.

  • @jangun noone said that jaguars are from africa, you go smoke some more you narrow minded dickhead

  • @jangun Theirs jaguars in Mexico and Central America to.

  • mushrooms are extra teresterial spore that talked to the monkeys and the gave monkeys the gift of thought

  • Ive heard that the fruit in the garden of eden story of the bible was originally a mushroom. and that gave them perspective n higher consciousness ....but who knows

  • @ased215er From where did you hear that? : o

  • @knigthfigth I forget where exactly but like almost all of the bible it was taken from earlier sumerian stories n epics. n in the original text it was a mushroom that they ate (before "they" were known as adam n eve) but just google it, something should come up....but like I said Who Knows whats true with these stories?!?!

  • @ased215er Yeah you're right, thanks man. I'll definitely go check for it.

  • wait that makes me gay right?

  • @TheLonelyGamer24 not if it was in prison.... (^O^)

  • @TheLonelyGamer24 I think that's only if you do it twice. One time isn't enough.

  • 8 people sucks my filthy cock on porpuse o.O

  • 4:17 :)

  • Stop the war on drugs!

    RON PAUL 2012

Then we can stop pharma and introduce safe plant based medicine.

    OWS

  • @gottagoat Wow. It takes five minutes of evolution reading to answer that, so apparently you don't even know what evolution is?

  • @dodgeball441 Brilliant mock post. I like how you managed to tie yoga and evolution together into a materialist conspiracy. You should write for the Onion.

  • Come on dude , so you think we evolved from monkeys, ok, heres one for you. If we evolved from monkeys, then why are there still monkeys, Ok ok yeah just some of us did? right, when something evolves, it evolves, some of them dont deside to stay the same. argue that

  • @gottagoat we did not evolve from modern monkeys, we and modern monkeys share a common ancestor, get your facts straight ;)

  • @gottagoat Humans didn't evolve from Monkeys, but Monkeys and Humans are cousins who both evolved from a common ancestor species.

  • @gottagoat you are so stupid ...i reccomend you 2 go watch richard dawkins on this subject ...

  • @gottagoat thats like asking 'if american colonists came from Britain, why is there still Britain?'

  • It is ridiculous, but very interesting.

  • @dodgeball441 where is your evidence...

  • mushrooms, salvia and dmt are drugs every human should consume and make sure they get the full effect of before they die.

  • 3:45 The shroomery icon lol

  • @dodgeball44 I suggest you invest some more time learning about what exactly the theory of evolution is and what it says. There's nothing to be afraid of, I promise you.

  • yeah, fucking... n' shit.

  • where do I find these mushrooms..

  • "FIVE BONG HIT, STARE AT SPACE, and think it through for like 10 hours"

  • spores can survive the vacuum... ok. but could it survive the heat from entering our atmosphere? it could survive if it was deep towards the middle of the asteroid... but then how could viable shroom spores get into the middle of a giant rock that became the asteroid?

  • @sandman3697 and also are spores still viable after being space frozen?

  • I am not too sure that spores would survive entry. Joe Rogan tends to accept anything that lays on the fringe. He dismissed rationality and evidence along time ago.

  • But we didn't evolve from apes.. we have a common ancestor. Not the same thing :\

  • VOTE UP

    If your here from highDEAs

  • HIGHDEAS!

  • Uh, Highdeas got me here :D

  • 4:19 you can hear a bong hit lol

  • karate monkey!!

  • Good shit. Not saying anything definite, but there needs to be more research into psychedelics and what they can make mankind capable of. Unfortunately, that has been made impossible by propoganda and the morons and old ladies who buy into it.

  • Vote Peyote Party in 2012

  • Interesting theory, not proved but not entirely impossible either.

  • so basically....a spore survives in vacuum?ok i guess ill play along.....a comet is in space(vacuum)..makes sense....and then comet breaks through atmosphere disintegrates and burns at very high tempretures AND loses almost half of its size...crashes into earth...and of course....spores survive all that..cuz you know spores have super powers...and THAT is how life was created on earth DUHHHH......

  • @amaterasu159357 don't make fun of the video unless you actually understand it. no where does it mention life being created. if your one point is that spores couldn't survive atmospheric entry, then just write that. upon doing some research, you'd find that multiple studies have been done; they probably can survive. and regardless, you don't have to be an asshole about it. no one is saying it's true, it's just two guys with ideas. that's how progress is made.

  • @amaterasu159357 if you ignore the whole spores from space part, it seems plausible

  • @MrHennessy30 I don't think there saying that mushrooms caused mutations, rather that they increased the innovation of things like weapons that allow evolution in some respects to take place. As well as this a sense of community will further allow the continuation of the species and thus evolution

  • the last 10 seconds i agree COMPLETELY

  • It's an interesting idea.

The problem is though, how does it actually explain biological evolution? One of the reasons Darwin's theories were so revolutionary was because they largely displaced the flawed ideas of Lamarckism, ideas centered on the ability of organisms to pass on traits acquired in their life time.

Evolution doesn't work like that, evolution works instead on the basis of genetic mutations. That is the key. And that is why the 'stoned ape theory' doesn't add up.

  • Well, it's a nice story - it has some grounds in some ways.

  • slowly help them evolve much much quicker HAHAHHAHA XD psychedelic influence :D

  • great vid makes one think its very possible i like terence mckenna =]

  • anyone else recognise the shroomery front page image?

  • can you really smoke shrooms?..

  • @TheWorteldrie no =)

  • @TheWorteldrie Yes, but the heat kills psilocybin so you have to smoke a whole lot of them when you can just eat a fraction of them and get a much better expirience.

  • @SpongyLikeALizard but theres heat in your body. so wouldnt consume theme heat them, thus killing the psilocybin

  • @TheWorteldrie I'm no chemist but I believe the heat of your body is half of that of a flame, regardless it doesn't kill psilocybin, it breaks it down and if it's in your body when it breaks down, all the components are still in your body. The component you want is psilocin. That's the drug that affects you. Certain types of spores are bad for your lungs but i doubt psilocybin mushrooms are one of them. Moldy weed can really fuck you up though.

  • @TheWorteldrie just buttplug them bro

  • @TheWorteldrie Technically, Yes you can, how ever, they are mushrooms, and mushrooms have spores. Spores are one of the last things you want in your lungs. I have experienced it twice, once from moldy marijuana and the second was actually trying to smoke mushrooms. I got very sick from both for a couple of weeks, it was not pleasant at all. Just eat them, they're much more fun :)

  • @doctorpiranha thanks but i'll stick to smokin weed

  • Monkey+shroom= human evolution. makes sense if you dont think about it

  • "Australopithecus... whathever the fuck it was" I love how he misses profanity and scientific terms.

  • @forgetaboutbre....but he was speaking about intelligent life forms that manipulated our DNA....I was impressed as this manipulation by intelligent life forms is what I believe also.

  • Where's his theory on extarrestrial DNA manipilation suddenly disappeared to?

  • @daeth4us could be extraterrestrial spores that came form an asteroid...

  • Many excellent comments on this video.

  • Ron Paul

  • mmhmm, mhmm, mmhmm. hmm....

  • Stoned Ape Theory ... is definitely true.

  • wow thats interesting

  • Fuck that's a crazy theory!

  • lol my clone plant has spores everywhere wtf !weed spores!?...

  • my friend has a vervet monkey, they are smarter than you think, he understands language, he can also throw grapes at your head from across the room. we also get him stoned.

  • lmao i didnt know jon lajoie hung around with joe rogan haha or at least on this podcast.

  • There is definitely something out there. wow that was trippy. maybe there is an infinite number of other things

  • @ssssaintmarcus I believe that too. Infinite EVERYTHING? It's furstrating to try to wrap your mind around ideas like that right? Peace. :D

  • I hate how the top 2 comments are from a pointless internet argument and not something witty or observational.

  • @The15Stefan Is there someway i can delete them? ^_^

  • @The15Stefan kinda like urs lol

  • lol we have stopped evolving, why do the governments of the world hate these types of drugs ?? shrooms,acid.. oh but we can drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes thanks.. what else am i allowed? our mind have been trained to think in a certain way and its very ,well robotic like

  • Stoned ape versus drunken moose.

  • anderson cooper needs to cover this LOL

  • dont apologize for the pictures man thank you very much for bringing this audio to everybody

  • *head explodes*

  • TITLE OF THIS SHOULD BE "JOE ROGAN ATTEMPTS TO DESCRIBE TERENCE MCKENNAS GENUIS STONED APE THEORY".

  • Some scientist are arguing ALL our water came from asteroids and yes they are laughed at in the geology world.

  • @Zodiakwarrior why would they laugh at that i dont get it ...they know asteroids are mainly big ice balls and that in the early years of our planets evolution it was bombarded with asteroids ...truth is we dont have a fukkin clue what went on in the early days ... we can only speculate

  • @jamfen I agree it obviously has its merits, yet this is the reaction anytime you challenge the institution. I so don't think science is a liberal conspiracy. lol sad that we can even laugh about it but ppl think it is.

  • i was thinking of this theory the other day, it's like the hundred thought that has come to me over the years that Joe Rogan has explained amazingly good considering we live in a society focused on the present and nothing else.
