@fmn2628 This is Shinbukan, which is an ancient traditionnal school (Jap:koryu) teaching forms which are more close to the way Samurais fought in the 17th century. Of course Japanese sword techniques evolved since then. These koryu largely inspired other modern styles like kenjutsu and kendo in 19th century, which Kuroda is also proficient in.
Actually koryu are the roots of some modern martial arts, that's why it is also interesting to learn from, despite being taught only to a few people.
