Why is it so agreed upon that this paper by Bob McDonnell is rhetoric? Not everyone in politics has to approve of homosexuality. Women having to work is detrimental to the family because children are now being raised by daycare centers. Also, more people in the job market cause companies to pay less. This makes it almost impossible for a family to have one person work while the other takes care of the household and children providing a wholesome family environment.

Marriage is not mentioned in the Constitution at all. In 1789, men weren't trying to marry other men, so it was not an issue. Even in 1791 when the First Amendment was introduced separating church and state, it does not directly address marriage. But it doesn't say that it's wrong to have sex with donkeys either.
