Um I don't think I can list all the music I like. Here's some highlights you are less likely to hear from other people I guess? Steve Reich, Erik Satie, Yoshida Brothers, Apocalyptica, The National, Iron and Wine, Bessie Smith, Billy Holiday, Samuel Barber, Charles Ives, Chen Yi, *checks iTunes because brainfail* Astor Piazzolla, Hedningarna, Eluveitie, Ivo Papasov, Orange Rush, Movits! Probably enough for now. Not that you'll read this. >.<
I listen to Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Rihanna, some Beyonce; but also Wolfsheim, only the bestest german band ever, and Zombina and the Skeletons, The Vitamin String Quartet (check out their album of lady gaga covers!!! SO AMAZING), and some other single songs by various bands, of course.
Matt and Kim, especially Daylight, it makes me laugh.
Vampire Weekend; White Sky is another song that makes me laugh--that chorus!
White Lies, Bigger Than Us. Not funny, but so GOOD.
This reminds me, though: I was once prescribed a book by my doctor. He said, "Look, there's nothing I can really do to make you feel better. You're going to feel awful for a few weeks, but you'll be fine. So! Why don't you read Guns, Germs, and Steel?" (Doc and I sometimes talk books) And I did. And it was awesome.
In terms of Japanese music, I suggest Perfume, The Gazette (although a few of their songs are disturbing, still pretty good since there are HUNDREDS of good ones), Bueno, and Piko, who is a solo singer, not a band. If you don't have a problem with robotic voices there's also Vocaloid.
In terms of American music, the list is LONG. But among my favorites there's Owl City, best band ever, A Rocket To the Moon, Green Day, and more stuff I don't have the time nor space to mention.
a little bit of the mountain goats (Thank your brother.), The Diablo Swing Ochestra, A lot of stuff by Hans Zimmer, Music made for a webcomic called Homestuck (That is about a billion times nerdier than Wizard Rock or Time lord Rock.), and some random Jazz and Blues I find strewn across The internet.
It's got to be My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Paramore, P!ATD, The All-American Rejects, Hank, Alex Day, Charlieissocoollike, Eddplant, Chameleon Circuit and DISNEY.

youtube introduced me to Within Temptation, a reliably awesome band with the self-describing tagline "melodic prgressive rock with stunning female vocals." That sums it up fairly well. It's about as heavy as my music gets, but I love it!
The Avett Brothers Band of Horses The Antlers Bright Eyes Nicole Atkins Flight of the Conchords The Airborne Toxic Event LESLIE Los Campesinos! Manchester Orchestra MGMT The Mountain Goats Pearl Jam...almost put Ham... Cake (Love their song Opera Singer.)
I usually like songs instead of bands...I don't know why. I mean, there are bands I like, but mostly it's just songs that are brilliant. Such as these: Afterglow by Kate York Alone without you by Mark Owen Beautifully by Jay Brannan Denmark by Jay Brannan The End by Meghan Tonjes Fascination by Alphabeat First day of my life by Bright Eyes Hum Along by Ludo John Wayne Gacy Jr. by Sufjan Stevens Joker in the pack by The Adicts Tennessee Rose by The Deep Vibration
asking my favorite bands is like asking my favorite books. name a genre, & I MIGHT be able to narrow it down to 5. but asked in a general sense..no way. P.S. Do I spot a Rancid shirt? :D (I can't really tell though because I could only see the N and maybe part of a C. but it looks like it COULD be a Rancid shirt...)
5. a lot of awesome, like midlake, and pheonix, and justice, and the kooks, and Last shadow puppets and damnwells, and helio sequence and s much more...
I listen to a LOT of metal and punk rock. My favortie bands are Rammstein (a German industrial metal band, if you didn't know) and Linkin Park (I heart the screaming). I also have a love of the Japanese Pop and (strangely enough) theme songs from anime shows. Why, I don't know... but they are FULL of awesome.
-.- with (mahn-ga) the correct pronounciation u rele have to emphasize the 'h' making it a longer sound than when u say (man-ga), this incorrect version sounds much less harsh to an english speaker.. i rele dont see the need for a long arguement over 2 simple words.
You're saying it's pronounced Ma-HUH-nga? Thats totally wrong. And I don't see the need to argue either, you all just replied to MY original comment and picked a fight with me.
Joanna Newsom and Regina Spektor (look for her unreleased music on youtube) are probably my two favorite artists. I'm also a huge fan of Relient K because their music is peppy and their lyrics are so clever.
Also, if you're up to some amazing choral music, I highly recommend checking out Rachmaninov's Vespers as performed by the Robert Shaw Festival Singers. (Number II is my favorite :])
i have been listening to a lot of casiotone for the painfully alone, Bright eyes, Black dice, animal collective , the hush sound, oppenheimer, panda bear and vision Swim. so its obvious that i spend way too much time listening to music.
2. Thanks for the music links. I'm always looking for good YouTube acts. Admittedly, I didn't need the links to Julia or Molly, because let's face it, they were the ones that introduced me to y'all.
I listen to mainly just Wrock (MoM, Parselmouths, Myrtles, Mudbloods... etc!), but I also listen to Regina Spektor, The Hush Sound, The Fray, and Julia Nunes. She's fantastic, I agree:)
the mitch hansen band (theyve got some good Twi-nerd stuff) Gred and Forge Harry and the Potters Whomping Willows David Bowie ^^^specifically David Bowie in Labyrinth ^^^^and as Ziggy Stardust the killers Great Big Sea anything disney. Javier Navarrate and b'way
HANK GREEN LIKES oF MONTREAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YESYESYESYESYESYESYES!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for that outburst. Having my seperate interests connect themselves is really exciting for me. I've been super into of Montreal for a while, and think it's awesome that Hank likes them!
A band you might like (maybe? Probably not XD) Is the Gorillaz! You've probably never heard of them but listen to them anyway. I think they're awesome.
my music interests are slowly being redefined. i used to listen to rock and thats it, but i like everything now. I like rock, pop, rap and, dare i say it, country. My favorites though are say anything, cauterize and the dixie chicks
The Airborne Toxic Event is really good, I think. I am also a huge Death Cab fan.

All American Rejects, Superchic[k], Hank Green, and Spleen Day (my friend does spoofs of Green day songs.)
animalcrossing375 2 years ago
Just because a large amount of people pronounce it that way doesn't make it correct ;P
It's a Japanese word with Japanese pronunciation. In French, would you pronounce
"parsque" as Par's-Qew? No. Different languages use different pronunciations, even when said by a non-native speaker.
TamashiiHiroka 2 years ago
mah-nga is correct but man-ga sounds better to me..and u can say it easier..less complicated sound :P
tally24th 2 years ago
Its a two syllable word, I don't understand how that could be complicated.
TamashiiHiroka 2 years ago
-.- maybe ur just mute idk
tally24th 2 years ago
I'm not mute, and manga is not difficult to pronounce. Even John pronounced it correctly in one of these videos.
TamashiiHiroka 2 years ago
u didn't get what i ment at all ¬.¬ its not like its difficult but its easier to pronounce is man-ga even tho its the wrong way to say it.
tally24th 2 years ago
Its easier to make a long vowel sound rather than a short vowel sound? You'd think it would be the other way around.
TamashiiHiroka 2 years ago
-.- with (mahn-ga) the correct pronounciation u rele have to emphasize the 'h' making it a longer sound than when u say (man-ga), this incorrect version sounds much less harsh to an english speaker.. i rele dont see the need for a long arguement over 2 simple words.
tally24th 2 years ago

For some reason, when I think 'nerd' and 'music,' Lemon Demon comes to mind. Hehehehe.

2. Thanks for the music links. I'm always looking for good YouTube acts. Admittedly, I didn't need the links to Julia or Molly, because let's face it, they were the ones that introduced me to y'all.
