The difference between a 50v 3.3μF and a 100v 3.3μF capacitor is the 100v can take more volts before it goes "POP"/"Fizzle"/etc etc. So it won't have any difference in a circuits performance (so long as the supplied voltage is less than half of the capacitors voltage rating).

A good rule of thumb is to have a voltage rating -about- twice that of the voltage you're planing to use.

So, if using a 9v battery, 16v or higher for the capacitor so you don't risk frying it.

 I posted that question after looking at his blog which doesn't show the BD139 set up (the other video does,ty) and Being new to building flashers, a simple no it doesn't matter what V the C1 is as long as its more than your input would have helped myself and everyone else appreciating this build.
